A word from Tao Restaurant and Nightclub
Guests are transported from the City of Sin to the Pacific Rim inside TAO Asian Bistro, a 60,000 square-foot, multi-story “Asian City” housing a restaurant, banquet facilities, lounge and nightclub. Lush velvets and silks, waterfalls and century-old woods and stones accentuate the experience, and the restaurant’s signature 20-foot Buddha watches over every corner of the restaurant while floating peacefully above an infinity pool complete with Japanese koi.

Corporate Executive Chef Ralph Scamardella has developed a menu for the 400-seat restaurant by incorporating culinary components from China, Japan and Thailand. Signature dishes include offerings from sea, sky and land including Chilean Sea Bass Satay with Wok Roasted Asparagus, a preparation of Peking Duck that consistently receives accolades, and Kobe Beef Shabu Shabu along with a full sushi bar.

Diner Reviews
  • "I've eaten at Tao in NYC and it was great. The Vegas location was an awful experience all around. Rude host, dirty wine glass, an absent waiter, over cooked food, and the giant fortune cookie was stale/unedible. My Pinot noir tasted like dish soap with flat sprite mixed with it. Save your money and eat somewhere else."

  • "We tried the chef's tasting menu - and everything was so good! We had edamame, pork buns, crab cakes, 2 types of sushi, beef, spicy chicken, fish (that was melt-in-your mouth), and noodles! I was so stuffed after eating as much as I possibly could."

  • "You have to watch where they put you, where the Buddha is to your right coming in, at the left there are a number of deuces and they usually line up a table of 20 or so right next to them. Inevitably adds to the noise level of an already noisy restaurant. If you ask to move they sit you by the washroom which is actually quieter"

  • "Our reservation was at 5. We sat down at 5:01. The staff was fun and made the best suggestions! The food was amazing! We ordered a bunch of appetizers and couple of entrees and we all just ate everything! We were sad when it was over. :( we will defiantly be back!"

  • "Although we were a party of 8, it took us 45 min to be sited and only after complaining for 2 times!"

  • "With a group of nine friends. We ordered the Chefs Specials and shared them family style. Huge portions, and everything was cooked perfectly , the Sea Bass, the Sushi and beef ribs were simply amazing !"

  • "I have been to the Tao restaurant several times now. The food is always spectacular. As an added bonus, they throw in a front of the line pass for the nightclub so you can skip the line, which is often long."

  • "We were a table of 8, all with a variety of tastes but wanted to eat family style. Our waiter offered to do all the ordering for us and it was fantastic -- we certainly had many things I would never have ordered, yet loved! This was my 4th time to Tao and it's excellent every time. Highly recommend this spot!"

  • "Beautiful food, great atmosphere, some real gems to order that are not your normal Asian dishes. Highly recommended But its definitely NOT a Japanese restaurant"

  • "We started at the bar with excellent mixologists. Once we were seated the specials were explained by our great waitress. The restaurant was pretty noisy but it was a fun environment. Food arrived and was A-MAZ-ING!!! Thanks for a great night TAO"

  • "The apps were very good. Unfortunately the sushi was flavourless and generic. I was very disappointed as I heard wonderful things about TAO. I also felt like we were being rushed through out our meal. I made sure we had reservations so this would not occur."

  • "We came to Tao for a nice dinner for the Bride-To-Be, we had never been to TAO for dinner and thought that it looked like a fun place to eat. As we had a reservation, it took about 20 minutes to seat us. When we were seated, our server took forever to take our drink order. We placed our food and drink order at the same time. Our drinks took over twenty minutes to get to our table and our food took over an hour. After we received our food, we asked for our checks right away (because we knew the service was slow) and it took about another hour to get our checks. As we are not food critics, the sushi was horrible and we paid way too much for what we received. It was a horrible experience and I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone."

  • "Some really nice items on Tao's menu. The sweet and sour cauliflower was amazing, and my steak was a "melt in your mouth" variety with dried Wasabi crust. We arrived at 5:15 for our reservation and were seated immediately but the service was a bit slow out of the blocks. When taking our orders, the waiter was interrupted several times by bus-boys & receptionists. The food was overall excellent with only the asparagus in wild rice being merely average. The only major downside was that this was VERY pricey (over $100 per person with only one drink each NOT including tip). They've gone the route of "everything is a la cart" so you pay extra for everything including the glass of water if you want one."

  • "Hot spot that suffers from too many guests which means slow and inconsistent service and super loud music which means yelling at each other as you eat. Some good dishes but some very ordinary ones too. Wouldn't visit again."

  • "Sad they changed the menu so much but the food was still great, the waiter was awesome and they even brought out a giant fortune cookie for my friend's birthday. They never seem able to sit you at your reservation time but you can get into the nightclub for free."

  • "Great place for a couple of friends to go out. The food is outstanding, but the ambience is set for going out - not for romance or classic dining. The ambience is more like sitting in a discotheque than a restaurant, which is perfect if you want to go out (especially if you want to go to the Tao Nightclub). If you're looking for great food, you'll find it. If you're looking for a fun night out (girls or boys), you'll find it. But if you're looking for a great romantic or cozy place to take out your girlfriend, this isn't it."

