A 16-foot Buddha, which floats above a reflecting pool filled with Japanese carp, presides over the scene at Tao. A favorite destination for celebrities and athletes, this Pan Asian restaurant specializes in authentic Hong Kong Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisines. Tao has three levels of dining including the prized "Skybox" which offers views of this former movie theater unparalleled in New York. In addition to its 300 seats, Tao includes a sushi bar, lounge and two bars at which to enjoy the food and the show. Appetizers range from $8 - $18; Entrees: $16 -$39.     Had an amazing dining experience at TAO New York! Our waitress, Precious, was absolutely fabulous. Super friendly, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. She made excellent recommendations and ensured we were well taken care of throughout the night. Great food, great vibes, and top-notch service!

    Definitely something to experience once. We probably won’t return just because it’s not suited for our palate. Our teenagers loved the vibe so one day they may return. Everything from food and cocktails ran very very sweet. Even when I asked for recommendations on the most tart/sour least sweet cocktail but that was wayyyyy toooo sweet! We loved the spicy tuna tartar on crispy rice app. The triple pork fried rice was good. The pepper beef, chow fun, and gyoza were good but again way way way too sweet for our palate!

    Extremely loud music kills the ambience. Food was below average in taste. This is nyc, have vegan options for heavens sake. Every item in the menu has egg in it. Veggie with tofu only consists of leaves and tofu. Drink was below average and overpriced for the taste. Not happy with the experience at all. And if it's too hard for one person to handle multiple tables please assign more people, had to wait for a while for everything. Upon entrance the hostess couldn't find the reservation too Initially and asked for the name 4 times. Expected a lot more from this restaurant but disappointed
