""Tastebuds" is a Northside gem that is worth the effort for Richmonders who may not live in that part of town. We have eaten here many times. It is our choice for special occasions and for that mid-week night out when we order from the fixed-price menu simply because we want good food but don't want to cook and don't want to spend a fortune. Everything is exceptional, from creative cocktails through appetizers to desert. The menu is imaginative, carefully prepared and presented. The wines are thoughtful and well-priced. Service is friendly and prompt without being rushed. Prices are moderate and certainly no more than than many more pretentious establishments where the food is nowhere near as good. Exceptional quality and value."

"Up there with the best restaurants in Richmond. Food is wonderfully prepared and presented, the waitstaff is professional and attentive. Also, a great "date night" location for Monday through Thursday - Add $3 to the entree price and get a salad, dessert and half price for a glass of their house wine."

"One of the very best neighborhood finds in Richmond. We travel from short pump to the northside to eat at this gem. Nothing else quite fits into this category for us. Keep up the great menu with lots of small plate and daily special options and we will keep coming."

"What you get from the Bistro is consistency. It's consistently very good -- from the way you're welcomed when you arrive, cocktails, food, wine, the wait staff. There's a quality about the place that makes you want to return again and again ... which is why I keep going back."

"Superb food and service. Would prefer more lighting. Sadly, we would return only if we could be in and out before 8 pm or sooner, when it becomes crowded and the noise levels become unbearable due to the increasing rudeness of diners who talk and laugh loudly without concern for others, especially when in groups. This is a sad commentary on the state of civility and courtesy in this country."
