A word from Tao Restaurant and Nightclub
Guests are transported from the City of Sin to the Pacific Rim inside TAO Asian Bistro, a 60,000 square-foot, multi-story “Asian City” housing a restaurant, banquet facilities, lounge and nightclub. Lush velvets and silks, waterfalls and century-old woods and stones accentuate the experience, and the restaurant’s signature 20-foot Buddha watches over every corner of the restaurant while floating peacefully above an infinity pool complete with Japanese koi.

Corporate Executive Chef Ralph Scamardella has developed a menu for the 400-seat restaurant by incorporating culinary components from China, Japan and Thailand. Signature dishes include offerings from sea, sky and land including Chilean Sea Bass Satay with Wok Roasted Asparagus, a preparation of Peking Duck that consistently receives accolades, and Kobe Beef Shabu Shabu along with a full sushi bar.

  • "The apps were very good. Unfortunately the sushi was flavourless and generic. I was very disappointed as I heard wonderful things about TAO. I also felt like we were being rushed through out our meal. I made sure we had reservations so this would not occur."

  • "Great service, nice food, very good music ! The Malbec was also very tasty"

  • "Some really nice items on Tao's menu. The sweet and sour cauliflower was amazing, and my steak was a "melt in your mouth" variety with dried Wasabi crust. We arrived at 5:15 for our reservation and were seated immediately but the service was a bit slow out of the blocks. When taking our orders, the waiter was interrupted several times by bus-boys & receptionists. The food was overall excellent with only the asparagus in wild rice being merely average. The only major downside was that this was VERY pricey (over $100 per person with only one drink each NOT including tip). They've gone the route of "everything is a la cart" so you pay extra for everything including the glass of water if you want one."

  • "Hot spot that suffers from too many guests which means slow and inconsistent service and super loud music which means yelling at each other as you eat. Some good dishes but some very ordinary ones too. Wouldn't visit again."

  • "Sad they changed the menu so much but the food was still great, the waiter was awesome and they even brought out a giant fortune cookie for my friend's birthday. They never seem able to sit you at your reservation time but you can get into the nightclub for free."

  • "We ate the yellowtail sashimi (hamachi) with ponzu sauce, spicy ahi tartare on crispy rice, softshell crab roll with mayo, and satay chicken skewers with peanut sauce. The hamachi was as good as I've ever tasted, but the spicy ahi on crispy rice was the best I've ever eaten! The soft shell crab roll was also a winner! The chicken skewers were tender but I tasted cilantro in the peanut sauce which I did not care for. Overall, the food was excellent!!"

  • "Came before the Rock of Ages Show and service and food could not be better. Pork dumplings were amazing and had a spicy chicken dish for dinner. My wife and I were stuffed but since it was our birthdays they comped us a free jumbo fortune cookie dessert (stuffed with chocolate and vanilla moose and complimented with fruit...too good to be true. Thanks for a great experience."

  • "Crab cakes were awesome, shrimp tempora was weak, only 2 pieces for an app !! Had typhoon lobster for entree, was good but messy to break apart."

  • "We had a great romantic dinner for my boyfriend's birthday. Everyone was so nice! The food was great! We got a table with an amazing view. We also got a free admission to the night club, and it was amazing. Can't wait to visit this place again!"

  • "The restaurant is fun and the food is amazing, one of the best perks is that if you let your server know, they will give you a stamp to get into the nightclub without waiting in line or paying a cover charge."

  • "This restaurant starts you off at the entrance with stone tubs of rose petals floating on water. You enter into the restaurant and are surrounded by Buddha statues in various niches and one giant Buddha in the center. One wall is filled backlit samurai type swords. Add to this ambiance, great food and service!"

  • "So the ambience is nice.. Hostess was very nice and pretty.. Food was splendid and fun.. OUR WAITER WAS HORRIBLE... Did not explain politely what dimsum was or anything on menu but he did have an attitude.. Made us feel bad.. I felt like it was wrong to ask questions because it was our first time there.. Noticed he was very helpful and polite to his other tables though.. Smiling, laughing, explaining specials and all.. Thank God I was way to happy to be upset by his rude and dark service.. I'm a concierge for multiple hotels and casino so I do recommend the best of the best.. Don't ever get the small bald waiter!!!"

  • "We loved everything about TAO. Enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Bartenders were super friendly, taking pics for us and explaining the dinner menu. Our waiter wasn't overly friendly, but he was polite, knowledgable and service was very good. Food was absolutely delicious! We each ordered a dish and shared, and there wasn't one thing that wasn't amazing. Nightclub upstairs to dance your food off when your done!"

  • "Having never dined in a Japanese restaurant we found the menu to be overwhelming with choices but our server came to the rescue and put together a wonderful selection of appetizers (including the most amazing sea bass-could have made a meal just from the sea bass), main dish entrees and side dishes. I highly recommend the Yellow Tail Sashimi w/ Jalapeno & Ponzu Sauce - an amazing blending of flavors; the Grilled Red Sapper was a fabulous presentation and some of the most tender fish I've ever had; I've never had better Pad Thai Noodles with shrimp; orange chicken & mixed fried rice were also good. Since it's served family style everyone gets to try everything - I liked that! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go again!"

