A word from Tashan
A traditional Indian greeting awaits you at your table: "Namaste" which "welcomes the divine within you."

Tashan takes its inspiration from an age old approach to fine dining. Traditional Indian royalty would graze their way through a succession of grilled delicacies from the Tawa, Sigri, Tandoor and then finish with a single dish of a special curry or grand biryani.

We invite you to immerse yourself in 'Our India' exotically fused with a unique modern ethnic edge. The communal dining service lets you share our small and intricate entrees.

All our dishes are cooked to order and will come to your table the moment they are ready, so expect a gentle flow of dishes and let us help you through this journey of a memorable meal.

If you cannot find the reservation time you are looking for, please call us to inquire about seating at our beautiful lounge area, or outdoor cafe.

Service really good. Don't think Indian when you go. They had a few traditional Indian dishes, but most of the dishes were fusion style. The food was very good. We had the tasting menu with wine parings. Great survey of the menu. Personally, I thought the seafood was the weakest, but we are splitting hairs here. Would definitely recommend if you are in the mood for something different! Be adventuresome.

You could only order the pre fixe menu if the whole party was ordering from it, which our waiter did not explain. The menu was confusing and the prices were expensive for the portion size.

We have been to Tashan several times. This time portions have become smaller and the wine list much more expensive. It no longer passes my good value test.

Took my girlfriend here for a birthday date night, and this turned out to be one of the best restaurants I've come across in a little over a year living in Philadelphia. Food was a great and rather unique take on Indian, and service impeccable. Atmosphere is quite dark and modern, but regardless pretty attractive for a date or some other more private and special sort of occasion.

Always looking for less expensive restaurants to try. Saw Tashan rated as $$ and thought we'd check it out. While it is possible to eat for $30 each you'd have to really work at it. We shared 6 small plates and each had a beer. The bill was $90.

Friendly, sincere servers -- but seemed to be understaffed in light of number of servers and ratio to diners. Staff therefore seemed at times inattentive, and at least one special order was messed up (but server apologized profusely afterwards). Buffet provided good opportunity to sample a variety of good food. I nevertheless intend to return.

We had a phenomenal dinner . Each dish was beautifully presented and delicious . The service was excellent . Our only complaint was that the prices are very high for tiny portions (ie $19 for 2 minuscule pieces of salmon ). I won't ding the restaurant because everything was so yummy .

As a first generation American, I've been looking for tasty Indian food around Philly. I've even brought my Midwestern boyfriend over to the dark side of masalas and naan. Tashan was good. The recent Diwali menu offered a four course meal. The Bombay bhel app was good but the slightly overwhelming tamarind and cumin flavor was a bit too much towards the end. The bitter chicken had a delicious gravy but slightly on the sweet side. The desserts were interesting. It's a fusion place but the rice pudding was a bit too orangey. A bit on the expensive side. A note about wine pairings: our water seemed to pick whatever wines he wanted, not necessarily paired by a sommelier. The wines were all towards the end of the bottle. Suspicious for $25...

Tashan has always delivered with exceptionally delicious food since its opening. Our server, Sessions, was very friendly, provided great food & drink recommendations, as well as overall service. For anyone that is skeptical about Indian food I would recommend an introduction by eating at Tashan. The Indian Fusion menu may look intimidating, but there is something for everyone.

We have always had a wonderful experience at Tashan from the moment we go into the restaurant. The greeters are very friendly. The waiter who we have had twice is just as attentive and service oriented as you could ask. The food is always interesting and I love the small servings that we all can share. We celebrated a birthday and the flaming chai and the candle in the crème brulee was very nicely done.

My friend and I have been wanting to visit Tashan for sometime now and we were finally able to make our way down Saturday evening. They have valet, which was very much appreciated. Not too familiar with the surrounding neighborhood. The restaurant's decor and atmosphere was sublime. Very upscale and beautiful. We were seated immediately and approached by a very nice man named, Sessions. Sessions was very friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the food and wine. He made some wonderful recommendations and suggested the "wine pairing" for my friend and I to enhance the flavors of each meal. The food was remarkable. Every dish made our mouth water and left us wanting more. Overall, a delightful experience!

I have heard rave reviews about this restaurant and was excited to have made a reservation when a family member would be in town. We arrived and the space was beautifully decorated and welcoming. Once we were seated things began to take a turn for the worse. Our drink orders were messed up, our server never told us the Naan bread that we ordered (and was on our bill) was not available that evening, the food runner was rude, and the food was "OK". Not sure we will be back.

Food was great and priced well. The alcohol whether wine or drinks, ridiculous. A bottle of white wine you can buy for under $7 was $58/bottle & $10/glass. House vodka martini, $15.....so our big group doubled the bill w/ a handful of drinks. Best Indian food we've had in Philly though.

The food was excellent! Our waiter was charming and very accommodating to our diets. However the men that bussed our tables were very rushed and even took our plates away before we were done with the dish, not once, but twice. He asked if we were finished as we were clearly still eating from the plate. We couldn't help but just laugh at the situation. However, we understand that it was a busy night. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal and service.

My experience at Tashan was during Restaurant Week. The service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. However, I can only say that the overall experience was good, rather than excellent. Although I had a reservation and the restaurant was only half filled when my party arrived, we were seated right next to the door, despite other tables being open. This was not a huge issue, however it was frustrating because we observed other parties who were walk-ins seated at better locations. Additionally, the restroom was beautiful, but smelled terrible which was a bit of an appetite killer. Overall, it is a lovely place with good food, but I have had better dining experiences with larger portions of equal quality for a better price.

Last year we were here for Restaurant Week and everything was wonderful. Every mouthful made us moan to the point that the table next to us said "We'll have what they are eating." This year not so much. The Kobe beef kabobs this year was a rolled up piece of beef that didn't taste like meat let alone beef. Very disappointing. The mushroom appetizer although good had spices that did not compliment each other. The Butter chicken dish was very good. Pork entrée was flat. Crème Brule excellent and so was the orange rice pudding. We go into Phillie every year for restaurant week. Unfortunately, Tashan will not be on our Bucket list for next year. Must say the service was wonderful and the waiters are very knowledgeable on every level.

We had to eat early (5PM) on a Tuesday. So it was quiet and service was very attentive. Atmosphere is really nice and not cliche. Two of the courses were not great. First one: by appearance (very questionable) and taste. It was supposed to be a kobe beef kabob done with chile spices. It was a red, 1 inch wide sausage (about 5 inches long). You can guess what it looked like. I expected to have pieces of kobe beef on a skewer. Definitely would not choose this item again. Dessert: rice dish with chocolate mousse. Very bland.

My husband and I dined at Tashan on Sunday and participated in their restaurant week menu. We're not exactly foodies nor consistent Indian food diners, but we were taken great care of. Our server, Jason S., was very friendly and upbeat since the moment he approached our table. He described each dish, in great detail, for each course and made some wonderful recommendations (bless his heart for being so patient & kind). He recommended that my husband and I choose different dishes from each course to explore more of the menu, and his recommendations were spot on. Every dish was packed with flavor and spice. We've dined at many restaurants in N.Y., D.C., and Philadelphia, and we both agreed we've never had such great service like this before.
