You can settle in to our Main Dining Room in a cozy banquette, enjoy dining by the fireplace or perhaps the intimacy of a smaller room with bright French doors. Our Train Room is reminiscent of a dining car as the train whizzes by the window. In the summer, enjoy Tango's deck seating. A large wrap-around patio comfortably seats guests under a shaded canopy or along our fabulous Cantina Bar. Voted "2008 Best Al Fresco Dining on the Main Line" by Main Line Today.

Diner Reviews
  • "Fantastic place,a gem love looking at the trains go by"

  • "This is a great place for lunch - but not if you are in a hurry. Our table of four ordered soup, salads and fish tacos and it took about 35 minutes for our meal to arrive."

  • " For whatever reason, servIce was agonizingly s-l-o-w, unlike other visits. The kitchen couldn't even get an order for a medium rare NY strip steak correctly prepared (overdone). The steak was taken back and another one was served that still wasn't cooked to order. The manager apologized and deducted the cost of the steak which was expected. It took a terribly long time to bring dessert to the table, once ordered. I think this was our fourth or fifth visit and all previous visits were what you would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. But this visit showed little semblance to the other occasions - new management? short-staffed? I don't know but I wouldn't want to make a future reservation without checking other diner's comments."

  • "Food = good. Service = great. Atmosphere = awkward. There was a new manager speaking to a server for a good 15 minutes without breaking to turn around and realize we were standing at the host stand for a solid 3 minutes and kept talking after we were seated. (Was no hostess until Another server told the girl in kitchen we were there) Other servers speaking loud enough to hear conversations at the server station right outside kitchen door. Also one very drunk man who was trying to get new manager to do him a favor to give his # to one of the female employees. Conversation went on too long & very strange to watch. Overall we spent more time listening to others conversations than having our own as they were so distracting."

  • "We go often and always have a great meal. Good for special occasions or for meeting friends. Service is great. Fun to sit in the train room or for a more formal feel sit in the main dining room."

  • "I love the Brie salad which is consistently delicious and my husband had the filet which was perfectly done as he requested. The service was good and we enjoyed watching the trains. Only draw back was when the compressor came on (don't sit in at he tables near the bar)."

  • "Nice restaurant right next to Bryn Mawr train station. We made a res via opentable on Wed for party of 4 for Friday. I asked to be seated outside (called the Cantina) on the form. We called at 4 to say we would be a party of 5. When we arrived we were given the option to sit inside in a booth or on the outside (front door side) facing the parking lot. Cantina was full. We chose indoors. It was very nice. My friends were pleased with the choice. I had one of the specials: pork tenderloin piccata with gnocchi. Very good. Two of my friends split the Brie salad. I tasted the almond encrusted Brie- delish. Other got crab cake-excellent. Consho Brewing saison on tap. Nice bar up front where we stayed for a drink. Great bartender."

  • "Spent our wedding anniversary with great friends at Tango for dinner. The trout, scallops, and salmon were all excellent choices. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Watching the trains go by is always fun! It was a wonderful evening."

  • "Consistently good. The food seems to have gotten even better than the past. I would be comfortable in going there with anyone--foodies or otherwise."

  • "Tango is one of my absolute favorites on the Mainline. It is affordable, fine dining, and a local gem! The food is always prepared fresh with fresh seasonal ingredients. I usually get the same thing everytime, because the Mushroom Ravioli is just so darn good, but my husband is a junky for their specials that change constantly. Never once have I had a poor experience. Top notch customer service, which I appreciate more than anything this day and age."

  • "Went for Sunday brunch and I had read the opening time wrong, so was early, my friend got there before me even earlier, they were very accommodating and said we could come inside and sit, we opted for outside and they brought us coffee while we waited for them to open. It is a highly rated restaurant in the area and lives up to its rep. The food and drinks were great and service also. The outdoor space is huge plus."

  • "We had never been to this place before and thought it had closed. But, found out it was open and gave it a shot. Mistake. Food is fair (and I think that is generous). Waitress messed up my entree and said that I must have misunderstood her or misspoke. How about, "let me get you what you wanted." (She was great otherwise but I thought that was a big misstep.) I could handle the first two problems. But, when I compare the overall experience with the price on the menu, there's a big disconnect. This place is WAY, WAY overpriced given the experience. Holy cow. I don't know if the experience used to merit this type of price point or if they have raised prices but not the experience. Either way, it does not work."

  • "We had a party of 4 on a Saturday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. Tango was the right selection. The food was prepared well. The noise and crowd level was unnoticeable. Our server was unobtrusive. We were able to focus on our conversations and had a pleasant celebratory evening. We are definitely dining at Tango again."

