"It was a very relaxing comfortable evening sitting on the first floor on a warm Sat. night. The windows were open and it allowed us to feel like we were dining alfresco without being outside. We started with special drinks of the house accompanied by garlic shrimp on rabie, special argula salad with a great combination of beets and pecans with a side of goat cheese. The special fish on green spring risotto was amazing and my husband enjoyed the house porkchop. Will definitely return to try some of the other specialties. Also liked that we could get a reservation on a Sat. night and didn't feel rushed."

"Boring food - not much taste and trying too hard with the Peruvian/Italian mix. Hopefully the owners will realize this soon and make some much needed changes to the menu"

"If you are looking for "Italian with a twist" I would highly recommend Taranta! Enjoyed one of the best meals I've had while dining out. Had the mussels appetizer which was outstanding (and I generally don't like mussels). For my entree I had the fusilli with smoked peppers served in parchment paper - amazing!! We requested and got a special table by the upstairs window. Service was impeccable. Our waiter was from Algiers (forgot his name)and he was very helpful in recommending meals and wine. He also had a special dish made for one of our "non-adventureous" guests. If you want great food, great service, wonderful ambience go to Taranta. You will not be disappointed!"

"This is our third time at Taranta. We live in New Jersey and make it a point to stop when we are in Boston...looking forward to our Taranta seating all the drive up. Tasty and novel food combinations that are truly a revelation with each bite. The only thing to watch out for are the portion sizes: fit for a BIG appetite. Regardless of how hard we try, we have yet to get to what is undoubtedly an amazing dessert menu. Maybe next time!!!"

"This was our second visit to Taranta and we were not disappointed! As always the food was DELICIOUS. They had a new drink, the Peruvian Sangria, made from Chicha Morada that was simply amazing! I love how the chef combines Italian and Peruvian food to make wonderfully delicious food. We're from NJ and Taranta is, and will always be, on our list of restaurants to visit. Although the waiter did not check on us during our meal, he was very helpful when we were placing our order and making suggestions."

"Second visit to Taranta. Original cuisine. Very good antipasto. Filet mignon with crushed espresso bean crust over greens and pureed yams was delicious. The algarrobina-vincotto sauce on the Filet en costra was superb."

"It wasn't our goal to go during Restaurant Week so we were disappointed with the limited menu. The mussels were stupendous -- fresh, delicate, not overpowered by the broth -- but the other dishes, although well prepared, were not up to the reviews we had read. Double pork chop and salmon were well prepared in a workmanlike way. Desserts were mediocre and one of us was very disappointed that both were custardy-like things (cannolli and tirumisu) and NO CHOCOLATE anywhere. Will go back when the entire menu is offered."
