A word from Tango Bistro
Tango's menu offers contemporary American Cuisine in a comfortable setting, located just off the train tracks in Bryn Mawr. You can settle in to our Main Dining Room in a cozy banquette, enjoy dining by the fireplace or perhaps the intimacy of a smaller room with bright French doors. Our Train Room is reminiscent of a dining car as the train whizzes by the window. In the summer, enjoy Tango's deck seating. A large wrap-around patio comfortably seats guests under a shaded canopy or along our fabulous Cantina Bar. Voted "2008 Best Al Fresco Dining on the Main Line" by Main Line Today.

Our menu features the comfortable dishes you always love and we feature seasonal specialties with some cultural flare. Tango offers an extensive beverage menu and wine list to compliment your meal.

Diner Reviews
  • "I came her with 3 friends to celebrate my birthday. There was a beer for everyone as well as a very lengthy wine list. We had some appetizers and a full meal. I chose the Scallops which were delicious. The sides it came with were light but very flavorful. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. I was too full to order dessert unfortunately. There was a flourless chocolate cake that looked delicious though."

  • "The food was fine, but the angry waiter was a real put off. Too many good restaurants in the area to deal with rude service."

  • "Visisted last weekend to celebrate my birthday....harvest salad was wonderful, sea bass and asian veges were great! Tango was a great place to go for a wonderful meal!!"

  • "When we arrived at Tango we stood at the hostess stand for at least 5 minutes while she tried her hardest to ignore us. It wasn't until another hostess came to the front that we were even greeted. The first hostess never even made eye contact with us. And we were the only ones waiting... I got the tomato mozerella salad for my stater. It was not the freshness I would expect for price. For dinner I ordered the striped bass at the waiters recommendation. It was over cooked and served over frozen vegetables. If I wanted that type of food I would have went to a chain and spent only a quarter of what we spent there. I had been here previously a few years back and it was excellent....not sure what happened."

  • "Great location, and pretty building. Unfortunately the prices were extremely high while the food was just mediocre at best. Hard to say where they went wrong with the menu...the dishes were pretty basic, with nothing interesting or creative. I ordered the filet medium rare, and it came sliced, drowned in a wine sauce, and well done. It's a shame because the ambience is really quite nice."

  • "My companion and I had a very enjoyable time. Our waiter (Matt) was extremely pleasant and helpful."

  • "We have been to Tango multiple times and just went with couple friends of ours for a Friday date night. Tango is a solid choice on the Main Line and is consistently good. There are more adventurous choices in the Philly area, but Tango is consistently enjoyable. We always like their calamari with two dipping sauces and I always enjoy their latest iteration of scallops. Tango has a nice cocktail menu and the bar scene is generally happening. Reservations are definitely recommended here otherwise the wait can be quite substantial. Bon appetit!"

  • "We always enjoy our food at Tango. All our dishes were great. The servers were attentive, but let us linger over our food with our friends."

  • "Had been to Tango before for dinner was so good wanted to go back again. Went for Brunch on a Sunday was not disappointed. Eggs Benedict was awesome my friend had the Quiche she said it was awesome. The warm kale salad was great. Our server was friendly the atmosphere was warm and cozy on a rainy Sunday."

  • "Catching up with a friend over brunch and Tango was the perfect place!"

  • "I ordered a strip steak "medium" is was far over-cooked as were the "roasted potatoes" that came on the side and were inedible. My daughter ordered duck & even this young diner knew it was not well-prepared. Our third companion ordered mushroom ravioli which she said were great. One for 3 that is not a very good success rate."

  • "This was our first time eating at Tango. I'm mad now that I wasted so many years that I could have been enjoying their cuisine. Everything we ordered was outstanding. We had two items from the specials (Lemon Orzo soup & a shrimp/crab parfait appetizer) and I believe both entrees were from the regular menu - one rainbow trout and one enchilada. My only complaint was that there so many things that sounded good on the menu it was hard to decide. Can't wait to go back."

