Don't miss the cheeses, which we did, because we were too full. The menu was truly innovative with an exquisite presentation. It was perfect for our anniversary dinner. We can't wait to go back.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe loved Talula's Table. TheWe loved Talula's Table. The food was interesting and delicious. Our server was knowledgeable about the food and very helpful. The restaurant is attractive. We will definitely return.5/14/2013 12:00:00 AMA Hands Down Favorite! This is not only my favorite restaurant in Philadelphia (and it's got a lot of competition in that city) but also one of my favorite restaurants anyplace in the USA and abroad.
Exquisite delectable food, excellent unpretentious service, a certain gracious, yet rustic decor, while still remaining delightfully special. Highly recommended. All four of us felt this way and cannot wait to return.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMFabulous placeCame here for my birthday. I've always wanted a seat at Talula's Table in Kennett, and since I don't think I'll ever be able to plan a year in advance to make the reservation happen, I was so excited to find this place in Philly.
Started w/ the cheese plate--delicious. Server and cheesemonger were both extremely knowledgeable. I had the filet--cooked to perfection. The green beans were also fantastic. My boyfriend HATES vegetables, and he STILL talks about how good they were. Scallops=good. We had the ricotta doughnuts for dessert, yum. I had 2 glasses of Pinot Noir and my boyfriend had a glass of Malbec that he loved. Wanted to try yummy-sounding specialty cocktails.
I wish they had some cheaper wine bottle options.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best brunches IOne of the best brunches I have ever had. A truly outstanding restaurant in all facets.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was such a wonderfulThis was such a wonderful experience. We sat at the bar for brunch and the two female bartenders were brand new, but very nice and accommodating. I have eaten here for dinner, but never brunch, and the food was just as amazing!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMVery niceThe scallops there were the best I've had so far. The service was very good. It's a bit pricy therefore I will only go again for a special romantic occasion.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyed!I have a huge appetite, and am used to huge portions. Although the food portions were small I enjoyed the food and drinks. This was my first time going and definitely would go again. There are so many different types of menus I want to try!5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMIt's all good.Food was fantastic. Setting is charming. We sat outside. It was a cool night but they turned heaters on so it was pleasant. One of the top ten meals i have ever eaten.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMy girlfriend and I had aMy girlfriend and I had a very special experience at Talula's Garden. The food was amazing, beautifully decorated, and great service. My only complaint is that when we asked our waiter any questions relating to the menu, he would go on and on and on about not only what I asked but everything else that was somewhat related to our question. Apart from that, highly recommended.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good food. I have traveledReally good food. I have traveled and eaten all over the world. There were flavors here I have never tasted. The lamb ragu was unbelievalbe5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food all around. 5 ofGreat food all around. 5 of us dined and everything was fabulous..5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond visitAnother welcoming experience at Talula's Garden. Charming atmosphere inside with huge windows and food that was just perfect (we knew there was a change of chef since our first visit). Service is attentive and efficient, easy conversation with quiet to moderate sound levels. Sadly too chilly to dine outdoors but the garden didn't look ebullient and ready for spring guests anyway...slowly developing seasonal weather? Still hope to enjoy dining alfresco there at some point in time...5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMOUTSTANDING!Now I understand what everyone has been talking about. The food was incredible - we went for Brunch. and the atmosphere was magical - definitely cannot wait to return!!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMThe meal I had at Talulah'sThe meal I had at Talulah's garden was one of the best brunches I have ever had as far as food, service, and ambiance. Very memorable, great staff!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was amazing and theThe food was amazing and the waiter couldn't have been nicer. He even tracked us down outside when we forgot our doggie bag. The prices seem a little too high.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA great evening at the GardenThe ambiance at Talula's is sophisticated and rustic at the same time. Although it was too cold to sit outside, we had a good table in the center of the restaurant. Our waitress was very knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. The noise level was a little louder than I would have liked, however the sensational food more than made up for it. We had several complimentary dishes from the chef, which were delicious and appreciated. The staff was very attentive and we were served in good time. I love Talula's and will definitely return, especially, to sit outside.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMLoved it!Great atmosphere, terrific service, great food...we'll be back!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe portions were small andThe portions were small and our waiter continuously pushed us to order more food even though we kept saying we were good to increase the bill. Otherwise it was a nice dinner.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWow!We went to Talula's for our 17th anniversary. The food was exceptional! We will return on our next trip to Philly.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoyable Meal & AmbienceOur second visit was almost as enjoyable as the first. The only disappointment was not being able to dine outside. But all in all, it was fine.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMCute placeWent here on a date with my boyfriend. The outdoor seating area is very cute and romantic and the weather was perfect, but there was a 30 minute wait and we didn't have the time. The inside seating area is still very nice and the servers were great. We had the sangria which was delicious and the world cheese platter which was good as well. Overall a nice experience.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMGlad we found this !My husband and I live in the Seattle area and were in Philadelphia for a couple of days and were fortunate to find this restaurant. The food was innovative and we enjoyed every bite. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. We will be back the next time we are in the area!5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy food, service was a tad slowThree of us went to TG for our monthly dinner club. We had all been big fans of Django. We really enjoyed the dinner. We shared an appetizer...the noodle one. We had the cod, the bass and the filet. All three were excellent but they came out quite a while after we had finished the appetizer. That's really the only complaint. We had the banana creeps for dessert. A perfect little finish. I'd recommend this restaurant5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful experienceWe went to Talula's for my husband's birthday, and we couldn't have chosen a better restaurant. The atmosphere in the garden was lovely, the servers were cordial and welcoming, and everyone made the birthday boy feel special. The food was excellent from starters to desserts, mixing flavors and textures beautifully. Looking forward to another experience at Talula's Garden!