The restaurant was extremely busy when we arrived at 7:15 (to the point that menus were in short supply!), but that did not impact the excellent service we received from the waitstaff. We each ordered something different, and the food was outstanding across the board. Happily, they liked it as much as we do! The specials on the menu were wonderful - pork and flounder were especially well received! I am always impressed when a restaurant uses RW to showcase its talents in the kitchen and provides the same quantity of food as it does during regular business days. I had friends from Midlothian there the other night and they said it was the best meal they had ever had ! Andrew and Val are the best, polite , friendly, very accommodating. I have never had a bad meal there. It is always delicious. Our party included five adults and two children ages 9 and 11. Appetizers were perfect and easy to share. We all ordered something different and each entree was absolutelly delicious. Two of our favorites were the shimp stuffed with crabmeat and the Rockfish. The younger children ordered pizza and enjoyed that too. The wait staff was friendly and very accomodating. From start to finish everything was excellent - our waiter was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, entrees were varied, totally fresh, delicious and beautifully presented, great wine choices and full bar, and the Desserts were scrumptious! We ordered the Thai beef & shrimp, the rolled veal special and the salmon and all were outstanding. Desserts were absolutely scrumptious - we totally cleaned our plates! Will we be back again? You betcha!3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA Richmond FavoriteThe regular menu has a variety of wonderful choices and the specials are numerous and are, indeed, special. It is not unusual for Tastebuds to have several large parties (more than 4) and, so, it can get loud. But the tables are not as close together as some places (Stella's comes to mind) so you can carry on a conversation with your dining companion!
In some places it can be difficult to find something on the menu that appeals to you - at Tastebuds, it's the opposite - trying to decide between the many appealing offerings.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place! Our appetizer and meal were delicious. The steak and pork were moist and tender. The greens were bright and flavorful. If you want a model of how trout in pastry should be prepared, toddle on over.
