I love the attentive service at
Tarragon. The inventive menu has two vegetarian entrees. I tried the Autumn vegetable panzanella with tofu and was pleased with the combination of butternut squash, cubed wheat bread, sliced apple and roasted tofu topped with an apple cider reduction. My husband's strip steak was perfectly cooked and served with mashed Yukon potatoes and green beans. Green salad with feta cheese and a tasty vinaigrette started our meal, apple pie and crème brulee ended it. Tarragon at the Inn at Honey Run offers a delicious alternative to the "Amish experience" restaurants typical of Holmes County."

Excellent food. Lovely dinners are
an essential part of a getaway weekend. We were not disappointed. Kudos to the chef for interesting combinations and scrumptious sauces."

We went here for dinner on
Valentine's Day. It's a great fine dining experience, with pricing to match. The food was amazing, all cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is intimate and delightful. Definitely make reservations, as a couple in front of us (we had a 5:30 reservation) were told their first opening was 8:45 p.m. (of course, it was V's day). The pricing demonstrated their awareness that they are the only fine dining establishment in the area, a departure from the designed-for-tourists Amish-style glorified cafeterias. Plates are already $35-40 AND you usually have to be an extra $5 per side?! Still, would go back on a special occasion."

We travelled about 45 minutes to
this restaurant, & it wasn't worth the drive. Most of the guests were staying the night in the villas (that looked beautiful), & they were just having dinner at the restaurant. We were just having dinner only, & then driving home. They started strong by bringing a honey crusted walnut to the table for each of us, which was a nice touch. Then things went downhill. The service began to get slower and slower. Our dinner took nearly 1hr 45min from time of placement. The food was good, but not tremendous like it should have been for the extremely high prices. Stick with a restaurant you love or try something that's just a restaurant. Go here only if you're staying the night & there's nothing else around."

we went for a late lunch and were
the only ones there. it was a weekday. we were treated like royalty. sat by the window and watched the birds while we relaxed and talked over a quiet lunch. we will definately be back."

The excellent service starts as
you walk into the restaurant. It is a very quiet and beautiful place for a romantic evening or just too enjoy someones company!! The food was prepared perfectly and tasted wonderful!! I would recommend this restaurant even if you are not staying at the Inn."

This restaurant is in Millersberg
Ohio about a houtr South of Medina. The trip to and from was backroads and enjoyably peaceful. The atmosohere is romantic to say the least and the service was friendly and comforting at every level. We definitly felt like we got away but were not too far away from the hustle and bustle."

Serene setting, quiet atmosphere,
attentive, friendly and respectful service. This restaurant and Inn exudes taste and class. You will feel pampered without being smothered. The food and wine are very good and the potions appropriate. The dinner menu is not huge but definitely not boring. Besides- How many meals are you planning to to order?! If you are looking for heaping helpings of ham and hash, look down the road. This is not an Amish restaurant! The prices match the quality of the food and the impeccable service. By the way- don't be fooled by the "Continental" breakfast. That was the biggest Continental Breakfast we've ever had! Awesome stay, and we'll worth every penny! We WILL be back."

Enjoyed our stay at your Inn very
much. The room was great with fireplace and whirlpool tub. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was calm and serene. Delightful. Food was very good, prepared just right. Told my friends who are now planning ti visit your Inn, and have been telling all of their friends. Thank you. Natalie."

Unfortunately, our waitress was on
her last day of employment at Honey Run, and I don't think her mind was on her work. She entered the wrong order for my entreee (quail instead of the duck that I had ordered). So, it took a long time to arrive. When it did arrive, my duck was moist and flavorful. Bill's steak was good, but nothing special. Yes, it is a bit pricey, for a romantic, slow-paced meal, we think it is worth the price."

Most unique, quaint, perfect
getaway spot! Stayed in the honeycombs and was truly impressed which included a free happy hour drink and app and continental breakfast. Great service!"

We found Tarragon to be a effect
spot to celebrate our Anniversary. Quiet and Serene. The service was very good and not overdone. We would recommend this restaurant."

Food and atmosphere were
excellent. Hidden on a back road in Millersburg, if you blink you could miss it, but worth the trip."