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was fabulous onEverything was fabulous on Wednesday night for dinner. We started on the patio, but when the sun went down and the wind started, it was too chilly. The staff swiftly moved us inside without a blink. The staging and pacing of the food was fabulous. The staff was attentive, but not annoying. And the food, always a hit. The cheese plate had perfectly sized portions for two and the descriptions were great. I had the cod and my partner had the scallops, both cooked very well. The only slight disappointment was the beets. They needed salt and pepper. But, that was quickly forgotten when the dessert, a banana crepe came out! Delicious!!5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful and deliciousThis was my first time to Talula's Garden and have heard rave reviews from many friends. Overall, it was spectacular. The ambiance is unmatched. The World Travel cheese plate was incredible, the donuts and goat cheesecake desserts were a treat, and I loved the wide selection of fresh, seasonal, local menu options. I went with the New England Cod as my main and loved the combination, flavors, and textures. My only complaint, which kept me from giving it 5 stars, was that the entrees (my partner got the lamb) were a bit on the salty side for our taste. Despite the saltiness, I thoroughly enjoyed Talula's and will definitely return.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMLate to be SeatedOpentable is awesome, and so easy, however this is the third time in recent use opentable has booked us for a time when the restaurant simply was not ready to seat us. I don't know that, if at night Opentable books tables in different, longer increments of time, but we have waited 30 minutes to be seated. This happened last night, and recently at Barclay Prime.
We hope to keep using Opentable but if this happens again we'll probably just call the restaurant instead at night time. And only use opentable when booking far in advance.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMAmazing! The dessert donutsAmazing! The dessert donuts were lifetime memorable :)4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMTerrific Talula'sFantastic service during a very busy evening. We loved every aspect of the evening. Do not miss experiencing Talula's special brand of hospitality, food and overall ambience.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent! The outdoor area is fantastic, although we sat inside because it was raining. The inside was wonderfully decorated as well. Our waitress was very friendly and the food came out really fast. I ordered the duck with chickpea crepes which was really good, and my fiance ordered the lamb shoulder. We were both extremely impressed. For dessert we asked the waitress to surprise us since we couldn't decide and she brought out the banana crepes. Excellent choice! Will definitely be back during better weather!4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good food, incredibleVery good food, incredible restaurant, incredible staff -- highly recommended!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed the April TastingWe enjoyed the April Tasting Menu and it was wonderful. The food was spot on, the service wonderful and the garden setting was a delight on an early spring evening. We were visiting from out of town, but if we lived here, we would be back again and again.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMEclectically charming ...Dinner was exceptional. Food / kitchen execution is equally so. Service was zestfully enthusiastic. We waited a smidge longer than we would have preferred for a table inside versus outside on the paito. The portions are spot on, albeit priced a dollar or two short of $30 per entree. The brook trout was fresh and delicious, the Gnochetti pasta and spring vegetables was bright, lemony and absolutely terrific. We split a stellar cheese tray (World Traveler) at $22 which was a generous portion of seven different cheeses, nuts, jams, fruit and honey drizzle. Cocktails are short on size, big on price - $14 each. To be clear, it's a tight space, but eclectically charming with the appropriate mix of attention and private dining time.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent food and service.Excellent food and service. Price was as expected high4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat evening outWe were celebrating my wife's birthday and decided to come to Talula's Garden since she is a total foodie. From the lovely cheese platter all the way to dessert and french press coffee, the restaurant lived up to its name. Everything was great. They were also able to accommodate my 23 year daughter's rather extensive list of intolerant items! Thanks to everyone at Talula's Garden for an outstanding evening.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMOne of the best dining experiencesOne of the best dining experiences I've had in quite a while.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWe are from Arizona. Wonderful experience we will be talking about for years.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMMay not go back because wifeMay not go back because wife has a crush on the bartender. Service was very accommodating as part of my party was 50 minutes late.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMTruly amazing; Will visitTruly amazing; Will visit everytime I return to Philadelphia; Cheese plate appetizers are some of the best I have ever had; Portions are the right size and the mix of flavors is tremendous. The food and service are always impecable and well worth the money (as it is a little on the pricey side!) The staff treats you as though you are the only ones in the restaurant, extremely attentive. I love this place and plan to go for dinner again in the very near future. Hoping to be able to dine in the lovely garden on my next visit!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMLovely Spring Time BrunchSecond time visiting, both for a pre-theater brunch. Just a wonderful experience. The place was busy, but we were greeted warmly and promptly seated. Our always smiling waitress was attentive and helpful, but not over-bearing. We shared fruit to start, the my wife had the special french toast and I ordered the duck confit. Both were outstanding. Then, I couldn't help myself - I ordered the ice cream - coffee, mint choc chip, and butter pecan. Absolutely great.
Talula's is a comfortable spot and a prime location for a post brunch walk through Washington Square and Society Hill. One highlight of a great day.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything A+ from the decorEverything A+ from the decor to the friendly, knowledgable staff to the food itself which was extraordinary. The Tasting Menu was eclectic and imaginative and showed off the versatility of the chef. As i am gluten-free, i received an extra layer of attention which was very gratifying.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic!Loved our server Cory he was extremely knowledgeable regarding the menu and was very hospitable.
