Diner Reviews
  • "The management of the Tap Room is wonderfully accommodating. We have eaten there for special occasions and the service is always outstanding. This time we requested seating on the Terrace and were graciously provided seats overlooking the valley, including the hospital where I serve. Our brunch was delicious, with choices including prime rib, salmon, made-to-order omelettes, pastries, and even bananas foster and blueberries jubilee! We had our daughter and 3 year-old granddaughter along, and the Tap Room provided the requested booster seat and then removed it when gd chose to sit in one of the regular seats. Our waiter was very attentive and graciously took a picture of our group. Altogether a fantastic experience!"

  • "Had a nice family get together only thing we were upset about was there was to be Jazz the night we were there and we were there over 2 hours and we didn't enjoy it."

  • "Normally when we attend brunch at Hotel Bethlehem the food and service are excellent. This visit the food was OK, and the choices were mediocre. The service was terrible. We waited fifteen minutes before our server came to our table for drink service. After getting our food, I sat down and noticed my spoon had dried-on food. I flagged the waitress down for a new one. She never brought me one. She cleared our plates and told my husband she'd bring him a new knife. She never brought one. Our water was never refilled. Very surprising of this hotel...not the norm."

  • "We had a great time with Tap Room and I will definitely go back to have another memorable experience with them. Jake gave us an impressive service. The first-rate food we enjoyed so much. I have encouraged my friends to experience Hotel Bethlehem's Tap Room. Thanks to the management because you are doing a good job."

  • "The musical brunch is WAY overpriced. Yes, there was live piano, but that wasn't enough. It's hard for a regular person with a regular appetite to make the most of a buffet anyway, so the food has to be spectacular, but for just about $35.00...?! The food was nothing special. I would have hoped for more seafood selections for that price at least. We were seated right along the high-traffic corridor by the front desk...I know someone has to sit there, but that wasn't great. We had a very similar brunch at a restaurant in the mountains recently (which included cocktails) for about $12.00 less. $35.00 is ridiculous. Never again. Maybe that price was advertised online, but I never saw it, which is why we tried it."

  • "First, the noise. Three diferent sources of music, a piano player/singer in the lobby, piped in music through speakers, a live band playing loudly at an event on the mezzanine. What a cacophony! Then, they were out of several menu items, including the 2 different entrees that my husband and I ordered. The food that we did get was good but the overall experience was pretty bad. Seems like there is always one or more issues at this place. Too bad; it could be so great."

  • "We've been to the hotel Bethlehem many times and it seems like it is on the downswing. This time was the worst. The tap room was really cold and we had to move our seats out of the cold air conditioning. Another couple we ended up seated by mentioned they did this too. The staff was unfriendly and there seemed to be tension. The food was just ok. Probably will be on the lookout for another Main Street hangout at this point."

  • "Great setting for an old historic hotel. Food and service was good at the Sunday Brunch, there were times when we had to wait for things that had emptied, but the staff was courteous and helpful. If you have never been, I would recommend this as an experience."

  • "We went for Sunday brunch on Father's Day. It was good but not worth the price. Since it was a special occasion we thought we'd treat ourselves. We will not go again on a holiday as it was not worth the $39.95 cost at all. The breakfast items were great but the lunch/dinner items were a disappointment. Not a great variety. Desserts were a disappoint too."

  • "The Sunday brunch is excellent! So much food to taste and enjoy! We greatly appreciate the "kid food table" that includes kid favorites and crayons, coloring book packs, cars, etc for the little ones to keep busy with while mom and dad really do get to enjoy the food and each other. Our kids are 4 and 6 and we always ask to be seated by the window for their entertainment and the gorgeous view. The hotel is beautiful, the staff friendly, food is great, and the location is lovely."

  • "A bit disappointed with the choices for breakfast for the price. Only omlettes and french toast. Would have liked regular eggs or eggs benadict. Thought choices for lunch were better but was there at 10:30 for breakfast. Set up too was very congested. Very small area for when alot of people were in line. Went thru the omlette line then the syrup was next then the waffles. Had to butt in front of someone for the waffle first. Lines could have been on both sides for some of the items."

