The noise level is a bit daunting and doesn't lend itself to a leisurely evening of dinning with that second bottle of wine, but a fun place none the less."

  • "I was super excited to finally get to eat here after hearing all the awesome reviews but I was pretty disappointed. I ordered the chicken with the fancy French name after the waitress recommended it. It was just...mediocre chicken. It was pretty on the plate but it lacked flavor. And it didn't come with any substantial hide so I was still hungry afterward. After getting burned on the chicken, I didn't order dessert. Decided it was worth driving to the Taven for some chocolate torte. That's the yum."

Our server was prompt and very personable, but what stood out was her willingness to work with the chef to modify a dish for one person's health needs. The food was fresh, beautifully plated and delicious, almost as perfect as the service. It is not inexpensive, but for an evening out, it was lovely."

  • "We had reservations 2 hours prior to a show at the PAC. This was perfect to be able to have appetizers, dinner and to share coffee and dessert without being rushed. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive but not pushy or overbearing. We all enjoyed our appetizers and main course. We were seated by the entry which was great for people watching but the main room is where I would ask to be seated in future. We will definitely go again!!!"

  • "We have been to tall grass a few times and have always been pleased! This time we did have to wait 30 min for our reserved table. We sit down and we decide to order the steak and you were sold out of both steaks! I decided to get the chicken because I heard it was wonderful, it was okay a little dry. Then at the end of the meal we are finishing our bottle of wine and my husband has to take a fermented fly out of his mouth!!! We received all kinds of reasons on how this could have happened and the manager just brings out another glass of the wine we had ordered. We did not ask for another glass!!! We were done drinking at that point! The waitress was really trying to be understanding, but I thought the manager could have been more involved!"

  • "We loved the atmosphere! We had reservations and were seated immediately, even though it was a very busy night for downtown (Wicked was playing).Service was great,we were well watched- over. But the food was not worth the price- the entree -Wood grilled chicken was fine but not worth returning for-the gravy accompanying it had absolutely NO taste. The "olive salad" had ONE olive, and a bland dressing. We were both still hungry after dinner, so ordered dessert-which was so-so."

  • "Took a friend from out of town. Made reservations online. Was pleasantly surprised by entire experience!! Atmosphere incredible! Rustic/modern charm. Not to be outdone by food! My husband and guest both raved about the scallops, while I enjoyed the steak special immensely!! We ended with the Russian Honey cake that wasn't too sweet, but perfect! We can't wait to go back! Even, though we live South, We love the location and downtown Tulsa dining!! Amazing!!"

  • "This was our first visit to the relatively new spot in Tulsa for an early dinner before the theater. The restaurant has been nicely built with comfortable casual ambiance. The food, while having great interesting flavors, was not commensurate in quality of preparation with the price. I had the lamb shank sitting on potato puree which was cold accompanied with nice green beans that unfortunately were hardly cooked. The lamb itself was tender but overcooked on the outside as though it was reheated. The bread pudding desert on the other hand was great! May give them another try however because the flavors were good and this may have been a one time fumble!"

  • "Hope, the owner and GM, takes her passion for great food, wine and service and delivers all at Tallgrass. We had the the fish special, the Halibut, which was cooked perfectly. The beet salad to start was sublime and the duck confit taco appetizer hit the spot. We have tried the burger, fried chicken and flat iron steak which come with high recommendation. When they have their grilled oyster appetizer special, get it. Hope and our waiter, Greg, really know the wine list and selected a wonderful bottle that was affordable, and one that we would not have selected. Thank you. Can't wait for the expansion next door to open for more live music."

  • "This was our first time at Tallgrass Prairie Table. The service was great, the food fabulous, however it is loud! That is the one downfall of this restaurant. Due to the type of decor of Tallgrass (industrial meets modern?) there are no soft surfaces to absorb the noise, which makes it a tad difficult to have a conversation with someone across the table from you. Other than the noise, the place is great. I would definitely return. The spicy fried chicken was a great twist on comfort food. My husband had the brisket burger and it was yummo!"

  • "My husband and I have been here twice. Both of our visits were before events downtown. The staff was prompt, courteous and attentive. The menu offers choices for small plates and larger entrees. On one visit we ordered a few small plates to share. This was a great way to sample several dishes. On both visits our food was deliciously prepared! I enjoy the atmosphere and the concept of sourcing local ingredients. Overall this is a great place!"

  • "TGP uses all locally procured ingredients. It has a creative menu that is out of this world. If you go, try the broiled bone marrow appetizer - delicious & unusual. There is plenty of "normal" fare for the less adventurous, a pre-dinner drink menu with TGP recipes, and a good wine list. Wait staff are knowledgeable & friendly without being constantly "there". Dress is casual. This was the best meal by far during a recent business trip through the mid-west. If you're in Tulsa, don't fail to give this one a try."

  • "Being somewhat foodies my wife and I have known Chef Michelle for some time we first met her at Smoke on Cherry St. where she was inspiring to be a head chef. We also took the cooking classes there were Chef Michelle tought and let's just say the food we were served was no were near the level or seasoned as she tought. I can say there were small items such as the pickled blueberrys and rasins on the chef sampler that was good. I will even go as far as saying the parsnip purae' was good. The noise level was like being at a sporting event, it made our evening our 5th anniversary a big let down, in so many ways. Chef go back to your roots and start over with recipes. I almost want call Gordan Ramsey to come rescue you. "

The waiter was very knowledgeable and a joy to have waited on us. Went back the next day for Sunday brunch but unfortunately they were not open."

The spicy chicken, duck, scallops, and bone marrow are some of our favorites. Be sure to try the whiskey luge with the bone marrow! We generally sit at the bar and always receive wonderful service. If you're coming in on a weekend, reservations are a must. "

  • "The food tasted good, but was short of what I would call "outstanding", and did not justify the relatively high prices, in my opinion. I had the Gnocchi, and I found them to very small, very green, and almost tasteless. The sauce was good, but no better than Campbell's mushroom soup (which is perfectly eatable). The beer I had (the pilsner) was very good, but again not what I would call outstanding by any means. So, unfortunately, I was a little disappointed, especially since I was expecting something so much better! One of my friends had the market fish, corvina, which she said was delicious, but she also agreed that it was over priced. "

  • "One of the chefs told about this restaurant shortly before they opened, I haven't been able to go until now. I was really disappointed in the limited amount of food that was available to me. Two appetizers and one entree. The food that I had was very good and the service was really great. I love to dine at local restaurants but I also like to have a selection. I will look forward to their menu being available online."

I would not enjoy it as a romantic restaurant as we have had to raise our voice to talk to our friends at our table. The cocktails are fun and the wine list is good. The menu is somewhat unusual and it is challenging to make a selection. It is in a great location"

  • "This was our second time at Tallgrass. The first time we came, it had just opened and there was room for improvement. On our most recent visit, we were very impressed with our food...the dishes were inventive and the flavors were amazing! Also, they added additional, more affordable wines to their list...excellent decision. Our server seemed a little distracted, and did not bring us any of our dishes or drinks. But, we will definitely return for the tantalizing tastes!"

I found our waiter to not be as informed about the menu or as descriptive as I would like in a place of this quality. We will likely make another trip and give another server a try. Also my wife and I felt a little rushed between appetizer and meal."