  • "A friend had an early dinner and completely enjoyed our time there. The food was --as always--fresh and well-prepared. Our appetizer, fish rolls with rice, avocado and slivers of crispy potatoes was a real treat. The swordfish was crisp outside, moist inside and well-seasoned. The service was attentive and non-intrusive. The restaurant was busy but we didn't feel crowded; we were sitting in a booth and could converse without raising our voices although there was a party in the small room a short distance away. Actually I had lunch there the day before so I'm a frequent flyer at Tango--and really like the place."

  • "The restaurant appears to use very good ingredients, but the flavor in the dishes were not balanced and did little to stimulate the palate. A $21 salmon lunch entree should be a bit more memorable."

  • "This go to restaurant, while not outstanding, is conveniently located on the Main Lineand you can li tally watch the trains through the window if you are at a booth in the outer area. My water wasn't refilled, however, but the service was efficient."

  • "We really like Tango. It's always consistent and good. And they have a full bar with good drinks."

  • "Tango had a wonderful menu and the service was friendly and quick. The food was amazing, i had the filet and it was cooked perfectly. We were on a timeline for a show we were trying to get to and they worked very well with our schedule. I will definitely go back!"

  • "Food was only OK but service was very good indeed and the general atmosphere was quite nice if a bit noisy"

  • "Tango has been around a long time, and with good reason. Everyone I know has eaten here, and the report is universal" "Never a bad meal." OK, so they took the enchiladas off the menu, but still, very nice service with great booth in the back."

  • "Tango was always beautiful. But now it's gorgeous with the new renovations. All your favorites on the menu make it comfortable to come back time and time again. Great wine selections. Service is always friendly."

  • "What a wonderful evening with a group of 8. As always, Tango provided a fine backdrop to enjoy a delicious meal. I enjoyed my favorite entree of Grilled trout, sticky rice timbale, and snap peas with Mexican chicken egg rolls as an appetizer. My mango marguerita was delicious as well. Our friendly server was most helpful especially in our choice of wine and most accommodating in giving us 4 bills rather than 1. We tipped her extra for her friendliness and service. Tango consistently provides a varied menu suited to different palates... from Latin to Asian to American. If you prefer something lighter, the soups (usually 4 choices) and salads offer a nice variety. You can even have tacos or a hamburger if you prefer. Superb, as always."

  • "I believe we were the only table our waiter had in the window room. We had to ask other staff members more than once for him so we could order more drinks. The highest profit item in the restaurant! He was absent for long periods of time. The window room was VERY noisy, crowded and suddenly got cold after 9:00 PM. One of us had to put on and wear his coat during dinner! No staff members noticed or asked " Is it too cold in here?" Friend was hit in the face by someone at the next table putting on their coat. Manual carpet cleaner is very noisy. We would have left earlier BUT since our waiter was absent it took forever to order, obtain and eat our 4 courses. We've dined here before and it's never fantastic but just Okay. Never again."

  • "It was perfect for a latish dinner after a movie with a group of female friends. Even though it was somewhat noisy, we had no trouble hearing each other. The menu had a large variety of interesting options and the specials were printed on a separate card (which is always so helpful). The decor is very nice and the service was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant."

  • "This is an oldie but a goodie. Went on valentines for dinner- just love the sangria- the spring rolls are a must. All the fish entrees are delicious- I went for the steak this time- perfecto! The chocolate lava - is a must!"

  • "First time at Tango. Would consider coming again. I wasnt wowed by the meal...but I didnt hate it either. The French Onion Soup was good...cheese was a touch burnt. My Seabass was a ridiculously small portion. My wife had the Veal Meatloaf...it was ok...but it could have just been regular meatloaf for all we knew. The service was attentive, the runners did seem a little annoyed though. If you are going to dine here I recommend not getting a table in the back room...its long and narrow and just stuffy in my opinion."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "Very unimpressed by the food. It looks good on the menu but the ingredients and execution are lacking. The antipasti appetizer tasted flat. The fried cheese was hard and tasteless. The prosciutto tasted like it came from a box in the supermarket. The angel hair entree was over cooked and overseasoned. What a letdown."
