  • "We were a party of five, celebrating a mid-week birthday. From beginning to end, Chris, our server was excellent. He was very attentive, despite having another large table just seated nearby. He was friendly and informed and very passionate about the food and the menu. The food was good too-great steaks and fresh fish. They are also flexible with substitions on the side dishes. The desserts were also impressive and delicious. All in all, one of the most pleasant dining experiences we have had in a long while. Thank you! "

The meals were great and we had time to talk to each other before they left for home. This place will be our "go to" whenever they visit. The presentation of the food was very good.I can't say enough about everything. Haven't been there for dinner lately, so I put it on our "To Do" list. You are close to our home which is another plus. Thanks for the lovely Brunch."

  • "My wife and I have wanted to try this place out and on Friday, we finally did. We were so glad we did! The food was simply great with a wonderful atmosphere. I had the pork porterhouse and my wife had the beef stroganoff. Both meats were so tender and had amazing flavor. You must go! Next time, I am trying the seafood pot pie."

  • "Valentine's day. crowded, intimate enough to talk. Sampled goat cheese/phyllo appetizer-Creamy, smooth goat cheese, light crispy phyllo & macerated cranberry. Outstanding. Tavern salad outstanding & large for dinner salad. Clam chowder had lots of clam, good flavor, broth bit watery-prefer thicker consistency. Osso Buco-great flavor, but bit dry & less tender than like. Parmesan risotto not as flavorful. Sea bass outstanding, cooked to perfection, great flavor, with unusual, very flavorful carrot risotto. Chocolate mint truffles terrific. 3 drinks, appetizer, salad, cup of soup & 2 entrees=$110 including tax (not tip). For elegant meal & surroundings, great service, very good value. Recommended for romantic to family to business dinner."

  • "We had an outstanding waiter and everyone in the restaurant provided outstanding service. There was 7 of us; girls out for a monthly lunch, and everyone enjoyed their food. Had great special coffee drinks. The restaurant was very stylish and pretty with the fireplaces and a beautiful bar. I'd like to return in the evening and listen to the piano player. We stayed 1 1/2 hours and no one at the restaurant made us feel bad for staying and talking so long. Peach cobbler was yummy."

  • "We dined on a busy Saturday night of Restaurant Week and had a great dinner with great service. Our server apologized for the delay in service - but we didn't feel there was any delays. One disappointing thing though, at the bar my friend ordered the "house cab" and was charged $8 for the glass. When we were seated, she ordered another "house cab" and was billed for a more expensive wine (received the more expensive wine also). The server said they don't have 'house wines" and she brought one of popular wines to my friend. The server should have clarified what wine was ordered rather than to select one on her own. On a great note, I placed a "to go" order at the end of our meal for an ill friend and the staff was very accommodating!"

The off menu or specials offered never fail to impress. The latest example being Tilefish with red pepper and scampi risotto. We continue to go there at all hours and always leave satisfied. In a town with so many choices of great restaurants, it may be asked 'why return to one so often ?' Our answer, 'why not?', with such variety and delicious surprises awaiting us at The Tavern, we will continue to be there. Do yourself a favor and join us."
