Diner Reviews
  • "So we expected a dark romanic atmosphere -- instead we got a farm kitchen in the middle of Philly! BUT it was spectacular. The food and service was unbelievable. DO NOT MISS THIS PLACE!!!"

  • "Everything was excellent, not one complaint. Service awesome and personable. Portions were perfect, I felt full, but not totally stuffed. I did not want the meat served in their main entree and they changed it out for fish without blinking an eye. We will be back."

  • "Creative, delicious food, beautiful presentations, and wonderful wine pairings made this a fabulous evening. The service is top-notch including very knowledgeable descriptions of each course by the manager which enhanced an already great experience. Warm, inviting community feel. I highly recommend Talula's Daily!!"

  • "My husband took me to Talula's to celebrate my birthday the other night. What a fabulous dinner! Attentive wait-staff with excellent knowledge of foods and preparation, perfectly sized portions. I was concerned about "5 courses" and how we could enjoy it without feeling overfull at the end. I needn't have worried... it was timed well and portioned well. (and my husband was glad to help out!) And the food? We were awed again and again by wonderful explosions of flavor. Each mouthful was just meant to be savored. We will come here again...and again!"

  • "We had a delightful meal with friends. The 5-course meal was terrific! Though advertised at 50/person, the meal ended up costing more like 100/person with the added drinks. The wine pairing was a nice option. The waiters were professional, well-informed and witty!"

  • "We went to Talula's for our anniversary and loved it! The ambiance was fantastic with just a few tables and so much delicious food. There was no rush and we got to enjoy each and every course along with the wine pairing. The staff gave an excellent description of each course including the wine and cider selections. It isn't cheap to go for dinner but it was money well spent. We'd definitely go back!"

  • "We absolutely loved it. Casual dining. With excellent food. Can't wait to go again!"

  • "This was our third time to Talulah's Daily. We always check the menu a few weeks out to make sure this month's edition fits our dietary needs (although they are always accommodating). We saw some diners that did not know the concept--one set five course menu for the month at $55 per head--a bargain based on the quality and the quantity. You just want to make sure the meal selection fits your palette. Service is always good here. I can't remember a bad dish along the way. We are always satisfied. This month, we chose to BYO and pay the $25 corkage--so we effectively had a $75 Cab for $100--which was fair. There did seem to be some more cost-effective options on wine this time, and the beer selection is another great alternative. Back soon."

  • "We came from NY for the Flower Show. Wanted a special dining experience to treat our mom. I read online about the "Secret Supper" and was intrigued. Talula's table was that special place. The actual space was cozy and pleasant. Didn't realize what a pleasant experience we were in for. The waitstaff was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The chef prepared our five course meal as we watched. He made it look easy and enjoyable. Each course had many layers of delicious flavors. We are still talking about our wonderful experience at Talula's Daily!"

  • "One of the best meals in the city.. The fact that it is located in a food market was fun. After the dinner, my friend and I relaxed over our last glass of wine recalling each course and dissecting each flavor. We debated which course we liked the best and decided that the last course was the bes, until the next course came along. The service was wonderful and we will be going back. We woke up the next morning still talking about each course."

  • "I love the idea of a chef's tasting menu because it forces me to try things I probably wouldn't otherwise order. The food at Talula's Daily was very good, and the servers were very knowledgeable. Unfortunately, I have a restricted budget for dining. While I don't mind paying for an expensive meal, my barometer is "how willing would I be to pay for another meal at the restaurant?" With that in mind, I'm glad I tried Talula's Daily and would recommend that others try it, but it won't become a go-to, regular kind of spot for me."

  • "Wow! I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant gem. Everything about my dining experience was fabulous. The food was delicious, the drinks were excellently paired, and the service was impeccable. I chose this restaurant for my wedding anniversary celebration with my wife. I liked the intimate setting and the fresh seasonal menu. This place didn't disappoint when it came to the food and drinks. Everything was delicious. What truly made the experience was the service. The wait staff was knowledgable, attentive, and went out of their way to make our night unforgettable in every way. We were seated at the front-most table near the open kitchen, so we were able to watch each meal being crafted by the chef. Can't wait to dine here again!"

