Love, love loved our experience at Tarbells. I had the swordfish and it was done perfectly, my husband had the spaghetti bolognese and the only time he had any better was in Italy! Great job, PS Try the lemondrop martini with fresh basil.

Finally got to go to Tarbell 's. The wait was worth it for the food.... Kale salad and calamari appetizers were wonderful and the highlights of the meal.
The fish tomato chowder was very good too as was the scotch beef. Nice dining atmosphere and very attentive busboys were a plus and although our waiter was polite, we felt rushed ( in an almost empty dining room) . The feeling was made real when he gave us the check after we took the first bite of our desert, plus we didn't get the typical " take your time" statement that waiters use when they want to get the check on the table early.
The desert was the only down point, we shared the bread pudding which was swimming in a bourbon sauce way over powering and the pudding was dry.

When in the Scottsdale area, definitely stop by Tarbell's for a wonderful meal. Their organic menu has something for everyone. The salads are delicious and the spaghetti and meatballs - outstanding.

The food was good as always and the scallops in particular were terrific. The service was not collegial but highly efficient. everything happened on time and was well run like a banquet . Some of the Charm, for me is rubbing off...but there is nothing but good food and good service so maybe its me.

Another very successful evening at Tarbell's. Our favorite for fine dining and relaxed, polished ambiance. Can't think of anything I would change.... except for the unfortunate fact that scallops have left the menu. Great food, very good service albeit a bit harried due to the fact that every seat was taken. Already looking forward to a return visit.

This was our 1st visit. The service was excellent. We liked the atmosphere and decor very much and the size of the restaurant. The menu was geared to " comfort food" -- very traditional food items excellently prepared. The wine selection was quite good -- especially by the glass when choices are usually pretty limited. I thought wine prices for a glass of Malbec were high. We had an early reservation 5:30 that they easily agreed to move to 6 pm. It was clear that they were into table turns since both courses -- salad and entree came out very,quickly. Usually it's the other way around and you wait forever to get anything. I would definitely go back and recommend it.
