Well he LOVED Taranta!! Yeah!!!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMMy boyfriend and I went toMy boyfriend and I went to Taranta on Saturday night. We had a reservation for 8pm and were seated right away. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We didn't have to fill our wine glasses once the whole night. We sat at the first floor but it looked like there was more seating upstairs. The place is small but not overly noisy. The food was delicious. We shared the mussels to start which were more than enough to share and good sized mussels. We definetly recommend them! Entree portions were great sizes as well.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMOur first experience at Taranta. ROur first experience at Taranta.

We were a party of eight, and we were the last seating of the night.
Our waitress was outstanding. She was only 21 but her knowledge of wine and food was amazing. She had a great sence of humor and was patient with us. The antipasto was great as was the goat salad. 4 of the party ordered the pork chop and our server said that whenever her dad comes in this is the only entree that he gets. The chicken was delicious as was the fish special of the night.
We have dined at Taranta 5 times now and I have never been disappointed.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful. First time weWonderful. First time we had been there. Probably the best restaurant we have been to in the North End. Outstanding food, wine and service. Note - limited liquor license and $$$ but neither took away from our fantastic experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe were a group of 4 and allWe were a group of 4 and all shared. The mixta salad was fresh and big enough to share between 2. My husband loved the salmon & I am still savoring the chicken. I have had this same dish there repeatedly over the years, and the layers of flavors still call me back, especially the incredible sauce.
Service was impecable as always.
Taranta is our "go to" for out of town company, pre-event dining, and any time we are downtown Boston.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent, serviceFood was excellent, service excellent, would return again.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved the food, Peruvian isLoved the food, Peruvian is by far my favorite food and I enjoyed the italian twist. Pisco sour was awefull though, if you've ever had an authentic Pisco SOur in Chile or Peru, you'll be dissapointed on this one. Other than that I totally recommend this place.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMService is attentive withoutService is attentive without being intrusive. Ambience is quiet - no TV, no live band, no canned music. You can actually have a conversation!3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMOf the 3 restaurants visitedOf the 3 restaurants visited during RestaurantnEeek, this was the best. Small and cozy plave, with excellent service. Our only "complaint" is...$16 for a smallish glass of wine? Really?!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMThe restaurant was above ourThe restaurant was above our expectations, surpprising us with original combinations of foods bvlened into a true fusion of italian and peruvian cuisine. the chicken raviolis were sublime as was the salmon. The desserts were equally accomplished. An excellent and sophisticated restaurant for discerning apalates.3/24/2013 12:00:00 AMDefinitely recommendThe service was excellent - one person in our party was 30 min late and they gave us no problems holding our table the entire time (on a Saturday night!). The food was really good - I gave 4 stars because it was very salty. Otherwise fantastic experience.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMA true gemI went here for Restaurant Week 2013 and was nervous because I have eaten here when it wasn't and had impeccable service, amazing food, and a wonderful time. I was worried that with a pre-fixe menu and a low price point that some how it would affect the dinner.
So glad to say, it did not! The food was great again, portions were enough that we had trouble finishing our desserts because we were so stuffed. Service was prompt but not rushed although you could tell slightly that the waiter was in a bit of a hurry, not to get us out, but because he was working the main floor with just one other person. But he was the same waiter I had before when I dined there and he was just as personable and professional as before.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went for our first timeWe went for our first time during restaurant week. Worth a visit.3/21/2013 12:00:00 AMbostonflyboyWhen I made a Restaurant Week reservation at this North End place I assumed it was another Italian restaurant -- considering its name sounding Italian. Boy was I surprised -- happily! It was eclectic Peruvian. The food was excellent. Glad I made the mistake and I did not miss not having Italian food. I will go back. It is small, intimate, with no bar and a very attentive waitstaff. No fluff, just good food.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had the Restaurant WeekWe had the Restaurant Week menu, mixed drink with Peruvian Pisco and wine. The food was delicious--mussels, squash soup, lamb shank, salmon, guava cannoli, and tiramisu.
