Talulla'sRisky ChoiceDecided to take a chance and try Talulla's during Restaurant Week. I am relatIvely inexperienced with Turkish food but truly enjoyed my meal as did the 3 other family members with me. Enjoyed bites from each selection and found all of it tasty and interesting. Will return.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMTasty but expensiveThe food was tasty but limited amounts for the price. For example the hummus was good not served with additional bread or chips.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMTallulah's is a gem. TerrificTallulah's is a gem. Terrific food and Broad menu. The ambiance is straight out of Turkey. The service is excellent. One of my favorite restaurants.5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMMediterranean At Its FinestI moved here from NYC two years ago and found Talulla's on West Franklin Street. This is very simple. If you want ORIGINAL Mediterranean cuisne that is expertly prepared and delivered, AND you want outstanding service (efficient, friendly, unpretentious...) AND you want an atmosphere that speaks to "authentic," ...Then you want to dine at Talulla's. We have eaten at a couple of other local Mediterranean restaurants in both Durham and Chapel Hill, and Talulla's is simply the best!5/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLike dining in Istanbul! What a great gastronomic experience! We've been to Istanbul a couple of times and loved the food. Eating at Talulla's was like eating at a corner family restaurant next to our hotel in Istanbul that had amazing food: fresh baked bread, lamb shanks cooked to perfection, excellent fish, and delicious appetizers. There are Turkish restaurants in the DC area, where we live, but the food we have tried there has not been as authentic as at Talulla's. The service at Talulla's was also really friendly and attentive.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial eveningAll of the requests made online were carried out perfectly -- from the special seating in the booth with curtains, to the champagne brought immediately to the table in celebration of my boyfriend's birthday, to the lovely dessert on the house. Perfect evening and wonderful food -- authentic in every way!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed this restaurantWe enjoyed this restaurant and were sat down easily after booking a reservation, although it wasn't too busy for a Saturday night. Food was authentic and very good.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent choice!Beautiful exotic interior, wonderful food explained by wait staff before you order. Famil run and friendly staff.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best Turkish restaurantI travel and eat out. I like Turkish food and always look for a Turkish restaurant. I've discovered Talulla's few years ago. I don't get to travel to Chapel Hill that much but I wish I can more often, because in my opinion it is one of the best Turkish restaurant in the states.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWe hosted an exchange studentWe hosted an exchange student from Turkey last year and dined at several Turkish restaurants in the area to learn about and enjoy Turkish cuisine. Talulla's is the best. The food is delicious. The bread is wonderful. We enjoy sidewalk dining and sitting in the window alcove. The service is always great. We just dined there to celebrate my birthday.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMA great time & place to talk & eat!I took my college son this time so we could catch up and it was a perfect atmosphere with delicious food. He was actually quite talkative and forthcoming about his life. Thank you, Talulla's!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat place for tasty meatsGreat place for tasty meats and mezzes, especially lamb and Adano.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Turkish food with greatGreat Turkish food with great service in a nice ambiance.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful use of spices andWonderful use of spices and thoughtful presentations. With two dining, started with the sampler platter of cold mezzes with their bread plate and dipping sauce of red pepper puree, olive oil and spices, and a glass of wine each. Intended to move on to a main dish but were to full to do so. Definitely want to return to try more of their offerings.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMPerfect food, service and cocktailsI have dined at Talulla's three times, and every time has been outstanding.
My husband and I love the bread dip so much the waiter told us how we could make it at home. The service is impeccable, they know their menu very well and can always be trusted to recommend a dish if you can't choose from the wide selection.
The food is always a good quantity but not so much where you feel bad for leaving some on your plate. Perfectly cooked and presented, this is fast becoming our go to place with friends. The cocktails add that little bit extra to make it a fun night!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMTalulla's is a Turkish Delight,Talulla's is a Turkish Delight, from the mezze to the baklava. A greeting of "Merhaba" hello, It was as if we were in Istanbul, then our group of 8 was seated in one of the two front bay window tables, sectioned off by harem like drapery and surrounded by cushioned seats, and kilim pillows. WE began our daughter's birthday celebration with a cold appetizer tray, followed by hot appetizers- sigara boregi (cigar borek)and manti-meat filled dumplings in a yogurt, garlic sauce, larmacon-a pizza-like dough with a spicy meat sauce. Although this would have been enough for a meal, we did order entrees and desserts. We were served in a Mediterranean calm style, with enough time between courses to converse and enjoy the evening3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMGood change from the everydayWe had lunch and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Good for something different and staff described menu well. Enjoyed the booth by the window for the view of Franklin Street. Was quiet when we were there for an early lunch.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMHuge portions...reasonableHuge portions...reasonable prices.....great and unusual flavors....1/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
