  • "Celebrated our Anniversary here. Food was absolutely delicious - Loved it! Service was excellent as well - very attentive and helpful!"

  • "I asked if the rose was dry and she said, "all our wines are dry" as though that was the most low-brow question I could have asked. She gave us very rushed service, seemed really aggravated that we had questions about the menu, and treated my foodie, Italian father-in-law like an idiot for not knowing the ingredients in the daily special lasagna. When she found out we weren't ordering a bottle of wine (just individual glasses), she shut down and ignored us...hostesses/busboys were lovely. I'm vegan; I asked if the chef would make me a "chef's choice" plate of veggies, she said "we don't do that", so I had to order individual, giant sides as my main course. Food was good, not a revelation, but not rushing back after that service."

  • "Trying ths again. We've eaten here before. The food was good, certainly not overwhelming. However his time it was truly bad. When we heard the specials the two of us fell for the "veal pounded thin". With prociutto and meled cheese it souded great. Then it arrived. The veal was totally dried out and was "pounded" down to thick. It was so tough it was hard to cut with the steak knife they gave me. (Should've been my first clue!) It was impossible to chew. I wouldn't be surprised if it was pork. The cheese was melted so much it was brown and stuck to the prociutto so you could roll both right off the meat. We honestly tried to eat it but couldn't. We'll try again but I would recommede with a warning."

  • "As always the food at Tarry lodge was delicious. Our only complaint was that the Eggplant Parm was cold. This happened the last time. They must prep it in advance and I think it takes longer to heat up than they allow for. I didn't send it back because I didn't want to interrupt the flow. I took it home and ate it the next day. They make a great pizza and the pastas are always wonderful. Don't forget the contorini: both the cauliflower and roasted potatoes were amazing."

  • "Every time I go the food is amazing along with the service. Only thing, the waiters rush to pour the wine refills."

  • "The meal was extraordinary - including the best tuna I have ever eaten. We started with the gorgonzola salad followed by the tuna and than the semi freddo for dessert. Next time I am at the restaurant I will order the same three courses even though I am tempted to try many different items based on the quality of my first meal. The restaurant is a true fine - service was excellent as well as enthusiastic and knowledgeable. A fantastic evening."

  • "i thought i had made a reservation for saturday night, but when i arrived they informed me it had been made for the previous night. they accommodated us immediately - a party of 6 - and the food was delicious. everything was very fresh and tasty."

  • "Valet parking! Hostess very attentive and engaging. Nice table upstairs. Waiter overwrought, he had to oversee everything the buss help was really giving him a bad time and to his credit he soldiered on. Sadly the food was a disappointment..The salad was delicious with the perfect amount of dressing and flavor but the eggplant was bitter and soggy, the ricotta ravioli seemed as if it had been sitting for a while and it was slapped on a plate with no regard for presentation, lastly the goat cheese angolotti was dry and over worked with wayyyy to much anise and salt. The waiter was kind enough to take it back but we were charged for it.Because of the late arrival of our food we did not stay for dessert. This restaurant has great potential."

  • "This was our first time at the Tarry Lodge. We were able to enjoy the Hudson Valley Dinner week menu and each ordered three different items. It was a great opportunity to be able to sample a variety of foods. Everything was delicious. Service was lovely and the Sommelier was very helpful in guiding us to choose a wine. We will definitely go back."

  • "what a fabulous restaurant. beautiful bar, stunning light fixtures, delicious cocktails. do not miss the charred octopus salad. leave room for dessert."

  • "I've heard so much about this place and had been eager to finally get a chance to try it. My parents have been wanting to go for a while now and boy are they jealous I made it before them! Everything was amazing! The pizza was delish and my rigatoni with pork was melt in your mouth good. I can't wait to try about 4 other things that intrigued me on the menu. I will most definitely be going back! Just note, parking in the area can be a pain, but valet parking is available and a small parking lot up past the restaurant, other than that you have to pay for public parking and the meters don't always work...not worth the hassle when they have a valet."

  • "I am very disappointed in my first visit to Tarry Lodge, our guest were at the bar having a drink when we arrived, we asked to be seated, reception told me I had to settle tap at bar then she would seat us. Bartender told our guests he would just add it to our tap? We asked for more details on the menu, about certain dishes, no additional explanation could be added, so disappointed, we had out of town guest and we had told them how great the reviews were, we wanted to share this experience with them. Service was slow, and not attentive. Food was OK, not worth the price, very disappointed in presentation and food."

  • "I love this place! Great ambiance, outstanding food, excellent service; what else could you ask for? We shared the Pesce miste which has a little bit of everything; scallops, calamari, crab salad, perfect for sharing. Pastas are all outstanding, hard to choose. The short ribs were divine, also big enough to share. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes."

  • "This is the forth time we have had dinner at the Tarry Lodge. This time the food we tried new pasta dishes, and although still tasty, they lacked that something special to justify the price. The osso buco was great, as always!"

  • "Absolutely recomended. The pork oso buco and the tiramisu, love it!!!"

