The menu title is local-fare, and Tavern 64 lives up to it. For our meal we had the stuffed mushroom appetizer (smokey and superb) the monk-fish on a bed of spaghetti squash with broccoli sprouts (yum) and beer cheese soup (awesome).

Great to see a local spot using fresh, local foods. Very nice atmosphere, team service rarely left your needs unmet. Liked the choice of opting for several tapas type dishes or a full meal. I wish the atmosphere was a bit more intimate, although seemed great for large groups. Felt almost as though we were eating along with the table next to us. The noise level was also very high, hard to have a convo with the hubs, but groups seemed to be enjoying lively atmosphere. Tables a wee bit further apart and some sound baffling would kick it up a notch in this diner's eyes. Overall, great find.

The service was very friendly and always nearby to refill your drink. The food was horrible. The beer and cheese soup head clearly broken before it was served. The gnocchi was overlooked and the greens made the whole dish bitter and unappetizing. The turkey meatball spaghetti was equally inedible. While the pasta was cooked perfectly, we asked for marinara sauce and that's not what we got. The meatballs were overly dense and dry.

We arrived for our lunch reservation and most of the restaurant was packed with a large group. They accomidated us very nicely by seating us far away from the group and noise. Service was very attentive and food was good.

Beer-braised clams were great and their broth excellent, as was the bread (could use a little more bread). Actually, all the small plates were good. It was a Sunday night so it was quiet. No complaints about the waiter, but all 5 small plates came out at once, and they (along with the burger our son ordered) came out SO FAST! The dinner was to celebrate an anniversary, but we ended up in and out of there so fast, it wasn't much of an event. It wasn't because they were trying to move tables, because the place was mostly empty and it wasn't late either. I had a cocktail before dinner, and had been planning to enjoy a glass of wine with dinner, but I didn't have time to order it! I guess we have to go back when they're busy? That seems ironic.

Went here on a date night with my fiancee and another couple... When we came in the bar part downstairs was packed and they were having trouble with our reservation...so we had a pre-dinner drink. The crowd at the bar was manageable and the staff was attentive. Dinner was awesome...we had the scallops and crispy pork loin. Both were very good, but the sauce on the loin was amazing. When we left, the bar had kinda gone full on club/lounge with a DJ occupying the hostess area. We stayed a bit and really enjoyed the people watching as well as the overall experience. Not recommended if you want a quiet night out (the bar is energetic), but highly recommended if you are looking for something to do in a good area with good food and drink.

Based on one visit, I like the place. Service was friendly and efficient but informal. Food - Eggs Benedict - was good. The room as open and airy, with predominantly straight lines in the furnishings and decor. It was not crowded on this occasion and conversation was easy.

Tavern 64 is the newly refurbished restaurant attached to the Hyatt Regency Reston. It was a good place to catch up with a friend over brunch as I was staying at the hotel and most of the other options were chain restaurants I could find anywhere. She enjoyed her frittatta, I enjoyed the pulled pork. The complementary cornbread that started the meal was delicious, but the cranberry butter didn't have any easily distinguishable flavors...not even of butter. There's so much glass you have a lovely view and backdrop from almost any table and the overall ambience is warm and easygoing.

I had a friend pop into town unexpectedly and was looking for a brunch spot close to her hotel. The food was great and we really enjoyed our meal. The service was perfectly fine but not exceptional. There were only a few people inside due to a festival that was taking place in the shopping center, so I can't vouch for how the service and food would be if they were busy. It did suit our purposes since we wanted a chance to catch up. I will definitely try them again.

Our table was ready and the hostess/servers were charming, warm and professional. I would certainly recommend. I chose this restaurant knowing that the food would be exquisite as well and NONE of our party had been to this restaurant before. I had been once and it left a wonderful impression.