  • "We ate the yellowtail sashimi (hamachi) with ponzu sauce, spicy ahi tartare on crispy rice, softshell crab roll with mayo, and satay chicken skewers with peanut sauce. The hamachi was as good as I've ever tasted, but the spicy ahi on crispy rice was the best I've ever eaten! The soft shell crab roll was also a winner! The chicken skewers were tender but I tasted cilantro in the peanut sauce which I did not care for. Overall, the food was excellent!!"

  • "Came before the Rock of Ages Show and service and food could not be better. Pork dumplings were amazing and had a spicy chicken dish for dinner. My wife and I were stuffed but since it was our birthdays they comped us a free jumbo fortune cookie dessert (stuffed with chocolate and vanilla moose and complimented with fruit...too good to be true. Thanks for a great experience."

  • "The restaurant is fun and the food is amazing, one of the best perks is that if you let your server know, they will give you a stamp to get into the nightclub without waiting in line or paying a cover charge."

  • "This restaurant starts you off at the entrance with stone tubs of rose petals floating on water. You enter into the restaurant and are surrounded by Buddha statues in various niches and one giant Buddha in the center. One wall is filled backlit samurai type swords. Add to this ambiance, great food and service!"

  • "So the ambience is nice.. Hostess was very nice and pretty.. Food was splendid and fun.. OUR WAITER WAS HORRIBLE... Did not explain politely what dimsum was or anything on menu but he did have an attitude.. Made us feel bad.. I felt like it was wrong to ask questions because it was our first time there.. Noticed he was very helpful and polite to his other tables though.. Smiling, laughing, explaining specials and all.. Thank God I was way to happy to be upset by his rude and dark service.. I'm a concierge for multiple hotels and casino so I do recommend the best of the best.. Don't ever get the small bald waiter!!!"

  • "We loved everything about TAO. Enjoyed a drink at the bar while we waited for our table. Bartenders were super friendly, taking pics for us and explaining the dinner menu. Our waiter wasn't overly friendly, but he was polite, knowledgable and service was very good. Food was absolutely delicious! We each ordered a dish and shared, and there wasn't one thing that wasn't amazing. Nightclub upstairs to dance your food off when your done!"

  • "Having never dined in a Japanese restaurant we found the menu to be overwhelming with choices but our server came to the rescue and put together a wonderful selection of appetizers (including the most amazing sea bass-could have made a meal just from the sea bass), main dish entrees and side dishes. I highly recommend the Yellow Tail Sashimi w/ Jalapeno & Ponzu Sauce - an amazing blending of flavors; the Grilled Red Sapper was a fabulous presentation and some of the most tender fish I've ever had; I've never had better Pad Thai Noodles with shrimp; orange chicken & mixed fried rice were also good. Since it's served family style everyone gets to try everything - I liked that! I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely go again!"

  • "Food is always great and the environment is very comfortable. The Crispy Spicy Tuna Rolls are great, the Pork Potstickers are always our choice. The Scallops are the best in Vegas and the Salmon is always fresh and very tasty."

  • "Our family of four ate here on our last night in Vegas. We asked for a different table after being seated right by the bathroom/clean up room doors and they put us in a more scenic area. There was no wait for a table. We ordered too much food - sushi, an appetizer and our main courses. The spicy tuna roll was very nice, as were the pot stickers. The lobster pad thai was just ok, it was actually sweet. My coconut shrimp was great and there was enough Asian slaw that I didn't need the vegetable with noodles side dish, that went to waste. My daughter had orange chicken which she said was the best she ever had, and my son had fish (can't remember which) that he really enjoyed. This is a special occasion restaurant with a cool vibe."

  • "I come to tao each time I am in Vegas. I'm giving 3 stars based on experience this time around. We had a great dinner. After dinner, we decided to go to the nightclub. No one ever came up to our table to stamp our hands. We walked up to the front desk and they directed us to the bouncer in front. I let him know we just finished dinner and didn't receive our stamp, his response "get in line". I told him we just stepped out of dinner and were told to come up to him... "Did you hear what I said, you need to get in line. You are not going to cut all these people. " I was in shock. Nevertheless, I wasn't about to stand in a line that wrapped around the floor AND deal with his attitude again. An experience like this ruined my view on Tao."

  • "I have dined at this restaurant a few times; I made sure to note in my reservation this was for a bachelorette party, and to seat us closer to the buddha for a nicer view; they seated us far away; the waiter was awful, didn't re-read our order when we were confused that he said we only ordered 2 entrees (we ordered orange chicken, sea bass, chili chicken, pad thai, and a large roll). For 4 girls, I thought that was too much food and when one of the girls wasn't sure what if it was or wasn't -- waiter just said, oh you only ordered 2 entrees. He didn't even read back the whole order like a normal waiter would and we were left confused. Also, kind of weird that they don't have free refills on soda..."