  • "Great ambience with excellent service as well. The food was beautifully presented and the taste matched the presentation. We will go back again."

  • "Tango is predictable and a bit boring. The food is predictable and fine. The service is fine although the wait person forgot to bring me a salad that I ordered. (just a mistake, it happens). Having been there over 30 times, just would like a menu makeover in some fashion or different specials. It all seems the same."

  • "Went back to Tango with our friends to celebrate another birthday, and had a very good experience. We all enjoyed the gazpacho. Everyone was pleased with their entrees and Christine provided excellent service. Each couple decided to share deserts as we were getting full. Deserts were great. Tango has been a reliable place to go for really good food any night of the week."

  • "Two adults and one 9-year-old had a delicious and satisfying meal. The ambiance seemed to heighten the kid's sense of propriety, but he loved his food as much as we did. Will definitely visit again soon."

  • "I kept reading about the French Onion soup and... it's amazing! My friend loved the Black Bean soup, too. What we really appreciated, too, was that the staff allowed us to stay and talk. This was a first date and we lost complete track of the time. We came in at 1:00 pm and when I next looked at my watch it was... 5:00..!! The staff didn't say anything, but we knew we had to leave when the dinner crowd started entering. LOL So, staff... thanks so much for understanding and we'll be back. (And, I'll look at my watch more often!) Thanks! :-)"

  • "We sat on the outdoor terrace which has a great bar and vibe overall. The gazpacho soup was divine - my husband had the red snapper and I had the filet mignon which were cooked perfectly- would highly recommend on fronts. Great service too!"

  • "Beautifully restored former baggage room of the PA RR at Bryn Mawr. Delight for either special dinner or routine dinner out. Open Table reservation made earlier Friday was available for us promptly at 6:45pm. We were seated in the quiet large room with fake fireplace providing lots of ambience. Extensive menu with many specials in fish, meat, etc. My 16 oz. Medium rare sirloin was spot-on excellent and my wife's veracruz-style fish was very good. Entrees followed a shared Kale salad with tasty vinaigrette dressing, although kale was slightly wilted from sitting in dressing too long. Extensive, affordable wine list ($8-10/pour) and large craft beer selection. Great dessert selection. Good value. Not only for neighborhood folk. Free parking."

  • "Tango is a favorite spot for us. Gazpacho was fantastic - even better than we had here previously. My filet mignon was perfect & I liked their new presentation of this classic entree. Everyone in our party was pleased. I had to bring half home and enjoyed it for dinner the next day. Had no room for dessert."

  • "The crab cakes were special -- full of lump crab. The burger was excellent -- juicy and tasty."

  • "I ordered Eggs Benedict with Salmon which was wonderful. The Vodka/Pineapple cocktail was OK. The Mimosa was better. Calm atmosphere. Service was not at all intrusive (yea!). Only knock: From the photo on Open Table, I thought we would be dining in a garden setting; however, our table overlooked the parking lot. Other than that, all was well. I recommend."

  • "Tango has withstood the test of time. It has been here for years. The service is attentive and the food is fine. The parking is a plus. The restaurant offers deals - birthday specials and points toward cash rewards."

  • "Have been to TANGO several times. Our table was in an area, in the back..place pretty empty Within 1/2 hr..women walking back & forth setting up for a party a few tables away. Most had heels on, felt like I was eating w/a marching band. Very annoying. Many tables empty, it is a big place ..not quite sure why they put us in that area....or why they were put there Food fair. Had quiche, very heavy to digest..salad bland & bread no big deal Not worth taking a train to have lunch here..other than seeing a friend who does not like coming in to town."

  • "the setting was cute, next to trains going by. food lacked polish and interest. Flavors didn't meld together. Chocloate flourless cake tasted like heavy piece of fudge.Veal was chewy. We got to the restaurant a half hour early for 7 pm reservation and hostess couldn't seat us even though restaurant was 3/4 empty. She had to see how 6:45 reservations worked out. If they were going to have a table available for us at 7, how did a 6;45 reservation play into the mix?"

  • "The inside dining room is quiet and comfortable. The tables beside the RR line are noisy. Conversation is difficult. Food fine; high quality preparation and content. Pleasant waiters and waitresses. We have been there many times and return with pleasure and confidence."

  • "I always enjoy Tango, either for lunch or dinner. Mostly the food is fresh and well prepared and the service is excellent. It can be noisy in the evenings, on the weekends My only complaint is that it is hard to get in and out of the driveway do to the overpass nearby. Thank you."
