Tarry Lodge Port ChesterGreat ExperienceService was great. Wine selection was wonderful with nice size pours of the wine. Food was terrific!5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of my favorite placesOne of my favorite places to dine, whether casual or business.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWONDERFUL LUNCHI went with my husband for Mothers' Day lunch. Despite being a special day they had plenty of waitstaff. The menu is exciting and extensive and I wished I could have ordered about 6 more items than the ones I chose! The only downside was that the upstairs area where we were seated was over-air-conditioned. I was seated against a wall and it blew right on my legs. I put a jacket I had with me on but was still chilly throughout the entire meal. I did ask that the AC be turned down, but must have asked the wrong person (food deliverer). Either that or it had no effect. I enjoyed the food so much that even being cold did not ruin my meal.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a party of 10, andWe were a party of 10, and they were very accomodating for a large party. The food was very good and the service was excellent. It does get extremely busy and very loud on the weekends but it is a great restaurant.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently tastyGo on a weeknight for a much quieter dinner and less of a scene. All you will miss is the valet parking.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the variety of pizzas,Loved the variety of pizzas, small plates and entrees. Will have to return to try the pizzas and the pastas. My husband and I both chose two of our favorite fish dishes and were delighted with the results; the whole branzino and halibut with mussels were delicious. Wait staff, manager, sommelier were all attentive and friendly without being overbearing. Having grown up in PC going to Tarry Lodge, I was astounded by the transformation. Comfortable atmosphere, both casual and classy at the same time. Looking forward to returning soon.5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways wonderful. The serviceAlways wonderful. The service was excellent on Saturday night.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent restaurantTarry Lodge is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is always delicious and the service is fantastic. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and ambiance, but NOISYI want to completely love Tarry Lodge. The food is excellent; the service responsive. BUT it is SO NOISY! New restaurants seem to think carpet is gross, but something needs to be done to minimize the noise level. Then it would be perfect and I would love it completely.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMTarry Lodge is always a reliableTarry Lodge is always a reliable place for good pastas and pizzas, but this time we tried the Maple Cheesecake for dessert, and it was out of this world: light, tasty, really wonderful. So we will in the future try to remember to save room for dessert!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've never been dissappointedWe've never been dissappointed with the dishes, even if we've ordered the same dish in the past. Food is consistent and flavorful, a nice variety of small and main dishes. The wine menu a huge list of Italian wines, but the sommolier will help you choose one in your budget range and taste. Wait staff is very attentive.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMVery goodThanks for the glass of wine (we were there before a concert ) the food was fantastic! I highly recommend this restaurant.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and menu. PricesGreat food and menu. Prices good for the food you get. We were charged $17.50 and $15.00 for a Cosmopolitan and Martini respectively. That's the most I've EVER paid for a drink and I dine in top NYC spots often. That was the only disappointment. I'd go back again and skip cocktails.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond but not last.Great food and surprisingly busy on a Monday night. Second time, absolutely not the last.4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food; friendly,Delicious food; friendly, attentive service; lovely decor.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMLiterally every dish orderedLiterally every dish ordered was excellent, from the basic pizzas to the succulent Branzino. Their pistachio goat cheese pizza is a must have, and their pasta with clam sauce was the best I've tasted in 2 years.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant!!!We had dinner there before seeing a show at the Capitol Theater. Its so convenient to the theater. There were 3 of us and we shared a pizza, pasta and a salad. Everything was delicious. We tried the goat cheese pizza with red onion, pistachios and a truffle honey. It was so good. I can't wait to have it again. The orecchiette pasta with sausage & rapini was also wonderful. The service was very good and we made our show with plenty of time. W even had time for coffee and their scrumptious desserts. We will definitely go again.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Fit!Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Tarry Lodge. The casual atmosphere makes it great for families and a date night for couples. Comfortable with great food. A win-win.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service always good.Food and service always good. Upstairs back room was quite cold when we got there but they warmed it up when we asked.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Tarry Lodge delivers! The Tarry Lodge delivers! Great food, pleasant and professional service, and a warm, welcoming room. We have dined many times and have never been disappointed.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is truly excellentThe food is truly excellent for Westchester (first rule of being hungry in Westchester: if you're hungry, get out of Westchester) and very good by any standard. The prices are quite reasonable. The service is first rate.
The tables are a bit close together for my taste, making conversation a bit challenging.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMThere's nothing I can sayThere's nothing I can say about the Tarry Lodge that hasn't been said. Make a reservation, because you'll need one, and you'll be glad that you did. I highly recommend starting with the pizza with Guanciale, black truffles and a sunny side egg. The wine list is one of the best selections of Italian I've seen in Westchester, owing much to the Tarry Wine store attached to the incredible Tarry Market next door. Check both out after your meal.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA great choice whether youA great choice whether you are catching a quick meal before a show at The Capitol Theater, celebrating a special occasion , on a date, with clients or with the family. Food is fresh and delicious and reasonably priced. The servers are very knowledgeable about the menu and the wine. Of course the pizzas and pastas are fresh and yummy. But I really love the vegetables.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent - neverFood was excellent - never disappointed when we eat here3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Resturant!Excellent Food, great service! This time we were pleasantly surprised, food, service and price were great! Pizza with meatballs, hot chiles, and fontina was great. Braised short ribs with polenta, yummy.
We will be back again!
The staff did a great job, too.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMworth the trip!I went for restaurant week which was my first time there. I had food that I normally would not have ordered or eaten and it was fantastic. I will definitely make it a regular.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMAn excellent meal in a livelyAn excellent meal in a lively and attractive space. Noise was pretty loud. Had the seafood and the vegetable antipasti platters which were delicious, and good for our group of 6. OUr group had pastas, pizas, and a halibut entree which was sublime. The staff was skilled and responsive. They are able to handle groups well.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMStarted with a drink at theStarted with a drink at the bar then had an amazing dinner celebration in the dining room downstairs.
