I didn't like that no one greeted
upon arrival at the restaurant or directed to a table -the table wasn't clean and the food was just ok not as tasty as I'd hoped. Overall not really a place that I would revisit"

I have to say, when we first
arrived at Taste, we had a bad impression. It was freezing cold, there were hardly any other customers and the atmosphere seems a bit sterile. The food and service made up for all of that. They immediately turned down the A/C for me because I was cold and the service was warm and friendly. The barbecue chicken flatbread is a must! All of the food we ordered exceeded our expectations and the bartender made fantastic cocktails. My recommendation: Give Taste a chance."

The service was nice and
accomodating. I used open table because I was not familiar with the area, was there for a graduation and they were able to accommodate 15 people with no problem but the menu is very limited and the drinks are expensive. "
Dined on 5/15/2014
We all enjoyed our meals, although
the menu is very limited. I had the Cobb salad on the recommendation of the server, but it didn't live up to others I've had. My friends all had steak and reported it was delicious, as were the special mashed potatoes, but one complained that the steak wasn't cooked as she had ordered. It was surprisingly empty for a Saturday night. The ambience is okay, it's a nice bar. The wine list was limited, although specialty cocktails were available. Still, I would recommend it if you're looking for a nice bar in Society Hill. Maybe it would be better to order sandwiches and burgers rather than a full dinner."

Great little spot inside the
Sheraton Society Hill. Quiet, convenient and very welcoming."
Dined on 3/2/2014
We made last minute valentine's
reservations and were a little concerned that they still had seating available. It's in the Sheraton and parking is only $7 when you eat at the restaurant, which is a pretty good deal. When we arrived, the restaurant was near empty. A few people sat at the bar and about 4 tables had patrons. We were told we could pick anywhere we wanted to sit. We started off with Mediterranean Olives with Roasted Almonds ($5) and the Tomato with soft mozzarella appetizer ($9). The olives and almonds were very good but the other dish had just a few thinly sliced wedges of tomato and lots of mixed greens. We also shared the Cobb Salad ($15) - excellent. Cheesesteak was very good but pricey @ $15. Strip steak cooked perfectly."
Dined on 2/14/2014
The food was very good for our
dinner. We both had the sirloins steak which was cooked just right. Our appetizer was tasty and our cheesecake for dessert were excellent. The restaurant was rather quiet. We sat at a table near the bar scene in the restaurant. It was not crowed and the service was very attentive. A bit pricey but overall was a very enjoyable dinner. We also ate there for breakfast the next day. We both had the buffet. It was good but the food was only lukewarm at best. French toast was cold."
Dined on 2/14/2014
The food was good but nothing over
the top to make me say wow. It was very dead and that's never a good sign, especially during restaurant week."
Dined on 1/31/2014
I went with a large party of girls
for a night out and while the staff was quite friendly and the food was good, there was nothing special about the food to make it worth the price. If I am going to drop $100 pp on dinner then I'm going something amazing and this place was just underwhelming. The wine was OK but the mark up on a $9 bottle of Beringer is crazy. $50! It seems as though they want to be a high end restaurant but the food isn't special enough for the price. I can't say I would go back. It was Restaurant Week, so I understand that its a limited menu but I checked out the regular menu too and wasn't wowed. The place was empty. For the last night of Restaurant Week on a Friday, the place should have been packed."

Fantastic, Great service,
friendly, courteous professional staff. Great Chef"

We saw Taste on the Restaurant
Week list and decided to give them a try .... we were REALLY glad we did! The food was very good and the portions were spot on! The staff were very friendly and attentive. I wouldn't hesitate to dine here again in the future. Now that they are on my radar, I will definitely be going back!"
Dined on 9/18/2013
I like this restaurant because it
is quiet and a good place to go and talk after a movie. Food a varied bar menu. A little pricey but it is a hotel, so expected."
Dined on 9/14/2013
This restaurant is situated inside
the sheraton hotel. The restaurant and lobby are beautifully decorated and it has a great atmosphere. There is also plenty of parking along front Street and the other side streets using the meters which makes this possible free and cheap in terms of finding a place and location to park when going out to dinner. The food was very good and we had an array of things on the menu that ranged from small plates to full-sized entrees. I just wish that my cheese fries had more jalapenos on them. The fried raviolis with jalapenos were really good and the jalapenos added just a very little bit of kick to the ravioli but was not overpowering at all. Would definitely recommend this place."

