  • "Great food and service!! Have eaten at Tao many times and will keep coming back."

  • "The ambience was nice. The food was awesome. It is the ultimate hang out spot but I would definitely go on a date here as well. Friendly staff, very helpful in explaining the menu. Overall great experience."

  • "I always enjoy Taos. The menu is quite pricey but delicious. I would recommend increasing the size of the sashimi. The pieces were quite thin."

  • "I've dined at this Premier location of TAO countless times since 2003 & every visit has always been outstanding. From the food that is always consistently Excellent from presentation to taste to the service which has always been impeccably professional, friendly & efficient. This last time however the server we had was a little curt, not very friendly & scarce for most of our dining experience. I dined with a girlfriend of mine & my 2 kids (we were a party of 4). He was an older Asian gentleman who was not very "gentle" at all. This experience definately lacked compared to the 50 times prior id dined there due to his service alone (or lack thereof) but, the food was exquisite as per usual."

  • "Went here for the Restaurant Week and I have to say I was very filled when we left. The serving are huge and everything was so amazing. Presentation was top notch and I think we were lucky but our server was awesome and hilarious. I had the Chicken salad for starter which was so great and a meal in itself. Then I had the salmon which was also very good, and had the Mango sorbet for dessert, although the banana pudding was top notch too. I loved everything! Definitely a must for restaurant week. They only offer lunch for restaurant week but I loved it!"

  • "Excellent ambiance! Food was amazing! Service was very good"

  • "My friend and I love the food at TAO and we have been there a couple of times. The thing that really disappoints me however, is the fact that you always have to wait for at least 30 minutes before getting your table. I had made reservations for 9 pm and we got our table at 9.40 which is really bad. In addition, the waitress gave us the check before we even asked for it."

  • "Love LAVO....went with 2 other coworkers....ambiance was great, food was smashingly good and the service was very good. Thank you."

  • "So delicious. Even with a reservation we had to wait an hour but it was so good. Make sure you end with the giant Fortune cookie for dessert. I look forward to going every time I am in New York."

  • "We had a dinner for a friend the other night and the food and service were terrific"

  • "Me and my friends did like our dinner. Great atmosphere."
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "Great fun place. Vibrant and energetic. Be prepared to wait for your reservation. The lo mein w/pork is very good, the dumplings ok, but the crispy shrimp is excellent as well as the scallops."
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "Noted its Contemporary Asian food. But does Pad Thai has to be sweet? does Kung Pau chicken needs to taste like sweet and sour chicken? does crab cakes need to taste like soggy meatball?"
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "As title suggests the ambience was fantastic. The food was pretty good but not at the same level as similar priced restaurants (still worth it)."
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME MAKING RESERVATIONS BECAUSE THEY ARE NEVER HONORED. EVEN WITH A RESERVATION (AND SMALL CHILDREN)YOU MUST WAIT CLOSE TO AN HOUR TO BE SEATED. THIS IS A REGULAR OCCURRENCE AT TAO. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AND WILL ALSO BOYCOTT AFFILIATED RESTAURANTS. FOOD AND SERVICE WERE MEDIOCRE AT BEST."
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "Food excellent. Staff and service ok. I was hosting a birthday dinner, and the hostess wouldn't seat us as 1 person was five minutes away. Of course I see her seating 2 other incomplete parties. Not sure I would recommend again, it caters to the rude want to be "seen" vacant type as opposed to those that enjoy food and company. A man on crutches was trying to navigate the lounge area while waiting for a table and he was almost mowed down by the indifferent crowd. Again, I think this is all a shame as we enjoyed the food, especially the person who's birthday we were celebrating, but there are so many restaurants with delicious food - and impeccable service - like the Grammercy Tavern, Strip House, Buddakhan - it seems silly to endorse."

  • "Very loud and popular "it" restaurant which means tables are close, customers packed in and service can be slow and inconsistent. Have eaten better but at least I have said I have been."
    Dined on 7/22/2014
  • "We ate here twice. The food is awesome and the wait staff is so professional."
    Dined on 7/22/2014
  • "The food is excellent; the wait staff helpful and effective and the ambiance is stunning."

  • "This experience was not as good. Food was mostly good but what's annoying is I had a reservation and they placed us at a communal table?!?! And it wasn't even a real communal table it was a large booth for 8 that they set for 4 - two on each side. What's the point in making a reservation then?? It was like a walk in table. It's clear they were trying to maximize the money they are making at lunch. Shame on you Tao - this return customer has crossed you off her list. I won't be dining here ever again."

  • "I went to Tao for my bachelorette party dinner, and it was incredible! The atmosphere is amazing, and the food is outstanding. Even the cocktails were great. I had a reservation, and we were seated immediately. The service was great, and everyone who helped us was very friendly. I will definitely go back for a date night or another special occasion."

  • "Very unique restaurant with great ambience and authentic Asian atmosphere. The menu was diverse and our group tried a little bit of everything... dumplings, lobster egg rolls, sea bass, filet mignon, creative sushi, and ultimately the chocolate molten cake. All was delicious! We will definitely visit TAO again on a future visit to the Big Apple. Would highly recommend going with friends/family and sharing."

  • "We went to NY to celebrate our daughter birthday, she had a special dinner, felt great and everything was outstanding. We spent 2 hours there. We will do it again"
    Dined on 7/19/2014
  • "My group arrived on time but we had to wait an additional hour before we were seated"
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Not a great start as our table was 20 minutes late and we were made to wait in a crowded bar area. Once at our table, service was then great, as was the food and atmosphere."
    Dined on 7/18/2014
  • "Tao is a NYC favorite of mine. The food is fantastic, XO Shrimp, coconunt shrimp, and the short ribs are among our favorites. The Atmosphere is always fabulous! Totally fun, but not overbearing loud. Can't beat Tao for a night out in the city."

  • "This restaurant keep impressing us every time we go."

  • "Food and service was great. Loved the short ribs. Buddha was impressive!"

  • "Wonderful atmosphere. The food was outstanding. I probably wouldn't bring my children here for dinner (music is very loud), but it's great for dinner with a friend or date night. Great menu selections."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Despite my reservation, I still waited 45 minutes for a table. Service was poor and rushed. The food was good but not amazing. Noise level was very loud."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "I was called to confirm my reservation and to make sure to be on time as they would only hold the table for 15 minutes. I did get there right on time but alas our table was not ready. The bar was packed with nowhere to sit/stand so we were shoved into a corner waiting for 40 minutes. I asked the hostess twice to try to seat us as soon as possible, we had reservations for a set time. If we have to be there within 15 minutes shouldn't they have to seat you in 15 minutes? The blond hostess was extremely rude and standoffish, basically just said there was nothing she could do. This restaurant needs to get over itself, there are thousands of fantastic places in NYC with much better service, do not waste your time here."

  • "Tao is by far my favorite restaurant. Very chic and contemporary. The food is always amazing and has been consistent for many years since I've been going."

  • "Service, food, and wines first class! Overall highly recommend."

  • "Everything here is done with perfection except the lighting. It is so dark (mood lighting???) I don't think I should need my iPhone flashlight to read the menu. And I was not the only one."