  • "It wasn't busy for a Friday and we had a great seat by the windows which was great for people watching on Main St. The food was surprisingly Fantastic. I expected great food but it was the best meal I've had in a very long time. My mom and I both ordered the scallops and it was AMAZING. I will have to go back again just for the scallops. Nice wine choices by the glass and the service was perfect. There was a wedding that night and it was fun to hear the festivities going. "

  • "We had a wonderful dining experience for our anniversary brunch with another couple who shared our anniversary date. The food was scrumptious and ample, the atmosphere overlooking historic downtown Bethlehem was breathtaking and the service was there when required. We wholehardly recommend the restaurant for a unique dining experience!"

  • "My son and I have gone before on Thursday Night Jazz, knowing food was at best average, but for the music. This week the food was more fair than normal, and the music was loud and overbearing for teh size of teh room - overall a very disappointing experience and we both said we would probably not go back."

  • "My sister and I had drinks by the street view window and pleasantly passed the time enjoying the drinks and the view. Our meals were perfectly prepared and paced to maximize enjoyment. The fillet was tender and the scallops were sweet and delicious. Classy sophisticated dining. "

  • "This is probably sixth or so visit to Tap Room. Good food, very good service and a very nice and historic ambience. Took three elderly parents and it is an easy place to get in and out of, and has good menu selections for all. We asked to be moved to a different table due to a/c, and it was immediately accommodated."

  • "My wife had been wanting to celebrate Mother's Day at the Hotel B's brunch and this year it happened and also included my Mother and our daughter. A good time was had by all. The food and service was very good as in past times at the brunch. Not sure when we will be back but we will be back sometime in the future with the same expectations."

  • "I dined at the Tap Room for the very first time on Mother's Day. The menu was limited because (understandably) there was to be a full house expected. It was a wonderful experience. Our waiter was very polite and the food was absolutely delicious. The atmosphere was both classy and historical and made for a memorable day for my mom and me."

  • "Disappointing food choices, way over-priced I have been coming to the Sunday buffet since the day of my baptism, the day after our wedding and continuing until this past Easter, almost 62 years. It has gotten progressively more disappointing. Three salmon dishes at once? No beautiful desserts to admire viewing and enjoy eating? This has been our experience several times and we won't be returning."

  • "I can't have gluten and there were a lot of GF options for me! Plus there was a lot of different choices; fish, meat, eggs, salads, etc. A little pricey for Easter, but the best brunch buffet I have come across in the Lehigh Valley. Went with 6 other people, all thought the food was fantastic! "

  • "Great brunch with a wide array of food choices including made to order eggs and waffles. Good seafood choices and staff were always replenishing the buffet line. Only downside is that they charge for each drink but do not make this known. Thought it was unlimited champagne but found out it is pay y the glass!"

  • "Brunch at the Hotel Bethlehem has become a tradition. My family loves it. The food is great and the piano music is a nice touch. Kids under six are free but they have an entire station dedicated to foods they will eat. They also have coloring books to keep them from becoming bored. I highly recommend it for a special occasion as it can be a bit pricey but worth every cent."

  • "We were entertained with wonderful Irish music for St. Patrick's Day. The harp was a great background. FIrst time we had corned beef and cabbage. I love that we can sample a wide variety of food. The desserts were such individual masterpieces that my daughter took a picture of her plate. And the hand-cut smoked ham was to die for. Loved the custom omelets and Belgian waffles with fruit. And definitely recommend the orange juice and pineapple juice. I'd love to find out if either can be purchased."

  • "This was our 1st time dining at the Tap Room in the Hotel Bethlehem. I decided to take advantage of the filet mignon lighter fare dining option. The dinner was very tasty and nicely presented. My spouse tried the corned beef and cabbage menu item and thoroughly enjoyed the entree. Overall we were pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere and dining experience."

  • "I was in the neighborhood, not solely for St. Patty's Day, but it happened coincidentally that I was dining at The Tap Room during the Bethlehem St. Patty's Day celebration. The staff allowed patrons to enjoy themselves lively with out being too bothersome to dinner-diners. The food was delicious and I will definitely go back next time in the vicinity."