  • "This restaurant has a relaxed and comfortable feel, like dining at an old friends house. And the dishes - amazing, everything from a cornbread with a hit of jalapeno, mussels with coriander, cauliflower casserole, ribs with polenta and broccoli rabe and cheese plate to hot chocolate donuts with nutella centers and cream. Service reflected the relaxed and comfortable feel of the restaurant - friendly and pleasant."

  • "Overall great food, if a bit rich. The wine list is small and very pricey, given the average retail prices of the wines offered. Service is excellent. I'll definitely go back!"

  • "My wife and I have been trying to get to Talula's Daily for a few months after going to Talula's Garden. It was a great experience, the food courses were well thought out and perfectly executed, the staff (Erin and others) were super knowledgeable about the process of how the courses were developed, the ingredients, and were happy to answer the many questions that we had. It was more like a conversation with friends. We can't wait to return."

  • "Wow were we impressed. We are admitted food snobs and lately haven't been particularly impressed with some of the popular Philly restaurants. This blew us away! We had a friend with us who is gluten free and they were able to modify every single dish so she could enjoy it. She wasn't missing courses like some other restaurants do. The February menu was delicious, atmosphere was wonderful and the service was top notch. We will be back in the summer to try a summer menu. Hopefully by then Philadelphia magazine hasn't written an article making it impossible to get a reservation."

  • "lovely little neighborhood place with an unusual format that is both informal and expansive. Lovely, and especially lovely service."

  • "The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about all of their offerings. The chef came out and described every plate. The cookies served for dessert came straight out of the oven and were still warm when they made it to our table. We've already made our reservations for next month."

  • "The meal is really extraordinary. Each course was a feast for the eyes and stomach. We seated at the two top facing the kitchen. Oddly, the chef never acknowledged us. It would have been nice to get a hello, or have him maybe deliver one of the plates to our table since there was only one other table of two people in the restaurant. Instead, he would place them on the ledge a few feet from us, and the waitress take over from there. My friend and I thought it was really strange since it's such a small and intimate setting. Plus, it's a nice chunk of change for a meal during the week. The waitress was lovely and very attentive. A real delight. Nonetheless, the meal was fabulous and we very much enjoyed the food, and wine pairing."

  • "My girlfriend and I went to Talula's for supper. The experience was amazing. We went on a Tuesday night so it was only us and two other couples. The waitress could not have been nicer and more attentive. The food was cooked perfectly and delicious. The way the menu was pieced together was great. All of the courses complimented each other. I can't wait to find an occasion to return!"

  • "The attention to the food was spot on. Every ingredient complimented the dish. Well thought out and well prepared. Our server, Emigen (sp) was excellent, friendly and accommodating to the party member who did not eat seafood, as was the kitchen. Overall, a wonderful dining experience. Can't wait for next month's menu!"

  • "Loved the $50 pre fixed meal. Previously noted a tree nut allergy in the reservation and they were prepared to accommodate this before I walked in the door. Service was great and not overdone. Nice casual and relaxed atmosphere with fun modern country kitchen decor and dishes. Food was interesting and plentiful after 5 courses with brioche-like flower pot bread that was awesome. Cheese selections were interesting, varied and paired well with our preferences taken into consideration. Triple chocolate terrine was scrumptious lay good paired with the perfectly balanced decaf cappuccino. Would definitely return next month for a new menu."

  • "Fabulous dinner. Small intimate room with casual vibe. Service was attentive and friendly. Drinks were a little overpriced, but food was great. Courses, from starters to main course were fabulous. We've eaten a lot of short rib this year (husband's favorite) and their version is my favorite, which saids a lot since we eat at very good restaurants all the time. Have been to Talula's Garden but this would be my preference for future visits. Highly recommend."

