Tark's GrillGreat on a beautiful nightI enjoyed sitting in the courtyard at Tarks on a warm night, although the tables are tightly packed in. We had excellent fried oyster appetizers and then the Salmon BLT and green spring valley salad with salmon. All the food was fresh and well prepared. The food is always amazing as is the service. We arrived 20 minutes early for our reservation, but were seated promptly despite the place being totally packed. We are able to dine outside as requested in our reservation. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had a tiny mishap where the bartender made me the wrong drink, but it was fixed within 3 minutes. We both had the Sea Bass and it was delicious. The ambience inside is bland and dark, but not off-putting. The noise level is extreme inside during busy times. The back room is lovely for gatherings, but the last few times, it has been freezing in that room. We were greeted by Cathy, a very friendly hostess, who promptly escorted us to a booth that we had requested. Don't remember our waiter's name, but he was very accommodating. We order the crab cake & shrimp salad & explained to him that we were sharing the food. When the food was delivered to our table, the waiter had already placed half the crab cake & half of the sandwich on separate plates, which is very unusual. We had french fries & cole slaw as well. The food was excellent! We each ordered deserts, a creme brulee & their famous coconut pound cake. Both were excellent! Can't wait to go back! A little under-seasoned, but the quality of the beef was very good. The crab cakes were all jumbo lump, but could have used a little more seasoning as well. The waiter recommended the milk cake with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert - a good one! We also started with some mussels - very good and tender, not overcooked at all. The waiter could have been a little more attentive - my wife sat for a little while with an empty water glass. But overall great experience and would go back.