Had dinner here years ago & looked
forward to returning. The dining room had changed, less tables & bigger wait area. Had a delicious $30 lamb dish, however it was served without the root veggies that were to be incorporated within the dish. $8 peanut butter tart was not impressive. Also, everything except a petite salad is extra ... at least $5 for mash potatoes or asparagus. I know this is not unusual in high scale establishments, but too much here. Wait staff all seemed new, as 3 told me they had been there 5 wks or less. Clearly, there is a staffing turn over issue here. Good food, but over priced. Will not return."

I must tell you - your rest is my
special occasion rest I love to go to. However my husband & I came to dine on Mon nite (our 35th wedd anniv) & it is the first time I was disappointed w/ my meal. I had the smoked porkchop - It really did not taste smoked & had a strong porky taste. It was hard for me to eat. Also I wanted to upgrade my salad from what came w/ my meal to your wedge & I was charged a whole side dish charge - I was told it would be an upcharge so I expected a dollar or two but was charged $5. I also ordered a side dish of asparagus & that was tough & very stringy & I had a hard time eating that. The spaetzle that comes w/ the porkchop - I didn't eat it - it was very bland. I was disappointed in spending $109 for this meal ;-("

too small. Not a big fan of ordering a la carte."

We went to Tarragon for the second
time in a year, and found the menu this time to be much pricier than last, and the food was not greatly improved. While the atmosphere, service, and scenery (just walking in the place felt calm) was outstanding, we were hoping for a better overall experience. We had a bottle of wine that cost $32 that was just ok, and two of us ordered the spaghetti which sounded exotic (with cranberries, goat cheese and walnuts) but turned out to be dry and not very flavorful. The other two were quite pleased with their choices, but with nothing on the menu under $23, it should have been stellar, especially since there are choices in the area that offer a great value for great food (coffee shops, Rebecca's, cafes)."

We spent the night at The Inn at
Honey Run, and enjoyed dinner and breakfast. All excellent, outstanding baked goods for breakfast. Limited wine list, but excellent selections."

Great food. A little on the pricey
side but worth it."
Dined on 11/2/2013
Terrific ambience for a quiet,
romantic dinner. Service was wonderful. Food was fine but overpriced for the quality. Solid variety of choice and options given small size of restaurant - may explain the higher cost. Overall a solid experience but not great value."

Outstanding restaurant - great
food & service. Honey Run offers beautiful scenic views of the woods - with plenty of birds and wildlife to watch in the trees outside the dining room full length windows. Dining room offers a quiet atmosphere with linens on the tables. A great spot to dine for a quiet gathering or romantic get away. Menu offers great variety - desserts a must have. At our recent lunch - we ordered the cottage pie, barbecue chicken and steak salad all were excellent. Our dessert choices upside down apple pie & cheesecake were outstanding."

Great food pairings and food was delicious"

I choose this restaurant for its
high rating as a fine dining experience. What I found was a very overpriced and food that was less than good restaurant. Lunch for one forty five dollars? I had the salmon with creole rice that was tasteless and dry. No bread was served and the drink prices outrages. would never go back"

Two times recently I brought
friends for lunch for their birthday. They had never been and enjoyed the food and the lovely setting. The service was prompt and friendly. It was worth the drive to come."

While watching the leaves fall
from the spacious window table, we marveled at the outstanding flavors and combinations of the food as each course was served. An absolute favorite was the butternut squash cream soup with dried cherries/apples. My retired produce industry husband was thrilled to discover his asparagus roasted perfectly. His food related training was satisfied when our steaks were prepared exactly as we preferred. The upside down apple pie with the toasty crust chased by the full bodied "The Inn at Honey Creek coffee" ( deliciously "spiked") were the finishing touch to a memorable evening enhanced by the gentle background music of a piano."
Dined on 10/15/2013
A pleasant experience overall,
while we stayed overnight at the Inn at Honey Run in the woods! The onion soup was the best we've ever had. My husband had the scallops, which were delicious and it was what I should have ordered. Instead, I ordered the lamb shank, of which I did not know that it would be served as a stew, in a bowl, with a spoon, on top of a large amount of white beans that were mashed. This did not agree with me, needless to say. The lamb was very tender but overpriced. The continental breakfast was excellent and enjoyable. Service was friendly."

