Tastings Wine Bar and BistroHigh quality, interesting foodTastings Wine Bar must have some special chef; I was totally impressed with the selections, particularly the small plates/appetizers. Three to four steps above most restaurants in terms of "interesting-ness" of the fresh food. Tastings offerings really were delicious and different. You could tell they were higher end, high quality ingredients. They have their own garden. Everything from the bone marrow popcorn (used instead of butter), to the roasted carrots & the accoutrements to the cabbage salad I LOVED. The portions are small, but that works for me. Whole bill was a little high because of the alcohol; but the food quality & value is tops. If you want top quality, fresh, fabulous food that piques your palate, come here.6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMCasual upscale dining worth tryingI was taken in by the story behind Tastings -- sourcing local food, boasting a top notch wine list and the "award-winning" mac and cheese. The atmosphere was classy yet casual. My date and I were seated in a cozy corner but the column blocked our view to the golf tournament on the bar TV (maybe that was a good thing). For someone looking for large portions and a cheap date, this is not the place. The food is thoughtful and artful which means smaller (appropriately-sized) portions with a higher price tag (quality ingredients). Our server was attentive to start then when the crowd picked up, we had to flag him down for another round of drinks.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMWe Will Return!Enjoyed the entire experience, from the choice of the wine at the bar, the cheese selection, great main course, to a dessert like no other. We left smiling.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent, as usual.I almost don't want to share how much we love Tastings so that it doesn't become TOO popular! Always a great time. Be prepared to expand your palate with an open mind as this isn't your meat and potatoes place. The menu changes with the season which is really nice and most plates feature at lest one ingredient that is harvested from a local business. The wine list is unbeatable as well. You're going to spend some money if you "do it right" so be prepared. A no holds barred evening will run around 2 hours if you take your time and come to about $150 for 2 people. However, it is worth it.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMinteresting food in a fun areaWine flights, cheese boards are very interesting. Also unique apts and entries. Also plenty to do before or after since the restaraunt is in Patriots Place4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was an unexpected find. This was an unexpected find. Really good food and a good atmosphere to have a nice dining experience while trying interesting wines. The host made every effort to make sure we had an enjoyable time (sorry I forgot his name) and I wish all restautants had someone like this to oversee their dining room. THe food had good flavor and was both interesting and well presented. The lamb and the steak were cooked perfectly. I expect this to become a regular spot.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu was fairly limited. OtherMenu was fairly limited. Did not have dinner but a late night snack.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat service and food. IfGreat service and food. If you are looking for 8 pounds of pasta with an enormous fried chicken breast go elsewhere.
Great service, excellent food - eclectic menu, but something for everyone - rabbit, duck, calamari, steak, fancy burgers. We all loved the wine flights - can;t wait to go again.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe dining experience wasThe dining experience was wonderful overall. The Russian River Valley Pinot Noir was wonderfully served in balloon glasses, and the wine was at the perfect temperature. The entrée was delicious, but was a little bit of a tease as I would have liked a whole rabbit leg, or at least more of those delectable rabbit morsels.
I really enjoyed the sweet finish tasting flight and really enjoyed the lightly frizzante rose'.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding knowledge of theOutstanding knowledge of the vast wine selection. Our server was excellent along with the rest of the staff. I would not make it a destination for the steak (which is what I had, my wife had and LOVED the lamb)but still a very good overall experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a PleasureWe don't usually take the time to write reviews or do surveys but just HAD to make an exception. We visited Tastings for the fourth time last weekend and, to no surprise, we had a wonderful dining experience. My husband, fourteen year old daughter and I enjoyed a pleasurable dinner together. Besides delightful to the taste buds, the food portions were, as always, reasonable and allowed us the opportunity to try a couple of dishes without feeling like a gluttons! The atmosphere was upbeat without being rowdy and our waiter (who we are always blessed to have) was friendly, knowledgeable and had perfect timing. We just wanted to thank the entire staff from hostess and chef to bus people for a delightful evening.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you like well thought out/If you like well thought out/ well- prepared food, excellent service and a great wine list, then Tastings is a must for you.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWhere is the Tastings Menu? This was the 2nd time we visited and the Tastings menu was not available again. The first time we were told it is not available on weekends. This time,on a Wednesday evening, they explained their Menu is in transition preparing for a spring. No warnings on the their website.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful experience, again.Wonderful experience, again. Calamari was delicious, as was the Mac and Cheese. Cocktails were top notch, I just wish my date was as good as the food.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
