Tallgrass Prairie Table is a Farm to Table restaurant located in the heart of the historic Blue Dome entertainment district in downtown Tulsa. Serving Modern American cuisine that is both locally and globally inspired and locally sourced, Tallgrass partners with several local farms and ranches, most importantly Z7Bar Ranch in Pawhuska and the Living Kitchen Dairy and Farm in Depew, to bring Tulsans the freshest local ingredients possible.   • "Our table was in a fine location, but there was an odd semi-circular space next to it. Luckily, we weren't in a huge hurry and were still mulling the menu while awaiting drinks. A fellow started bringing out musical equipment and stacking it in that space next to our table. Long story short, music was going to begin right next to us. We asked for a different table very quickly after the first of the musical equipment arrived, and they quickly were able to accommodate us. If you are not interested in music with your meal (this wasn't like a harp, acoustic guitar, or piano), ask to be seated away from the music when you might your reservation. Everything after that was fine."

  • "Every bite explodes with flavor, expected and unexpected. What in the world did Chef do to make risotto-for heaven's sake-come alive with lick your plate flavor? Duck fat maybe? Whatever, it was a delicious surprise. My husband had the chicken breast that was likewise surprising for flavor and texture. The puree of olives and garlic with tomesco was unusual and delicious. Flavor like this is not to be missed. The rustic, glamorous atmosphere--think exposed brick walls with industrial crystal chandeliers is likewise unusual and lovely. All together a great dining experience in Tulsa."

  • "We were very excited to try this restaurant. Service & food were both very disappointing. Appetizer came out with meal instead of beforehand. We asked to cancel it, but waitress insisted we go ahead & try it. She did comp it at the end of our dinner which was nice. Steak special was too smokey tasting to be enjoyed. The braised short ribs were an extremely small portion. Such a cool space! So sad the food wasn't better!"

  • "The name Tallgrass Prairie evokes some kind of southern food, reminiscent of the chain the Black Eyed Pea. But the food is far from what I expected when I was taken there. The food was upscale without being pretentious. A good example is the bone marrow appetizer, served plainly with toasts. Nothing fancy, but a rarity on menus nonetheless. The only problem to me is that the meat is all flame grilled, so that there is excessive charring, which I think is wrong. Everything tasted burnt. Even the burger was recooked for my daughter and it still tasted like ashes. Maybe the right person wasn't on the grill that night. But everything else was wonderful and I enjoyed the menu. Great service."

  • "We were seated in the front room where the tables are so close together that every time wait staff, or another diner, passed through it was disruptive to our dining experience. The servers seemed a bit frenzied but, we understand there was a very large group in that was taking up much of the restaurant's capacity. Our meals were very good. Next time, I'll try a night during the week."

  • "Really beautiful interior and right in the heart of Tulsa. Made reservations early in the week for a Saturday night pre-show meal. When we arrived the restaurant was all but empty and then being seated by the only other seated table in the place. When we asked to move they said they were too tightly booked to give us anything other than the bar. We chose the bar and were there with the bar being full and the floor still pretty vacant. The service was fine but not attentive. Felt rushed and overlooked. Won't go back hoping to find places that are more interested in my repeat business."

  • "Loved the vibrant atmosphere of this new restaurant. The Arugula Salad with the fried chicken skin was a perfect combination of flavors! The Short Ribs were tender and delicious, and the Butter Cake for dessert is a MUST! Will definitely be going back to try other dishes! Great experience on a Friday Night!"

  • "We had reservations before the Cher concert. Got right in, great table, excellent service. Waitress very knowledgeable about wine & beer selections, as well as menu. Food was presented well and in a timely manner while not being rushed. My only complaint is the price. I had chicken served over root vegetables. Very tasty, but it was a chicken leg w/thigh meat and maybe 3 fennel pieces and 2 carrots. It was enough portion wise, but it was $22!"

  • "The food was good but if you want to carry on a conversation with anyone you almost need sign language. We were in the quietest part of the restaurant the front area and had to yell to each other to be heard. The noise level in the restaurant was unreal. Our waitress was overly attentive while we were waiting for another couple to arrive. She kept wanting to take our order even though we kept telling her we were waiting for them. Once they did arrive and she took our order we never saw her again while the food was being served to see how the meal was or if we needed anything else. We had to flag her down to get some salt and pepper for the table. That being said, the food was good except for the noise. Not for a romantic quiet dinner."

  • "Aquaintances had described Prairie Table as the "best restaurant in Tulsa." It's not. But it's certainly far above average. The menu didn't offer many options for vegetarians, which a Friday during Lent forced us to be. We probably would have enjoyed the food more if we had been free to choose other dishes. We'll be back soon to find out."

  • "First experience here and approached with some caution considering the all over the map reviews but had creative good food with fine service with a reasonably priced wine list. Apparently service issues have plagued the eatery but we had predictable (if a little fast) and pleasant wait staff. Arugula salad was outstanding as were the braised ribs."

