Tark's is doing a good job with the office crowd. I was afraid the service would suffer as it was quite crowded, but our waiter was prompt and knowledgeable. I would certainly go there again.

Tark's has a wonderful way with fish, and the other night my friend and I had a beautifully prepared rock fish. It could not have been better. I should have called this little review "Tark's Never Disappoints". It is more than nice to have a "go to" restaurant that always offers a good dining experience.

  • I want to like this place, but ...

We were there early saturday evening when the restaurant was not busy. My wife and I ordered the plank salmon. Here meal was ok, my scalloped potatoes were undercooked (hard and raw). The server returned them to the kitchen where they were nuked, but still unsatisfactory. Additionally, I asked about the vegetable side that was being served with the entree and was told it would be spinach. What I got was a mix of mostly onions and bok choi. I can't eat onions because of a dietary restriction. The server was scarce and never stopped by to ask how our meal was even after I returned the potatoes.Like I say I really want to like this place and it can be very good, not sure how many more times i wish to go back and be disappointed.

For the first time we were able to get seating outside. Then the rains came. Fortunately, there was plenty of seating inside so we were able to get a table right away. Very pleasant waitress. We finally had to ask for bread. As soon as it came so did dinner. We had a pleasant evening and the food was good.

Solid reliable choice close to home with good food. Servers are always friendly and the food is actually pretty good. I do wish they would update the menu or add a larger choice of specials. If you want to actually carry on a conversation, I would recommend asking for a table far from the bar area.

  • Poor Food- taste and presentation

Been here before and unimpressed, but felt we needed to give it another chance. The food was poorly presented and unappetizing. Poor pacing of courses. Waitress was pleasant and tried hard but very busy. The appetizers were very slow to come out and then almost as soon as we put down the forks the entrees appeared. The "Thai" ribs were not tender, under-seasoned and simply brushed with Hoisin sauce but not broiled with sauce on, so both cold and unappetizing in appearance and taste. The soft shell crab was very small, poorly presented, and not flavorful. Prices were relatively high and food was not up to level of a good diner. Definitely not worth a visit, especially for dinner.

This was my first time. Service was nearly perfect. Food was excellent though the menu is not extensive. Restaurant and bar are popular so expect it to be noisy. Not a great place for a quiet, romantic dinner but perfect for a casual get together with family and friends. On the expensive side but food and service are worth the price. I'm not familiar with Happy Hour or bar specials but will have to check those out. Overall, highly recommended.

Fun place with a great buzz! Thankful that we were able to make a last minute reservation. The restaurant was very busy and the service was pretty slow. Once we were served, after waiting a very long time, we never saw our waitress again (she did not serve us). I wanted another drink but was not asked. It's a fun place, but they could use more wait staff.

We needed a comfortable and "yummy" restaurant to meet for a "last minute" reunion dinner. A classmate came back to town for just a couple of night. This was very last minute. We requested a table in the back room. It was perfect. The service (Alice) was exceptional - she knew when to interrupt and when to just let us be as we laughed the entire night. The food was yummy - and not too much. We happened to sit a round in the back room - perfect for 7. it was easy for conversation. Overall a great evening!

  • Disappointing evening

My latest experience was disappointing. An extremely loud party in the back room where we were seated made it virtually impossible to carry on a conversation. At the time we were seated, the restaurant was full so there was no way to ask for another table. Another group in the same room became so annoyed that one of them began yelling at the larger party and were then moved to another room. At that time the large party was brought a bottle of champagne, compliments of the house, for having been yelled at. I have no problem with that, but it might have been a nice touch if someone had asked us if we were comfortable or if we would like to move as well. I dine here frequently and will continue to do so but it wasn't a pleasant evening.

Our waitress in the bar area was wonderful, the food was great. HOWEVER, when we arrived, we requested to sit at a booth in the restaurant side. All booths were available and we were told that we would have had to request a booth when making our reservation. I have NEVER heard that before. We went back and forth with the hostess and ultimately took a booth in the bar once we were told we could not have one of the 4 open tables. The hostess said that they needed to honor requests for the booths but couldn't tell us if they were reserved, nor did she bother to check. Just not a pleasant experience and when we finished our dinner, the booths were still open... it may be a bit before I head back here for dinner

We recently visited Tarks with our three teenagers and enjoyed a nice evening although our meals were inconsistent in quality. The mussel appetizer was very good, as was the Scottish salmon entree, sea bass and chopped salad. The whipped potatoes got two thumbs up! The chicken pot pie lacked flavor and the pork ribs were so-so. Our service was excellent and the feel of the interior was comfy, upscale. We would definitely return and continue to try out the varied menu.

Dined here on restaurant week menu of duck breast. Weather was lovely and we were able to eat on the patio, which was very pleasant. Food was just okay. The veggie side dish of roasted brussel sprouts was seriously over cooked to the point of some of the sprouts being burnt and hard. The lentil side dish was also flavorless. The duck breast was better. One of us has a martini which was served without olives or a lemon twist. I had a glass of wine which was good, but I was surpised at the smallish selection of wines by the glass. Our water was pleasant and friendly, but he kept forgetting to bring us forks. I cannot really comment on noise level, since we ate outside. I also cannot comment on their ususal non-restaurant week menu.

Sat outside with my wife and adult son. Charming courtyard with lovely flowers. Food was terrific and generoius portions. Oyster starter was enough for a meal when joined with a salad. Bartending was a bit suspect. Getting a good Pimm's cup was a challenge. However, the waiter kept trying and finally it was OK. In contrast to the last time I was here when the waiter was really inappropriate. Will be back. Best outdoor seating around.

Disappointing. Tempura Monkfish special was highly recommended by our server. It was a soggy mess. We gave feedback that it was soggy ... no adjustments to the check. The caesar salad was anemic - romaine was more yellow than green. Margarita pizza as a nice little app to share? Don't think so. Picture a thick crust frozen pizza with extra cheese ... not extra sliced mozzarella ... just a lot of shredded cheese. Unlikely to return.
