Tarpon Bay at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & SpaExtra Special Service and FoodWe probably had 8 different staff members helping us during our dining experience. Food was incredible along with the presentation by the chef! The next time I am visiting this area I will definitely return! I was in the area to get fitted for my wedding dress which came up in conversation with the manager. When it came time for dessert, my dessert had a special message in chocolate that read "Congratulations Bride-To-Be!" This just topped off the experience we had throughout the evening!!6/8/2013 12:00:00 AMNice EveningResort dining...higher priced and no dress code. Swim suit coverups next to people celebrating a special occasion and dressed up. Food was excellent.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMOff-season perhaps even betterSitting on the screened porch watching the Florida cloud display is a fine way to spend a Sunday evening. Late in May the seasonal crowds are not so prevalent, and the wait staff and the kitchen are especially attentive. Fish tends to be featured in a wide variety of presentations. Prices are not like Wendy's.5/19/2013 12:00:00 AMTarpon Bay - A Hidden GemWe tend to visit the Tarpon Bay restaurant on special occasions. It provides a nice atmosphere either inside or out on the patio overlooking the small lake and fountain. The service is terrific, always first class. And the food never disappoints. Their ceviche makes a fantastic appetizer and the seafood is always fantastic. Our meal this time also included local vegetables cooked to perfection.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome as always!`I have been here more than 10 times over the years and the consistency is remarkable! Ceviche sampler and the whole Snapper is what my wife and I get every time. This time was no different, excellent, excellent, excellent!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's Day dinnerFood was incredible! It's pricey, but you get what you pay for. We sat in the enclosed area which was beautiful. The service was so attentive it was almost too much. The staff were awesome, friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! A great dinner!5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMSmall Restaurant ExperienceTarpon Bay at the Hyatt Coconut Point gives the diner the food quality, style and service one would expect at a high end local establishment in a resort hotel. Everything we had from steak to the Snapper was done perfectly. While at Tarpon Bay you will do yourself a disservice if you ignore the great selection of ceviche; watch out for the conch if you are afraid of spice! However, the conch and the snapper ceviche need to be tried! The whole Snapper, although a bit pricey is well worth the experience. Don't be afraid to ask a waiter for help taking the meat from the bone. The "Norm Love" chocolate and the samples of sorbet brought to the table at the conclusion of diner was a nice touch.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding dining experience.Outstanding dining experience. Service was perfect!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEvery time we dine at TarponEvery time we dine at Tarpon Bay, we become more impressed with the food and the service that evening and wonder how they can outperform the stellar experiences of previous visits. Once again, this evening was outstanding. We were four people and we shared the 8 piece ceviche, each fish explained by our server especially pointing out any item that might contain gluten for our gluten free diner. Three of us dined on shared appetizers and we highly recommend the shrimp/crab salad, the crab cake, calamari, and the lobster mac and cheese. The lobster mac and cheese was a bit dry, like it was held too long, but still very tasty. Tarpon Bay has become one of our favorite restaurants in Southwest Florida.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were excellent.Food and service were excellent. Been here before - this was best dinner b4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMTarpon Bay is an A+!Wonderful food, great service....their ceviche is out of this world! Try the snapper....The hotel itself is absolutely lovely. Great date night restaurant!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial treatment! We usually come here for date night as we are local. We came this time to celebrate our anniversary. Our waiter was amazing and even surprised us with a beautiful anniversary dessert plate. It was fantastic! We will be. Back!4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous foodThe food was really good. The fish was fresh and creatively presented. The dessert was amazing ! We had dinner on the screen terrace. Very relaxing dinner.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMEaster Sunday dinner wasEaster Sunday dinner was our second time to dine at Tarpon Bay. The restaurant was much busier than the first time we dined there so we expected some holiday issues but the entire meal and the service surpassed our first visit. The ceviche choices of snapper, grouper and salmon were larger and more filing than expected and we were impressed with the flavorful use of fresh herbs from the kitchen garden. A shared salad of Key West shrimp and crab was excellent and filling. We had a third appetizer of grouper with an excellent kitchen made kimchee. Be prepared that Tarpon Bay is not West Coast Florida priced so if you enjoy thoughtfully prepared, well presented dining and are used to upscale, larger city prices, Tarpon Bay is a winner.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place to celebrateFrom beginning to end, our dinner was very special at Tarpon Bay. While is it part of the Hyatt Coconut Point, it is in a stand alone building and doesn't feel like a typical "hotel" restaurant. The décor is Old Florida, elegant but not fussy. We all enjoyed a different seafood selection and all the preparations were unique and delicious. The crab cake appetizer and fresh baked bread were outstanding. I had and recommend the Coconut Ahi, cooked perfectly with an Asian flair. They have a full bar and impressive wine list. The service was excellent and the special dessert brought for my husband's birthday topped a perfect dinner. Even our grandkids enjoyed it. We will be back next season and will make this one of our "regulars."3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious food in a beautifulDelicious food in a beautiful setting. The ceviche is terrific. In your reservation, you may want to request a table by a window or on the patio.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWaiter service excellent,Waiter service excellent, hostess extremely unfriendly making it sem like chore for us to be there.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious dinnerThe food was amazing, everything my party of 4 ordered was out of this world. My husband even finished drinking the juices from his seafood pasta with a straw. Quite embarrassing but that's how delicious it was!3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMWe just ordered appetizersWe just ordered appetizers (6 total) since we wanted to try some different things.
Mussels were some of the best I have had anywhere. Flatbread was better than average but not stellar.
Good wine list yet slightly overpriced compared to similar establishments.
Service was exceptional.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMBEST IN TOWN!This is the best restaurant in town. Our waiter Rick was top notch, very detailed and truly enhanced our experience. Our food was outstanding and loved the view looking at the water on the screened in patio. First we had the fried calamari, with pickled pepper and house made sausage yummy! Then a elegant shrimp crab and tangerine salad that we fully recommend. For our entrée we had the butter poached lazy mans 2lb lobster and a 16oz Ribeye smothered in fries and bleu cheese. The lobster and steak absolutely melts in your mouth. We skipped dessert and had champagne at the bar and listened to the band. Bartender Ray was very entertaining too. He made us laugh. All in all when looking for THE BEST place to dine one answer TARPON BAY! LOVE IT!3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMTarpon Bay got it right fromTarpon Bay got it right from my first call. I called at the last minute to change our reservation from 4 to 5; not a problem. We were cordially greeted, promptly seated and the entire meal was in place: ambiance, great service, delicious, well prepared food. 5 guests,, 5 different appetizers, 5 different entrees and each dish was delicious. Now by Florida standards, food was a tiny bit pricey, but if you are used to larger , inner city dining, the portion size certainly made up for the prices. Most of all the quality of the seafood served demanded the price. We are locals and this was our 1st dining experience at Tarpon Bay. It’s already at the top of our list for a special meal.3/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is a very good restaurantThis is a very good restaurant in a very nice hotel. Food was excellent and the service did not disappoint. All ingredients are locally sourced. The ahi tuna was excellent and our server was well informed, attentive, and a lot of fun. It is not a cheap night out so for me its special occasions only. But if your looking for a great night out with some great food and some beautiful ambiance you can't go wrong.2/26/2013 12:00:00 AM