What a lucky find! The place wasn't very full, or rather, was about 1/4 full. It was quiet but with music playing and a full wait staff attending. The drinks arrived and were what we had hoped we'd get when we ate at McCormick & Schmick a couple weeks earlier. Very well made and exactly as described. A real cocktail and not just sugar water with a shot of alcohol. The strip steak was perfectly cooked, with a corn succotash and portobello mushroom slivers that really augmented the steak and it's sauce. The rockfish tasted like rockfish, with a just-right amount of blackening. There was nothing about tonight's dinner that fell short. Nothing. Why didn't we try this place before? You can bet we'll be going back, and bringing friends.

The restaurant welcomed our party of six adults that arrived individually. Drinks were slow in delivery throughout the evening. The waiter was hospitable, but just didn't have it together. Not to be cruel, but he needs more training. Their concept of having locally grown menu items is a great one. The food and presentations were average for the price. We were mostly satisfied with the food and chalked the poor service up to gathering together for the company, not the food. I'm sorry to say that I would not recommend the restaurant and I would be kind of embarrassed to have this restaurant represent our local cuisine for international visitors staying at the Hyatt to dine there. Reston Town Center has other much better restaurants.

We wanted to like Tavern 64. We like Reston Town Center and like the farm to table concept. However, the execution wasn't up to the idea. We shared a smoked trout spread to start. Fairly tasty but way too salty. Then I had the short ribs. Tender, tasty BBQ sauce, but way too much salt. There were some good choices, though on the limited wine list.

My wife and I went to Tavern 64 for our weekly date night. Despite being within the Hyatt, they are very much into local sourcing of ingredients and the menu was very nicely put together. I had the braised short ribs while my wife enjoyed the Seared scallops with bacon. Most excellent! Only shortcoming was a lack of more local wines. Also, the music in the restaurant was a little loud, but the staff was responsive in modifying the level. All in all, we enjoyed an excellent dinner!

We chose this restaurant over another because this one was much quieter. The breakfast foods were disappointing- overcooked and not very interesting. We had the egg white frittata, an omelet, and the scrambled eggs. Nothing seemed very fresh or inspired; perhaps it was the late hour (about 11:30). The coffee was way too strong. If we go back to Reston Town Center for brunch we will try a different restaurant.

the farm to table emphasis is in style and appealing and the ingredients seem to be superb but the food prep just doesn't quite make it. Other dining experiences are far superior. Too bad because Tavern 64 is pleasant, has a great location, and could be wonderful. The good news??? If you want to talk, it is about the only place in Reston where you can have a quiet meal.

Met the friendly Chef Sean at an outdoor festival and after a brief discussion of his fare, how he buys locally and the excitement he exuded in talking about his menu we cancelled our other brunch plans and made them for Tavern 64. What a smart move we made - brunch was fantastic from the hard-to-find Corpse Reviver cocktail (made perfectly by the way), to the chicken and waffles and my wife's custom omelette, the meal was excellent, came out hot, on a warm plate and was the perfect size to fill us up but not make us pine for a 1pm nap. (that came later). Thank you the the staff and especially Chef Sean for loving your job and making us feel so welcome.

I came here with my family to enjoy brunch and made reservations ahead of time since we were celebrating Father's Day. They nicely called the day prior to confirm our reservations and to let us know that our parking ticket at the Hyatt garage could be validated, if needed. There was no special Father's Day brunch menu, but it was great to see that the regular weekend brunch menu listed food source information from local vendors. I only wished there were more creative choices. The restaurant had decent ambiance. Spaces were wide enough for comfortable seating. Once the dishes arrived, the food itself felt underwhelming. Coffee refills were spotty. Our waiter was a bit unorganized and awkward.

The luncheon menu is varied and focused on good sustainable food products from local vendors. It was good that our server pointed out the salad choices could be embellished with meats. Two of us chose the scallops on arugula salad. A very luscious taste treat and a plentiful serving that allowed satiety without being stuffed. Our third diner had the Caesar with chicken and was equally satisfied. The price for lunch was just right. We will return for lunch. Can't comment about other meals. We used a coupon acquired through the Northern Virginia Fine Arts Festival--nice to have the restaurant participate in the fundraiser for GRACE (Greater Reston Arts Center) with this thank you coupon.
