A word from Tango Restaurant
If there is a single food that can represent Argentina, it is beef. The rich grassland plains, the pampas, rest in the shadows of the Andes and feed the people not only their wheat and corn, but also the grazing land for the cattle and sheep. Argentine beef is highly prized for its flavor and tenderness. It is our wish that at Tango you will experience a bit of Argentina and enjoy this authentic and unique cuisine. Buen Provecho!Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "We were a party of 4 on a quiet Sunday night. Food was very good and service was great. Three of us had the skirt steak which was excellent. One had the 20 oz. sirloin, which was also enjoyed. We all loved the chimicurri sauce on the bread and the steak. Overall, a great place for meat lovers. I generally do not eat steak but I did really enjoy the skirt steak and would come again for it. Didn't try the fish or chicken so can't comment on that. Atmosphere was very nice, I especially appreciated not being sat ontop of other diners. And compared to other quality steakhouses, I thought the prices were very good."

  • "I've been going to Tango for a few years. Always good service and if you like meat you'll love this place.Nice wine list from Argentina. Get there a little early because it fills up. Go, go, go......"

  • "Saturday 6PM reservations. Rafael our waiter was very knowledgeable and allowed us to take our time. He recommended an excellent Malbec (wines were by the bottle, only a handful available by the glass), We ordered a bottle of Luigi Bosca DOC that was recommended, My wife doesn't like Malbec, but the LB DOC wasn't a typical Malbec, and she enjoyed it. I loved it. For starters the Dátiles al Tocino is a must. the sweetness of the dates stuffed with the creamy provolone and the salty/fattiness of the bacon one perfect bite. We ordered Entraña (skirt steak) excellent, but smaller than expected and the Parrillada Argentina a mixed grill platter) the veal sweetbreads were excellent but the sausage was a tad soft for me. We will come back."

  • "I would recommend this place if you live close by and it's convenient for you. I am not sure I would consider it something I would go out of my way to get to. My wife and I each orderd steaks (sirloin and flat iron). Sirloin was flavorful but a bit fatty, flat iron was chewey. We sat at the bar (our choice) and although the energy level was good - be sure to avoid going around the time of the "pre-theatre" crowd from the Regent. You will be waiting for food and drinks if you hit this wrong. Wine and drink list is very good."

  • "Tango took my reservation they just didn't know how to keep it. Fortunately for my wife and I we were able to sit and eat at the bar."

  • "Had a family birthday. All of us enjoyed the food and drinks. It is our favorite steak place in the area."

  • "This one made it to our list of places to go. It was lively (as I would expect at a Latin restaurant)! I was sold on the Pisco Sour - a favorite when its made well. The chimmichurri was quite good - coming from Miami, I had high expectations. The price is right. If I lived in walking distance I would hang out at the bar after a long day. The service was fantastic, friendly and the perfect amount of attention."

  • "My skirt steak was over-cooked and tough. The sides and wine were the best part of the meal. Don't order the empanadas as they taste frozen and dried out with hardly any filling. For the price, I was expecting an exceptional meal, not just a mediocre one."

  • "Attentive service, great food, delicious Malbec wine, and no problems with parking. That makes for a fine evening and that's what we get every time we dine at Tango."

  • "My friend and I didn't know where to go, and decided that we would give it a try... we will be back. Lovely reception upon arrival, all staff were attentive and friendly. Food was tasty, nice wine selection. Lighting, the live band, great energy and ambiance. A nice switch from the Boston scene."

  • "Tango was recommended to us by a good friend. my husband I like it very much! The owner was very nice, he came over to check on us a few times. He was very attentive.our empanadas were so good! My steak was done perfectly, our whole party was pleased with their food.Dessert was yummy too.We also had a really good Argentinian wine suggested by the owner too, in English it was called black soul.We will surely go back again!"

  • "I wanted to go to Tango because I love steaks and some friends had recommended the place. My husband invited me to celebrate my birthday. It was worth going ... the food is scrumptious and very friendly service. Highly recommended."

  • "This was the second time my wife and I have been to this restaurant and it won't be our last. the food was very good and the waitstaff quite attentive. It's not an inexpensive restautant but a destination for special occasions."

  • "Food continues to be great here and the ambiance is fun and casual, but service is just slow. Time to take drink order, time for bread to arrive, time to check on drink refills, time for dishes to arrive, and time for check to arrive. On this occasion as on several previous ones, we finish dinner and sit there with empty drinks and plates for a good 15 minutes. The front desk needs to back up the wait staff and observe around the dining room who needs drinks, who needs their plates cleared, and who need a check dealt with."

  • "Great food and great times for a special birthday dinner! Highly recommend!"

  • "We had to lean towards each other to have a quiet conversation on a busy Friday evening. The rolls arrived after the main course and the butter ten minutes after that. We had to ask to have our water glasses refilled. Buteveryone was friendly and the steak and vegetables were delicious."

  • "The appetizers and desert were terrific. The sirloin steak was a little tough and chewy. The sides were great also. Service and bar choices were outstanding also. The only downside was that both of our sirloin steaks were a little tough."

