A 16-foot Buddha, which floats above a reflecting pool filled with Japanese carp, presides over the scene at Tao. A favorite destination for celebrities and athletes, this Pan Asian restaurant specializes in authentic Hong Kong Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisines. Tao has three levels of dining including the prized "Skybox" which offers views of this former movie theater unparalleled in New York. In addition to its 300 seats, Tao includes a sushi bar, lounge and two bars at which to enjoy the food and the show. Appetizers range from $8 - $18; Entrees: $16 -$39.     Precious was an amazing waitress. Attentive, funny, great personality, all around an amazing person. Probably one of the best waiters I’ve had. An incident occurred at the table next to us, and she handled it with poise and ease!

    We highly enjoyed our first experience at Tao. The service was efficient but not pushy. We appreciated the demeanor of all staff encountered. The place was energetic and the food expertly prepared. The Chocolate Buddha is fantastic. Drinks a little on the meager side. We would definitely return and recommend.

    I was celebrating my friend’s birthday, and we had such a lovely time. There were two thoughtful surprises during our visit. When we arrived, the restaurant gave my friend a special birthday greeting, and later, when we ordered dessert, it came with candles and a “Happy Birthday” chocolate piece — all planned by them without us saying a word. The food was absolutely delicious, and the cocktails were fantastic. I had a Lychee Martini, which was amazing, and the dessert was so unique. The service was excellent as well; our server was incredibly friendly, kind, and seemed genuinely happy to be working there.

    We have been coming to Tao since they opened. It never disappoints. It was our anniversary and Nick, the manager sent over a special anniversary dessert platter for us and made it so special. In addition, he noticed us and offered us a better table than where we were seated. That’s attention to detail! Great manager!! Thank you.