  • "4 of us dined at Tarrylodge - shared a bottle of wine recommended by the waitress - that was a hit - Shared a vegetable antipasti which was terrific and all main entrees were enjoyed greatly! Tuna Tatorro, Salmon, and Cornish hen all great! We had no room for dessert but chose to share one also outstanding"

  • "Enjoyed our meal. The only thing we disliked was being served dessert and coffee at the same time. The coffee and cappuccino got cold. The cappuccino also tasted like warm milk with no coffee at all. In most restaurants coffee is not served at the same time a dessert. Overall experience good!"

  • "Great Restaurant! Service was excellent, Food is Amazing, Relaxed environment. The sweet potato soup was terrific and pork meatballs VERY tasty and cheesecake...the Best! Extensive wine list, we chose "La Mozza" it sure was so delicious that we visited the market next door after lunch and bought a bottle to take home!!! Highly recommend this Restaurant!!"

  • "We were very pleased - service was excellent, food was fantastic. Liked the ambience and that it was a lively energetic place. We didn't have the best table, but we were late for our reservation so our fault really. Bar area is fantastic space."

  • "I've eaten dinner at Tarry Lodge many times, but rarely come for lunch. It was Restaurant Week, and their menu had a lot to offer. We ended up with 1 RW menu and picked some other things off the regular menu. The food is always delicious and we had a great time. Will definitely be back for lunch again."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "My friends all liked their entrees--the branzino, the eggplant, etc.--but my chopped salad was the most boring salad I've about ever had."
    Dined on 3/21/2014
  • "Returned for a evening out with 3 friends...have a wonderful time at the bar for a drink first, The hostess was wonderful as our 4th person was delayed. We sat, enjoyed the night, but only realized on the way home that no one enjoyed their Food. As it was a return visit for 3 of 4 of us, we were disappointed. I would definitely return, may have just been an off night."

  • "I wrote before our dinner telling the restaurant where we'd like to sit. When we got there, the hostess acted like it was the first time she was hearing it. And acted like it was such a problem eventhough the restaurant was EMPTY then and even still empty when we left. When we were finally taken to a table we didn't want to sit at, it needed to be leveled and they made us wait while they involved 3 people to do it rather than seat us at one of the other empty surrounding tables that weren't wobbling. The people working in the restaurant need to know the CUSTOMER IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN THE RESTAURANT NOT THEM!! The people running this place always act like their doing you a favor letting you eat there and paying for it!!"

  • "Tried this restaurant during restaurant week - had recipes we never had before - skate wing, sweet potato soup among them. Wished they had a choice for pizza on the restaurant week menu since i heard this place is known for their pizza. Disappointed that the wine list was so expensive. Also expected a more upscale interior - not as fancy as I thought it would be"

  • "Excellent Service. Someone was always filling our water glass and cleaning the crumbs from the table between courses. And the food was wonderful!"

  • "As always, the food and service at Tarry Lodge was excellent! It's so nice to have a restaurant that is so reliable, day in and day out!"

  • "who needs Manhattan with Tarry Lodge in Port Chester-We have had great meals every time we have been here-The Staff is friendly and knowledgeable- the wine list is excellent and does not use up the retirement savings!"

  • "We both got the rutabaga soup:delicious except for gross croutons w strange pickle flavor. I got canneloni, all homemade and super. My mom got the meatballs, which were good except the broth was mega salty. Dessert of cheesecake was incredible. Restaurant was cute. Busboys were among the best i've ever had, just so attentive to our every need. Would go back"

  • "This is my second time at this restaurant. For a brunch menu; it's superior. For ambiance: Beautiful however the service was lacking and the food took too long. Fortunately, I was not in a rush but if I wanted a sunday brunch spot in the future, I would think twice if I was in a moderate hurry or needed to be elsewhere after 2 hours."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "There is no lunch menu only dinner. We wanted a salad with protein, so we asked the waiter if we could get a salad with salmon. He said he would have to ask the chef. He comes back and says that the chef couldn't do it, that we would have to order the salmon entree and a salad. So my guest orders the salad and the entree without the vegetables.... His meals come with the salad on a plate and a piece salmon on a plate (no garnish whatsoever) It was the most unappealing presentation I have ever seen. I will never go back. To not have some sort of lighter meal on a menu serving lunch is bad enough but the attitude of the waiter and chef speak volumes. There are too many other good restaurants in Port Chester to be bothered with this one."

  • "Treated my best friend to a birthday dinner - we were both happy."
    Dined on 3/10/2014
  • "This is pretty solid execution but the staff seemed to care less that drove a half hour to one of the worst towns in Westchester to park on the street and spend a lot of money...kinda like it was just a basic work night and we therefore have to work! The gentleman who opened our wine was great and about the only service highlight. The food was very good and doesn't disappoint for sure. Desserts might have been the best part though which seems odd to me...should 1 of our pasta dishes blown at someone away?"
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "Service kind of slow and it wasn't busy yet food not up to par for such famous TV food personalities maybe they should check in on their restaurants a little more."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "The way the restaurant is divided in 3 parts is very odd and counter-productive. The tavern part - the largest - lacks personality and style. The "black" color theme certainly does not help. A "Brasserie" or Italian Inn style would be much more successful. The elongated "regular" ground floor part is small and feels like an orphan in comparison. This leaves the upstair part which is small but is the only one with style and atmosphere. Why? However, the service and food were excellent."