  • "Moving from NYC, we worried that dining options would be limited. Tulula's came highly recommend and did not disappoint. We found the food to be phenomenal, on par with NY's Babbo's, Craft, G. Tavern and B. Fare. Our waiter was friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. Restaurant was warm and inviting. As we had an early dinner during the week, we could not gauge the atmosphere during a peak period. However, the table spacing suggested that Tulula's does not try to "pack them in" to an uncomfortable level. My wife is more of a fan of the prix fixe menu. . . volume matters a little more for me:) I left full with an appreciative palette. As Tulula's changes its menu regularly, we likely will be visiting with each turn of the menu."

  • "Tulula's Garden next door is the name draw, here is a surprising hidden gem. It's $50 a head chef seasonal tasting style. We were both stuffed by dessert. Don't ask about the menu, just sit backlands let the surprise you. The food was wonderful, service was caring without being overbearing. The wine menu proving is a bit steep relative to the dinner price, and with a moderate bottle you could easily turn a $100 into $200 check just with or bottle and tip. My only complaint. Besides this, for a $100 dinner for two if you love Food an enjoy trying new surprises... This is a great date night spot with a predicable check before you order. Absolutely would each here again next season when the menu rolls over."

  • "The service and ambience was excellent and I would probably go back just for that. But the menu this month was dissappointing. even though each course independently was delicious together it was too rich and heavy. After the appetizer and the soup, I fkund myself craving a salad but the sauce for the skate was also heavy and buttery. By the time the cheese course came out I felt like I wasjust eating fat all night. I would try this place another month but would definitely check menu in advance to make sure its more balanced."

  • "Farm fresh, beautifully prepared and presented. Wonderful, attentive and unpretentious service. Quite, comfortable yet simple atmosphere made for easy conversation with my dining companion, which we both greatly appreciate. The valet parking was a disaster. For around 30 minutes they couldn't find my car and were befuddled as to how to find it. An awful ending to an otherwise great evening."

  • "We had the November Fall Dinner Menu. The goose charcuterie and parsnip soup were both outstanding. The skate was moist and flavorful, but too salty for my taste. The cheese board and apple tatin were both tasty, but nothing exceptional. Nice intimate space with tables for two or four, but when the table for 10 is occupied with a large group, it can become a bit noisy."

  • "The menu changes each month to be seasonally appropriate. Check their web site for the menu. The current menu is perfect for the early autumn. Each of the courses is perfectly prepared and the flavor combinations are unique, interesting, and delightful. The plates are expertly presented as one should expect from the highly trained and experienced staff from the chef, to the cheese monger, to the server. It is called a "Secret Supper Club" and I would strongly suggest booking a table before the secret gets out. Right now week day dining can be very intimate with few other patrons taking advantage of this rare and wonderful treat. Talula's Daily provides a memorable dining experience that you will savor long after the meal."

  • "Try something new at Talula's Daily Secret Supper Club and get out of your comfort zone. You will be well rewarded with a fresh twist on foods you may have eaten and others you may never have thought to try. We loved our dinner, from start to finish and look forward to visiting again soon! Of course, I hesitate to share this with anyone as we want it to be accessible to us when we want to visit again, but we know that sharing Talula's with others will only make it better (if it could be any better...) So, what are you waiting for? Make a reservation. Bring friends. Talk about it. Go back for dinner again. We will be back."

  • "I had first gone to the "TABLE" in Kennett Square earlier this year and was in love with the food and the experience. I received an email about the "DAILY" and their Secret Super Club. I was intrigued and wanted to try it out. Was not disappointed. I love the ambience and the decor's relaxed environment. The food was outstanding. It was a party in your mouth. The Bread in the Pot is too die for!!! Will definitely return."

  • "My friend and I, both fans of Talula's Garden opted to try the 5 course dinner at Talula's Daily. While certainly not cheap (dinner and 2 drinks came to $95 each with tax and tip), all of the food was delicious. All five courses were superb and were accompanied by warm, freshly-baked and buttered bread. The restaurant is also charming and the service is impeccable. This dinner is absolutely worth trying for a special occasion! (Caveat: There are no substitutions for the dinner menu, which changes monthly -- make sure you check the menu before you make a reservation!)"