We absolutely loved everything!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWaitress was very nice andWaitress was very nice and answered any questions about the menu throughly, but once we received our food from one of the bus boys,
service was lacking. I wasn't offered any condiments, i.e. black pepper etc., waitress or bus boy did not bring or ask us if we needed large spoons for our pasta. etc. I have to chase someone down to get them, while our food was getting cold. Waitress could have checked if we needed any else once our dinner was served. Also the bread and olives that was served was OK!, but could have been more for our table of six, one olive per guess was not enough. We had to track someone down to ask for more. But! the food was excellent.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first visit toThis was my first visit to Tarry Lodge and it didn't disappoint. We went directly up the stairs and were seated in the corner by a window on the second floor so the noise level was not a problem for us. I didn't get to see the main level dining area but the small staircase area where we were seated was quite charming and the lighting was perfect - not too bright but enough to read the menu easily. The food selection was extensive and there were lots of choices in every category. I got the Friday special, Crispy skate, and it was out-of-this-world. It was cooked to perfection for me. I shared appetizers with a friend and both were delicious. Our waitstaff was top notch. Am looking forward to a second visit.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThere were four in our partyThere were four in our party and we were impressed with the professional service, the ambiance and of course the food.We sampled each others choices and agreed that the food was top drawer. However, we thought the portions were too small. Since we'd come for Restaurant week and had to pick from their special menu,we realized that the regular menu portions were better and the prices wouldn't have been very different.Next time-and we'll certainly be back,we'll order from the regular menu!3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWe wanted to try Tarry LodgeWe wanted to try Tarry Lodge and we saw Restaurant Week and thought this was a good opportunity. Invited two friends and my husband and I decided to go. Had a wonderful table and server. Just one of us ordered off the special restaurant week menu and the rest of us ordered from the regular menu. A wonderful pizza with gorgozola, carmelized onions and sausage for an appetizer which all us enjoyed. We added a nice salad with a lemon vinegarette. Two of us had the bolognese sauce. my husband had the orchetti with sausage and brocoli rabe and from restaurant week the gnnocchi entre. That entre was a little on the smaller size compared to the other portions. Enjoyed two bottles of our favorite wine. Service was very nice and not rushed.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing Flavors!Everytime I have lunch or dinner at Tarry Lodge I marvel at the amazing flavors my palate gets to experience! This time it happened to be my birthday and restaurant week, so my friends and I got an excellent deal on an outrageously delicious lunch... a real feast for the senses! A friend of mine, accompanying me there for her first time said: "I've died and gone to heaven!" when she tasted her venison. She and I are French and both love good food. Tarry Lodge never disappoints!3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMthe restaurant week menu wasthe restaurant week menu was better suited for dinner...in fact, didnt think lunch was reflected a good mid day choice3/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFood is consistently wonderful.Food is consistently wonderful. Always difficult to choose what to have since that means excluding tempting choices. Wine list amazing.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMenu selection for restaurantMenu selection for restaurant week was very limited and portions were miniscule but tasty.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWent for the Hudson ValleyWent for the Hudson Valley Restaurant Week and one of us ordered venison off that menu which was a great Winter dish
I ordered the Branzino and beets which was amazing, light and very tasty
Our waitress was professional and very pleasant
My husband was on crutches so we asked to be seated downstairs and were brought to our table immediately
( a first!)
We have only ordered pasta and pizza at Tarry Lodge before but now I am convinced that the "Secondi" menu is really where they shine3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat meal.We went for Westchester Restaurant week, but ended up ordering from the regular menu because the choices were better. Great food, service and ambience. I had pork Oslo bucco which melted in my mouth, while my wife enjoyed the veal special. Unfortunately there was a large group of very loud young women in the small areas here we were seated3/14/2013 12:00:00 AMwe waited to be greeted forwe waited to be greeted for several minutes and the restaurant was not very busy.
No one explained it was Westchester Restaurant Week and Terry Lodge was participating by offering a 3 course meal at a special price (we were given a separate small menu card promoting the special meal).
This was our first visit and both of us enjoy Italian Food. There was no review of the menu by our waitress, we were not welcomed to Terry Lodge by her although she was pleasant.
The food was quite good but for the pricing charged I'm not sure I would return as I can't say service was excellent.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNever DisappointedA group of us went to dinner to celebrate a friends birthday. The staff was attentive but not overpowering. We had a leisurely meal and were never rushed. The food was outstanding. We chose from the Restaurant Week Menu and were very pleased. Several of us had the foie gras which was excellent. The others had the polenta with mushroom ragu as the first course. For the second course, I had venison which melted in my mouth. Several of my friends had the pork belly which they raved about. The gnocchi was to die for! There was room for dessert so we sampled the Apple tiramisu and the cheesecake. The dining room was welcoming, the staff attentive and the wine list extensive!3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMTarry Lodge never disappoints!Tarry Lodge never disappoints. The bar area is very vibrant with a fabulous Italian beer selection on tap along with an extensive wine list. We went here for Hudson Valley restaurant week but ended up ordering our favorites off the regular menu. The atmosphere is classy and comfortable. Service was efficient yet unobtrusive. Highly recommended for date night or a special occasion3/12/2013 12:00:00 AMLunch is even better thanLunch is even better than dinner: $20 specials and no crowds. What a gem.2/22/2013 12:00:00 AMTarry Lodge fine food and serviceTarry Lodge pleased us with well prepared, attractively served Margharita pizza appetizer, wild bass livornese, tuna steak with caponata, and broccoli rabe. The coffee was hot and strong, and we liked the biscotti. We would have liked more vegetarian pasta choices.12/8/2012 12:00:00 AM