  • "This restaurant was recommended by a co-worker. So, a girlfriend and I decided to go here to celebrate our birthdays. We could not stop talking about the amazing flavor of our food. Loved the decor and the jazz trio that started play was the perfect volume and complemented the vibe of the restaurant. Dessert lovers - the butter cake is out of this world. Very excited this restaurant opened and is offering great food at a reasonable price. Thanks for a great evening. Looking forward to a return visit very soon!"

  • "Great food, good service but for this price and caliber of food I wished they didn't opt for the tables run together type seating where you are seated 18" from another patron. This makes it feel like strangers are sitting with you and your wife. May try for lunch as food was absolutely delicious. A chocolate cake should be offered though for a desert option. Always a slam dunk."

  • "We were seated at an awful table in front of the servers' station near the bar, which resulted in a lot of business around us throughout our meal. We had to yell to hear one another. We were ignored for 10 minutes before a server asked for our drink orders. OVER 10 minutes later, she returned with drinks and we ordered. She did not ask how our food was, even though I would've ordered a side to supplement my small bowl of risotto. When we left, the host couldn't look up from his cell phone to thank us or say "Good night." It was frustrating to have spent so much money on this experience; I've spent less money at Michelin starred restaurants. I won't pay for such awful service again; we will NOT be returning."

  • "We enjoyed a wonderful meal here recently, that was capped off with a scrumptious dessert and the pleasing sounds of the ballad singing group that started playing towards the end of the meal. The cocktails were tasty, the service was friendly and professional, the food came promptly and was delicious. The halibut was slightly overcooked and a little dry, but nicely flavored. The flat iron steak had amazing flavor, was a little chewy (in a good way) as expected but not at all tough and brimming with great taste. The appetizer of grilled oysters was simply amazing, slightly smoky and brightened with balanced citrus. Can't wait to return."

  • "We split a few appetizers, including the scallops, bone marrow, and mussels. They were all very good except the mussels which were extremely bitter (like burnt garlic) and completely inedible. Our server was awkward and not very knowledgeable about the wine or food menus. When we informed him about the mussels and had him take them away uneaten he did not offer to take them off our check, so we ended up paying for them even though we didn't eat them and they were terrible. We split the spicy fried chicken as our entree and it was fantastic, but the wine list is a bit of a disappointment . Our first visit to tall grass was not super impressive, however we''ll probably try again in few months when they have some of the kinks worked out."

  • "The food was good, not great. Tallgrass is seemingly going out of their way to be eclectic by offering things such as bone marrow for an appetizer. Which tasted rich but smothered in cheese (like you would see on a french onion soup). The raviolis were drowned in sauce, which makes me question what flavors they were trying to hide. It was good; however at $41 for the rib-eye steak, I wanted/expected more."

  • "We had dinner at Tallgrass Prairie this past Saturday evening. We had great service and wonderful food. From the bar we sampled a couple of their signature cocktails which were good and one at our table had an outstanding martini. For our entres, two at our table had the chicken and raved about its preparation. One of us had the burger and it was really good but the french fries were spectacular! For dessert we shared the butter cake and the bread pudding. Both were well prepared and worth the calories but the butter cake was the winner. We will happily dine here again!"

  • "From the moment we entered the restaurant our senses were heightened and excited. The food was delicious, perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. We have dined at world class restaurants in las Vegas, new York and San Francisco and Tallgrass was as good as any place. We appreciated how fresh everything was, and the number of meat free entrees. The salad choices were interesting, and not huge. Only negative comments were it was hot in the dining room, and we were seated close to the musicians which made it impossible to hear my companions. Either bring the entertainment later in the evening when the restaurant isn't so crowded or ask them to place softly."

  • "This is hands down the coolest and most fabulous place in Tulsa. The food was outstanding (started with the animal tacos and pork belly with scallops. Both a must). They have craft beer and good cocktails. The short rib was divine as was the sea bass. Joshua, our waiter was knowledgable and darling. The only reason service didn't get 5 stars is because they spend so much quality time with tables that they may need more servers on the floor. Hoping to go there at least once a week. Oh, not sure who the designer was, but WELL DONE. The place is stunning and sexy."

  • "I rarely if ever leave reviews, but this is too good not to share. Living most of my life in Tulsa I have seen many great restaurants come and go, lets not let this one go! Everything was perfect from hello to goodbye. The cocktails were perfect and a great wine list that isn't too big to scare anyone off. We dove right into the Bone Marrow appetizer, and next to the version at Ludivine I have never had better. We couldn't tell you about the rest of the menu because the specials were too good to pass up, so maybe next time! Our only problem with this meal was that we did not share it with friends! If you are reading this and you are a South Tulsan (like us), please go and try Tallgrass! This is one I hope we can keep around for years."