MY husband and I celebrated our 1
year anniversary at tarragon. However it was a horrible experience and not worth the money spent. Out waitress was very rude and unfriendly. She moved very slowly and I sat with an empty water glass the entire Evening. I felt like since we were a younger couple, she didn't think we would too well or deserved good service. I will never come back or recommended to anyone."

Tables full, 2 servers. Wait,
wait, wait. When asked about menu item told "will be back, have food to serve."

We dined here during our stay at
the inn at Honey Run. The views are beautiful and the ambience was lovely. Other than salads being overdressed (to me, my husband thought it was fine ) the meal was great. Scallops and pork belly was excellent. Do save room for dessert. We are here three times during our stay and the pastry chef makes a range of excellent options. If you have time arrive I time for cocktails on the deck."

My mother and I had a very nice,
quiet relaxing dinner at Tarragon. I had the quail entre which was very good. My mother ordered the smoked pork chop entre. Unfortunately, the waitress brought my mother a Moroccan chicken entre inadvertently. I went ahead and ate my dinner while my mother waited about 10 min for her pork chop dinner. I thought perhaps we'd be given a complimentary dessert for the error, but that did not happen. It would have been a nice gesture."

We came to the Inn for our 37th
Anniversary and had dinner at the Tarragon. We had Scallops and Filet dinners and both were wonderful! I think the Filet Mignon was the best I ever had! Only regret was being too full for dessert! Not inexpensive but worth it:)"
Dined on 10/3/2013
The restaurant is very cozy, with
white tablecloths. The service was attentive but relaxed. The food quality was very good as was the presentation. My wife had the filet and it was a perfect medium rare with a nice charred crust. I had the grilled snapper. The dish looked great but the fish was way overcooked. I sent it back & the second time it was better. But my wife was finished when I got my second meal which kind of put a damper on the evening. Our waitress was very apologetic but did not offer anything for the inconvenience. At most upscale restaurants I am always offered a complementary dessert or drink by the manager who comes by. Breakfast is excellent. Poached eggs & salmon over English muffin w/ dill cream sauce was great."

Loved the food and the atmosphere.
It was a beautiful spot to eat in this area. All the trees and wonderful view was breathtaking. Would go back in a heartbeat. Jenn"

We are locals and went to dinner
with out of town guests. We had a very good time and out trout was outstanding. The side salads were only so-so. Our only complaint was the lack of staff. It appeared our waitress was soley responsible for managing everything on the floor. The host or maitre de was absent, we saw no one bussing tables, only our very capable waitress was bustling about leaving us feel slightly unattended."
Dined on 9/27/2013
My husband and I had 2 breakfasts
and 1 dinner at Tarragon during a recent stay at The Inn at Honey Run. The continental breakfast of fruit, muffins and oatmeal was simple but filling. My husband loved his chef's special pork dinner while my flank steak was overcooked and chewy with chunky and undercooked side vegetables. The dessert options were good but the waitress served us a cheesecake with walnut crust despite our annoucing a nut allergy. No real bar area and ambience overall is a little off. Tarragon is probably the best fine dining choice in that local area - worth the visit if in area but maybe not worth a special trip."

My husband & I were celebrating
our 35th wedding anniversary & decided to stay out in Amish country & have our celebration dinner at the Tarragon at the Inn at Honey Run. The venue was beautiful! The service was great! But the food which is tasty but the portions were ridiculously small. I had a Salmon dish and the piece of Salmon was tiny about 2" X 3". It consisted of about 2 bites of fish. I was done eating in 5 minutes. My husband had a beef, mushroom shepherd pie, which was also very tasty but it was in a soup crock, with a layer of mash potatoes and a layer of the meat. The layer of potatoes was the majority of the dish. The meat was very fatty and there were no mushrooms to be found. Prices were good, but not sure we'd return."
Dined on 9/23/2013
Tarragon is probably the best
(only?) upscale restaurant in Amish country. That said, I wouldn't get my hopes too high. The food is adequate - certainly nothing compared to the many fine options in Cleveland 90 minutes away. Be careful about your bar tab; the drink prices are astronomical."
Dined on 9/22/2013
The food and ambiance were great.
The server was knowledgeable of the menu, pleasant, and prompt."
