  • "This is my second time coming back here. Love the ambiance and great food. However, I made reservations for 915 and wasn't seated until after 10. Our waiter also took a very long time to come back to see if we needed anything and then to bring our check. Our food came out quickly. "

  • "Nice food and atmosphere but felt like been in Tokyo subway. No real care about customer service. Not fast food but fast food"

  • "Had an amazing time at TAO Uptown! Service was great (the bar tender was very busy for drinks so it was easier to order through the waitress) but food was amazing and well worth the wait to our table! Lychee martini was delish! We had the red curry scallops & coconut shrimp! Defiantly the best Chinese I've had in a long time! Will definitely reccommend and go back next trip to NY! "

  • "I went to Tao in Vegas and loved it so i was so excited to go to the one in Nyc for my birthday celebration. I loved it. Delish. "

  • "A fun place to take friends who are in from out of town. Lively atmosphere. Good wine list. Very crowded, even for a 6:30 pm Thursday dinner. I don't think the food is any better than other sushi places, but love the giant buddha statue."

  • "..should you visit this restaurant :-) Despite having made a reservation, we found ourselves waiting for more that half an hour in the "waiting room" to get our table. We were told to wait in the bar, but it felt more like a waiting room. It was so crowded, no seats available and impossible to get to the bar. When we finally had our table we realised that this is a beautifull place afterall. Great food, good service and a beautifully decorated room with a huge Buddha. Unfortunately the music was so loud it was impossible to have a conversation, which is why I would not call this a romantic place. Our visit at Tao could have been great but the waiting, crowded bar/waiting room and loud music made it a less succesful experience than expected."

  • "It is a good restaurant with great decoration and fashionable ambience. Very busy and noisy. "

  • "Wow! The food is amazing. I had Red Snapper and it was beautifully cooked. I loved the atmosphere and the music. The cocktails were original and I would recommend anyone visiting New York to get a table booked for this restaurant. Best meal of the trip!"

  • "I have been to Tao numerous times and I have yet to be disappointed. I have been a patron with a large group as well in an intimate gathering. No matter what size the party, the service is ALWAYS impeccable. The food is ALWAYS delectable. The staff is ALWAYS attentive, friendly and accommodating. The Ruby Red Dragon is my go to beverage of choice. ;)"

  • "The food was delicious! The duck spring rolls and sushi were stellar. The thumping music makes it hard to carry on a conversation. The Buddha looming over us was fun. Definitely a trendy New York place to go before or after a show."
    Dined on 4/16/2014
  • "We had to wait, despite arriving before our reservation time. However, it was worth the wait. Excellent food and drinks. Design of restaurant is beautiful. Even our 3 kids loved the dinner. "

  • "Hadn't been there in a while. Seemed to be much more of a tourist spot than I remember it. Had to wait 1hr after reservation to be seated which is typical there. Once seated the food and service were pretty good. "

  • "I've personally been here many times. The food and ambience are great, just wish we would've had a better table as our dinner was with out-of-town clients and we were tucked away by the booth next to the bathroom stairs and completely missed out on any kind of decent view of the restaurant/buddha etc. The wait-staff was friendly."

  • "Every dish was unmemorable. We ordered Kungpao chicken which tasted like sweet and sour chicken. Quite disappointing."
    Dined on 4/13/2014
  • "I had a few customers fly in for meetings on a Monday, this place was an excellent choice to take them to after a day full of meetings. The music still allows you to hold a conversation without the need to yell but also takes you into a lounge relax fun mood. They were very impressed and the food was excellent we all shared both appetizers and meals."
    Dined on 4/14/2014
  • "We made reservation but still waited an hour before being seated. Our waitress was great but it took awhile to get our food. The service generally was slow."

  • "Attitude, more attitude and even more attitude ... Can't believe how rude the front desk was, if I hadn't have had guests I would have walked out. We had one guests who was late and we were refused access to the table until they arrived as once we are seated we can't order for any late comers!! ... We were told we could just order for the guest and take a guess on what they wanted, or just don't let them sit with us!! Very inflexible place with a serious ego and bad attitude, even the server gave me a talking to when ordering a cocktail I mis pronounced!!! Shame as the food was very good and a nice buzz in the place."

  • "Great restaurant, greeting warm & friendly, shown to table reasonably quickly, only thing was Service was super quick, like they wanted you to eat up & go, which I was not impressed by. I hadn't finished my Appetizer & the Waiter brought the main course! I thought this really rude, I understand they were busy but this was unacceptable to me!"

  • "FIRST TIME IN NYC AND TAO WAS THE PERFECT PLACE TO TAKE A TASTE OF NYC'S NIGHT LIFE. IT'S THE PERFECT BAR-RESTAURANT, WHERE YOU CAN EAT ASIAN STYLE FOOD AND DRINK SPECIAL COCKTAILS WITH GREAT ATMOSPHERE AND MUSIC. I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT!"

  • "I went back this time with a friend. And it was so great! He loved the food and the ambiance. For me the food was a little spiced, but we experience a really nice dinner!"

  • "Even having a reservation for 7:30 we did not get a table for 2 hours, don't show up hungry."

  • "Every time when we come to NYC, we have to go to Tao's - it's always awesome there... Expensive, but awesome. Unfortunately the table was never ready - even we had a booking..."

  • "The ambience, interior deisgn, and cuisine are great for a night out."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Ambience was perfect for a mother and son lunch. Food was fine. My one criticism is the lousy music which was an 80's mix. It didn't fit with the tranquil vibe set by the enormous statie. It was obnoxious listening to the servers singing along."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "The ambiance is unusual and very vibrant ! Food is ok some dishes better than others!"

  • "I come to this restaurant for every special occasion and was a little upset because it was 4 of us dining at a small sized table, the waiter tool our order and offered to combine out food for the sake of space, we declined but the fact that he brought our starters out at the same time as our dinner was disappointing if you already knew we didn't have enough space at the table. Also why would you bring the starters out at the same time as the main course it made no sense and displayed poor customer service. We had NO room on the table and hurried to eat the starters so those plates could be removed."
    Dined on 4/4/2014
  • "Wait time was really short, maybe 5-10 minutes. Atmosphere and music was awesome, will go here again. Food was delicious as well as dessert (molten chocolate cake)"
    Dined on 3/14/2014
  • "Having to wait over an hour and a half to be seated when we were only 15 mins late for our reservation is unacceptable. There are far better restaurants in the city that offer the same type of food but better overall service. The best part of the night was our waiter, Norman he was fantastic. Definitely won't go again."
