  • "I have eaten at Tarks many times without issue. On this visit, my party of 3 were the ONLY patrons in the resturaunt section (it was 4:45 PM). I requested that we be seated in a booth, but was told that the ONLY table not reserved was the one we were seated at which was in the middle at the front of the resturant. Overflow bar noise and being seated right by the resturaunt entry door made this seat not the nicest. When we left, the resturaunt remained almost 100% empty. I guess all of the people who had reserved all of the booths were running late- NOT!. Our waitress was sweet and efficient and the food was good, so I probably will go back."

  • "Our Tark's experience was good overall. I have to say that our waiter was a bit intrusive. HE asked personal questions and seemed to want to engage us in conversation. He also kept reaching across one of our party which was also annoying. The food was good and our little room was nice and quiet until a large party was seated next to us and were extremely noisy. The drinks were excellent."

  • "This was our first experience dining at Tark's. Our initial impression was good, including a bubbly server who seemed knowledgeable. However, things went downhill from there. We were served our dinners and did not see our server again until we asked for the check. My chicken piccata was tasty despite being tough and difficult to cut. Our vegetable sides were both very difficult to cut and were sent back, with the replacements being just as hard. My husband's steak was good and the Tark's sauce was very nice. His scalloped potatoes were bland, which surprised both of us. The young man who was circulating among the tables was much more attentive than our server."

  • "The only drawback to this otherwise wonderful restaurant is the cramped quarters. The row of tables was so close, you could not use one of the seats as the servers would constantly be bumping you. High noise level, but the food was very good. Strip steak prepared perfectly."

Service is always outstanding from the minute you walk in the door: hostesses, bar staff, wait staff.   • "Have been the Tark's before but since this was Sunday, it might have been an off day. They did have a big party in the back room and they seemed to have been busy with that. My husband ordered chicken pot pie, which he ordered before, and he felt like it had been sitting around. My chicken was very small, cool and only fair. My baked potato wasn't hot and dry. Very few green beans and also not hot. Our waiter was very boring. Don't think we will go back for a long time."

  • "Nothing Special about the Special! We tried the special, a bid disappointment. The crab was like it came out of a can, the mushrooms and bacon over powered the crab. The whole dish was greasy. In addition, the ingredients in the special were not fully disclosed when being offered. Why is herb roasted free range chicken was not available until after 6pm, when we were ordering at 5:45P ? The bread is doughy and leaden. French fries were ordered but never served. A really off night for a usually great restaurant!"

  • "Each time I dine at Tark's the menu has changed and each time the food is basic and uninspired. Saturday evening I began my meal with a simple salad. It was warm -- not sure how this is accomplished -- and flavorless. Even a healthy dose of fresh pepper didn't help. The chicken piccata was OK. Two of the three pieces were well prepared; one was undercooked. Again, very little flavor. The accompanying rice was satisfying. Dessert choices are pedestrian, but craving something sweet I had a scoop of chocolate ice cream. It was creamy and chocolaty, but I could have done as well by going to the freezer in my kitchen. This is a very noisy spot, at times rendering conversation all but impossible. Don't expect an exceptional meal here."

  • "I ordered the hummus appetizer and was disappointed. The description on the menu made it sound like it came with some raw vegetables and pita chips. Instead of the crisp pita chips I had hoped for, the hummus was served with big, doughy pieces of pita bread that had no crispness whatsoever. The vegetables that were advertised were more like minor garnishes than crisp veggies to scoop up the hummus, which was pretty tasty. There was nothing to each the hummus with but a fork... I also ordered the Maryland crab soup which was mediocre at best with virtually no crab in it."

  • "The specials included a yummy sounding shrimp and spinach soup. I ordered it. It was horrible! it was brown water, with a little bit of something (don't know what) in it- and a teeny piece of a shrimp about the size of my pinky nail. I sent it back- the waiter was apologetic, and took it off the bill. My ahi tuna appetizer was fine- but i've had better. it was $16.00. My friend had the crabcake sandwich. She said the rolls one gets at McDonald's are better than this roll was- hard and tasteless. The crabcake was bland. It came with a huge mound of sweet potato fries, that looked like the kind I have at home that are frozen. The crabcake and fries were $20.00. Location is what keeps the restaurant busy, to be sure. Bar was busy and noisy!!!"

  • "The wife and I had a great Valentine's Day dinner. We were surprised to find that there was a special menu for the occasion was for two (2). Our server Byron provided excellent service and was always available even though he was responsible for many more than a few tables. The atmosphere was definitely upscale...contemporary, yet inviting. The entire restaurant was clean, well maintained, and comfortable. The noise level was such that a conversation could easily be held with four people at the table. The drinks were properly made, and the food was served appropriately hot. The owner or senior manager of Tarks Grill even stopped to determine if we were satisfied. Thank you Byron and all of Tarks' staff...."

When in time there is more competition they will feel it. Bet their per person revenue has gone down over the years. A lot wrong only the convenience and the office center keeps them busy. Nice outside but foid is not why you go there."