  • "Food is always great and the environment is very comfortable. The Crispy Spicy Tuna Rolls are great, the Pork Potstickers are always our choice. The Scallops are the best in Vegas and the Salmon is always fresh and very tasty."

  • "Our family of four ate here on our last night in Vegas. We asked for a different table after being seated right by the bathroom/clean up room doors and they put us in a more scenic area. There was no wait for a table. We ordered too much food - sushi, an appetizer and our main courses. The spicy tuna roll was very nice, as were the pot stickers. The lobster pad thai was just ok, it was actually sweet. My coconut shrimp was great and there was enough Asian slaw that I didn't need the vegetable with noodles side dish, that went to waste. My daughter had orange chicken which she said was the best she ever had, and my son had fish (can't remember which) that he really enjoyed. This is a special occasion restaurant with a cool vibe."

  • "I come to tao each time I am in Vegas. I'm giving 3 stars based on experience this time around. We had a great dinner. After dinner, we decided to go to the nightclub. No one ever came up to our table to stamp our hands. We walked up to the front desk and they directed us to the bouncer in front. I let him know we just finished dinner and didn't receive our stamp, his response "get in line". I told him we just stepped out of dinner and were told to come up to him... "Did you hear what I said, you need to get in line. You are not going to cut all these people. " I was in shock. Nevertheless, I wasn't about to stand in a line that wrapped around the floor AND deal with his attitude again. An experience like this ruined my view on Tao."

  • "I have dined at this restaurant a few times; I made sure to note in my reservation this was for a bachelorette party, and to seat us closer to the buddha for a nicer view; they seated us far away; the waiter was awful, didn't re-read our order when we were confused that he said we only ordered 2 entrees (we ordered orange chicken, sea bass, chili chicken, pad thai, and a large roll). For 4 girls, I thought that was too much food and when one of the girls wasn't sure what if it was or wasn't -- waiter just said, oh you only ordered 2 entrees. He didn't even read back the whole order like a normal waiter would and we were left confused. Also, kind of weird that they don't have free refills on soda..."

  • "The food was great but the night club STAY AWAY. They really over crowd the place to the point you can barely walk and can't even reach for a drink! It's also a headache to get in the nightclub even though you had dinner there. You need to get like 3 stamps. It's ridiculous. I was with a handicap and they even gave him a hard time a made him walk back and forth. Overall we had a bad experience And I would not recommend it to anyone."

  • "I scheduled a 21st b-day party for my son and friends at the Tao on Friday evening the 4th of July. We had an absolutely scrumptious dinner and ended up staying at the night club for an awesome evening of fun and entertainment! I would do it all over again........in fact, I'm scheduling our time next year now for his 22nd birthday:)"

  • "We had an amazing dinner at Tao- it he good was unreal, service was on point, and the crowd was vibrant. It was a bit noisy (to be expected) but it didn't bother us. We had a lovely little table on the second level overlooking the Buddha and fountain. I would definitely go back. Highlights: sea bass, lobster dumplings, and tuna tartare."

  • "First time in Vegas with my wife. We were 2 couples. All food was great from starters to main course. Unfortunately, we fell on a waiter who did not want to be there. It was obvious from the beginning that he only wanted to end his shift and get out of there. It was rush rush from start to end while becoming more and more annoyed. I have never been asked for desert while I'm still eating my main course. The bill arrives before we even ordered our coffee or cleaned up the table. When the time came, we paid our bill then spoke with the manager - although he was very apologetic and wanted to rescue the situation, we were not looking for a handout so politely declined. Great dining experience - just hope you don't get the same waiter"

  • "Secondary waiters were didn't respond to our thank-you's, didn't make eye contact and made it clear they didn't want to be there. Our head waiter went through the motions of what he was supposed to do but didn't respond to our thank-you's either or interested in serving us. Our head waitress the day after at the Cheesecake Factory was a lot busier but still managed to do an amazing job. You go to a restaurant and hope for at least friendly service. We've been to places where the food wasn't great but came out with good feelings about the establishment because of the service. We don't expect servers to go out of they way but we expect them to at least make us feel welcomed. PS... The attitudes of the hosts was the first red flag."

  • "The place wasn't crazy for a monday, much welcomed (I've seen a thurs-sat night here), yet we still had to wait for a table. No problem, to the bar we go. Our bartender, we wished was our server. She was lovely and makes a delicious drink. Quickly swept to the upstairs for a nice view of the place. Was brought tap water without being asked if we had a preference, which we do. After requesting the switch, It took 20 minutes to get bottled water. Everything seemed to take a long time. Including one of our guests entrees. She ordered a sushi roll, and was told upon ordering that it may take a little extra time to arrive. Except that the rest of us were done with dinner before she got her food. A bit disappointed, will stick to NY's locations."