Daughter's 21st birthday we had a
very nice dinner and our waitress was the best."
Dined on 7/2/2013
Great experience but it was a
little pricey for breakfast."
Dined on 3/10/2013
We arrived later than expected so
we were not going to have a full dinner. The restaurant was a perfect fit for us. We were able to enjoy a cocktail and have a lite meal."
Dined on 2/14/2013
Absolutely loved this place. Great
food and even better service. Wine list was excellent. Will definitely return and suggest this place to my friends."
Dined on 1/31/2013
Located in the Sheraton Hotel.
Comfortable setting. Attentive service."
Dined on 1/30/2013
Fun, friendly, welcoming staff.
Food was good and arrived quickly. Our server and bartender was very kind. Excellent wine list."
Dined on 1/30/2013
My husband and I went to dinner
for restaurant week. We never thought to dine there previously due to the fact it is a restaurant in the hotel. We were very surprised and will recommend to friends. The service was great- very attentive and accommodating. The decor is very swank and modern. The food was great- especially the salmon! I would definitely consider taste an unknown neighborhood gem."
Dined on 1/29/2013
The place was empty, but the food
was great. The service was attentive, and I will definitely be back. The restaurant is not visible from the street, though, making it hard to find. Thank goodness for Restaurant Week!"
Dined on 1/28/2013
My husband and I went here for
restaurant week and it was fine. For a hotel bar/restaurant it is superb. For a local restaurant/bar if you live down the street, we were not super impressed. I said if I was staying at the hotel from out of town I would have been impressed but as compared to other places within walking distance of our house, it's a little lack luster. The food was basic, tasted good but was nothing special. Service was great and the decor is cool. I could see going back to hang out at the bar for a drink or two but would probably recommend someone else if you are local."
Dined on 1/24/2013
Made a last-minute decision to
have dinner here after the 6PM New Years Eve fireworks at Penns Landing. We arrived 25 minutes early, but were seated immediately. Our server was helpful and attentive, although as the restaurant filled up the attentiveness did wane a bit. Food was great, drinks were good and surprisingly reasonably priced given that it was New Years Eve. Glad we ate here - would definitely go back again!"
Dined on 12/31/2012
We were there for New Years
Eve--staying at the hotel, and thought it would be convenient. We only wanted a sandwich--so this worked great. We had soup and a burger. Although the burgers were rarer than we wanted, the food was overall very good. Not sure if the noise level was up because of the holiday or not. Overall was a good experience."
Dined on 12/31/2012
No one greeted us when we walked
in. I don't think there was even a hostess working at the time. There was no one eating at any of the tables and maybe 3 people were at the bar. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was very nice. However, the staff was on their cell phones and reading magazines while we were there. Food was crazy over-priced and drinks were as well. The food was only decent. I will never go back. Even for a hotel restaurant this was a terrible experience."
Dined on 12/30/2012
They have a limited and pricey
menu for the amount of food you get. The food was cold when served. The service was decent and engaging."
Dined on 12/8/2012
Great spot at the Sheraton Society
Hill. We ate there two nights in a row. The flatbread is fantastic!"
Dined on 11/23/2012
Everything was Excellent. My wife
and I had a great time. We drove 30 miles just to have dinner here."
Dined on 10/13/2012
My friends and I really enjoyed
Taste! We all agreed that the food was amazing! Although I plan to return, I am hoping that our server will be friendlier next time. He definitely lacked personality and was not interested in small talk. Overall, the food is worth the so-so service."
Dined on 10/9/2012
I guess I should have known. It
was Friday of Restaurant Week, which I'm told servers hate, and by the dour look of our waiter I guess he must be one of them. The meal was good, nothing great, and the hostess was lovely, very cheery and competent. But the waiter couldn't have cared less we were there. Seemed rather a bit put out, in fact. We felt rushed even though the restaurant was less than half full. We thought perhaps they had a second seating and were trying to get us out for them, but no. No big rush ever came. Ah, well."
Dined on 10/5/2012
This place surprised me... the
food was very good! Im not sure if I truly liked that we sat next to the pillar but it was also nice to have privacy. THe other side of the bar appeared more romantic than the side we were on but still a great find in the Sheraton!"
Dined on 10/5/2012
Loved the modern interior design
of the restaurant. We went here for restaurant week and were very happy with the food choices. The steak was tender, the flatbread was delicious. Food came out quick and service was friendly. I'll recommened this restaurant - even though it might be easily overlooked, since it's located in the Sheraton Society Hill hotel itself."
Dined on 10/4/2012
I would definitely return to this
restaurant. My friend and I decided to try this restaurant during restaurant week. The food was amazing and was served in a very timely manner. Our waiter was very attentive and made sure we had no issues, and he was the only server at the time. I love the quiet, romantic feel of the place. I will be coming back."
Dined on 10/4/2012
I didn't realize when I made
reservations that Taste was inside the Sheraton Hotel. I probably would not have eaten there if I'd known this. But the restaurant was nice and the food was good. My friends and I had a great time and it was a good place to catch up. They have a nice wine list and the bar was nice as well."
Dined on 10/2/2012
We went for a very early dinner
during restaurant week, so it was quite in the restaurant. But the staff was very attentive, the food was very good and all very well presented. Im not an expert and Im very easy to please with food, but this was a very pleasant experience and the rest of my party agreed!"
Dined on 9/30/2012
Great beer selection! I went with
my husband on a Saturday., I had the chicken and my husband had the steak. He is very particular about how he likes his steak, so when he asked for medium-rare, the steak came exactly as requested. Always a plus. My chicken was also very delicious. The restaurant itself was beautiful and the service was great! We will definitely be returning."
Dined on 9/15/2012
Typically we try to avoid the
in-house hotel restaurant, but we are glad that we stumbled in to Taste during our stay. We sat at the bar and had the best time chatting-it-up with their extremely friendly bartender. We order the tomato mozzarella small plate to share, which had a different twist on the typical version you find everywhere else. I ordered the salmon, which was delicious. The cous-cous was cooked to perfection and the herbed butter was a nice addition. My husband ordered the steak which a prepared exactly how he wanted it. We enjoyed a few beers from their locally-crafted selections. We were not aware that Philadelphia was such a beer "Mecca". Anyway, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal"

I ate dinner on Saturday September
8, 2012. the dinner was outstanding. My wife and i both had the strip steak. It was cooked perfect!!! I Would recommend the taste restaurant to all that visit Philadelphia. I do wish the lounge would open before 4:00PM on Saturday's. We would have liked a cocktail when we arrived at the hotel but we had to go out to do this. Overall, it was a really good experience!!!"
Dined on 9/8/2012
Food was good but not great. Very
good service but we were the only customers there. I don't even think people knows it exists inside the Sheraton."
Dined on 6/8/2012
limited menu but food was of good
quality. All 4 in our party were pleased with their meals. Service was excellent - atmosphere was very nice but still casual. Bar area was good - TVs but not everywhere amking it feel like a chain sports bar. Prices were fine for entrees but high for sandwishes/bar food."
