Tamarind - TribecaSpecial eventWe went there to celebrate. I made a reservation through internet seeing that they have a Michelin star. It was a very good choice. The stuff was kind and very helpful. The choosen menu was excellent, the coctail and win is good. And last but not list the price was very resonable for what we got form them.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMImpeccable service and amazing foodWe brought two friends to dinner here a bit worried that it would not be a 10 experience but wow...they wowed us over and over. The service was attentive and at times playful. We met the owner and the chef. Drinks were on spot and great pour for wine. Then to dinner which was amazing. My only complaint is that the veg section should be done in 1/2 portions so that people can share. Would be perfect than!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food; good service; quietGood food; good service; quiet and tony atmosphere, but a lot of fun. Good-sized portions at very reasonable prices. The inside of the restaurant is cozy and simple, and there is definitely a quiet class about the whole experience. The food is beyond compare and the service could not be better. No detail is missed.Perfection! Each dish was obviously prepared with great care to bring out the best of the ingredients, and to present them attractively. The staff works as a team here, so you meet all of them. I liked that because they were all ridiculously nice, comfortable, and knowledgeable.
P.s Hostess is gorgeous!4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIf you can't get reservations--sitEvery detail is thought out from the lighting, to the menus...the flatware to the glasses and the result is an aesthetically beautiful experience. Not to mention the food is amazing (some of the best, non-MSG Indian I've had) and the service is professional. A great place. And if you can't get reservations, you should walk in and sit at a table in the bar area. Same food, same great service.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMTrue Tribeca gemTamarind - Tribeca was fantastic - as always! A true Tribeca gem, for which we don't shy away from making the trip from Brooklyn.
Lunch special ($25) is an awesome deal - and it's even available weekends!
(So glad they DON'T serve brunch weekends. I prefer "real" lunch.)4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMBest Indian in NYCI was alway a big fan of Tamarind on 22nd. The food here is as good and the space is beautiful. Philip was professional, friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating to specific needs - made excellent recommendations. Food was prepared and served well. A shrimp in cocoanut milk appetizer was especially delicious - could have made an entree of that. Ambience is very nice - tables spaced sufficiently apart.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been several timesWe have been several times and keep on returning because the food is so good.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Best Indian Ever!We adore Tamarind. I try to go at least once a week. It is a gorgeous setting, with amazing food. The staff is on top of great service and Uncle and the management team, always have something special for us. We are sorry that Viraji has left, however Mohamad has been taking wonderful personal care of us. Chef pulls out all his magic with unique dishes prepared to our taste buds.
Linda and Terri4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing, as alwaysPhenomenal, just like its Gramercy sister restaurant. Lasani Gobi (cauliflower appetizer) could be the best veretarian appetizer we've ever had anywhere.Staff and owner (who made the rounds, again) are terrific.Cannot recommend these two restaurants enough.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMmy 8th visit to tararind.my 8th visit to tararind. great place for lunch; unlike other michelin 1 star rez, they are generous on each dish. but waiters looked upset as we did not order drinks or anything other than pri fixe. and too soon to bring us the bill. but overall it is a great place.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic.Love this place. Tamarind has some of the best Indian in the world! The ambiance is great as always, but the food was unfortunately sub-par. Maila kebab 10/10. But entress were not well prepared. The presentation was that of any other indian restaurant in town, chcicken tikka was absolutely dry. Sahi panneer was more like kadai paneer with nig shunks of onions and pepper.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA Treasure to be experiencedFrom start to finish, the entire experience of this restaurant was top notch and unbelievable. The food was by far some of the best Indian I've ever had. We were so glad we chose this to celebrate our anniversary. I'd highly recommend Tamarind over and over and over again. While expensive, I felt like it was worth every cent. Will definitely come again.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious Indian foodWonderful Indian food served in a lovely setting. Upscale and very tasty. Great food. Atmosphere was a little slow. They totally forgot to bring out the cake we had stored in their kitchen. Otherwise very delightful.1/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is very good butThe food is very good but both food and wine are very expensive. A simple dinner for two and one glass of wine was almost $140. Even being from SF, that is a lot for a dinner for the two of us! No dessert and no coffee.1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