  • "This was my third time coming here over the past few years and they definitely streamlined their menu. For being a steakhouse I wish they had kept more of their steak options. We had the skirt steak and the churasco- both very tasty and juicy. The pure porteno can't be missed. They had live music which was nice but way too loud. I don't think a mic is really necessary for such a small space. Our server was friendly and very attentive. They do however have an unusual system for paying with a card. The server brings an ipad to swipe your card (and re enter the card number) at the table and then holds it while you select a tip amount and sign. It just creates an awkward dynamic as they stand there and watch you complete the transaction."

  • "Recently had a surprise Birthday gathering with a part of 8 and had a wonderful time. Online reservations were a snap and the staff was very accommodating with a last minnute addition of one guest. The food was fantastic! I recommend the skirt steak with one of their speciality sauces. The creamy peppercorn was awesome! Try the bacon wrapped dates for an appetizer and get a couple pitchers if Sangria to get things going. The atmosphere was charming and warm with great accent lighting and brick walls. Our server even sang happy birthday for us! Way cool! We'll be back for sure!"

  • "Although my meal wasn't the greatest I've had there, I still enjoy the place. The ambience and service are always good, I had steak tips in their special wine sauce, which was just okay. The better cut of meat you get, will obviously be better, so next time I'll go for the better quality, higher-priced cut of beef. I would go back."

  • "The restaurant staff were nice, but too busy to really make sure we were taken care of. Being locked into a valentines day menu at $50/person…it really wasn't worth it. Really too expensive for the food, service, and environment. If it had been cheaper or better I would have been happier."

  • "I love the sirloin steak at Tango. We went on Valentines Day and chose from a prie fix menu. The wine list is extensive if somewhat expensive. The food is consistently good and service was very attentive."

  • "The food and service was excellent! Our waiter was informative, polite and attentive. We were able to take our time and have a great evening. It is so nice to be able to set your own pace for dinner. Our waiter made great suggestions for our dinner selection. Portion size was good too. Apps and drinks good too. We will be going back."

  • "Recently went to Tango as a group of 4 and had an amazing time! We made a reservation ahead of time and were seated immediately by the owner who was very friendly. He was knowledgeable of the menu and made recommendations. All four of us loved the empanadas and bacon wrapped dates for appetizers and were more than satisfied with each of our entrees, which included filet mignon, steak tips and stuffed peppers. We were celebrating a birthday and were surprised with a dessert and port wine after our fantastic meal. There was live music which was fun and festive without being overbearing. The night exceeded my expectations!"

  • "I was looking forward to a good steak and I had to send back my churrasco because it had too much gristle. They gave me a skirt steak instead that was good."

  • "They have added the Tango Steak Tips to their menu and they are delicious. As always, the empanadas, chips, and mashed sweet potato/squash were fantastic. And the best is the pancake de leche. Will be back."

  • "Waitress very helpful in selecting appetizers and main courses; kitchen very accommodating of special orders. on the pricey side given that ambiance not outstanding, but--in retrospect--food well worth every penny! We went there with a gift card from Phantom Gourmet, but we will visit again."

  • "Good local restaurant. Does not rise to the level of exceptional. Decent , though not inexpensive, steaks. Can be a little loud at times. Not an intimate dining experience.Service was adequate."

  • "Walking into the restaurant, I could hear a live musician playing guitar. My wife and I were seated in a very nice table next to the window. We started off with the bacon wrapped dates which were very good. I ended up ordering the filet mignon with the malbec reduction sauce which was absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. My sides were the veg of the day and the pure porteno which were both mediocre. My wife got the skirt steak with tango fries and mixed greens, all of which were good. We shared the panqueque de dulce de leche with coffee to finish things off. Overall, we left very satisfied and consider this one of our favorite restaurants in arlington."

  • "I don't know how they manage but, the beef is the closest I have found to Argentine beef's flavor and tenderness. This was my second visit (first one in late December). The menu selections are ample and the two entrees I have sampled so far were both excellent: lamp chops and Bife de Chorizo. Appetizers: Lamb chops (2) in quince sauce was outstanding; provoleta (grilled provolone), empanadas, and chorizo & morcilla (sausage and blood sausage) flavorful and reminiscent of the food available on the Costa Negra many years ago. Sides: mashed sweet potato and squash combination - outstanding. Accompanied by a good Malbec. Service was attentive and very competent. On-street parking is the only negative."

  • "I would have given this a overall rating of 5 if it were not for the service, which was extremely slow the night we were there. Will definitely give it another try as the food was delicous."

  • "We went to the restaurant on quiet evening, following the Christmas holidays, not particularly busy, and that was nice and quiet. I heard that the place is otherwise quite busy. Even though they were running on a reduced staff, I found the service impeccable. The food was very good. My steak (a Churrasco) was grilled perfectly and the starters (empanadas with Chimichurri sauce) were absolutely outstanding. My wife's entree was good, but less satisfactory. She ordered cannelloni, which were ok, but they were smothered under way too much cheese to appreciate any texture. Overall, food gets four stars."

  • "The food was outstanding. The service was a little on the slow side, but our waiter was working a large section that had a party of 6 in it, so it wasn't too bad. The chimichuri sauce is fantastic. If they were to bottle it, I would buy all of it!! Great lamb chops and the tango fries are delicious!"
