  • "This was our first experience at Taleggio. We ordered appetizers and were blown away. The tuna tartare was the best I ever had. I have a salt restriction and they couldn't have been more accommodating. The short rib ravioli was to die for. All homemade. The entrees were cooked to perfection, my steak was charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. The steak was as good as Peter Lugers. We didn't think we had it in us to order dessert but since the meal was truly outstanding, we were curious to see if the desserts were as good as the dinner. Well, let me say that the Italian cheesecake was perfect. Never tasted something so light and flavorful. Hurry up and try it before this place gets discovered and reservations will be impossible."

  • "I just returned from having a fantastic lunch at Tallegio. I've passed it a million times and finally decided to give it a try. The menu is fabulous, the atmosphere enjoyable and the service amazing. The waiter heard me wish my colleague a happy birthday and took it upon himself to bring us a birthday dessert - candle and all (no singing thank goodness). There wasn't one thing I would change about our lunch. I can't wait to try it for dinner. This location seems to be plagued but I hope this one survives. It deserves it!"

  • "Went to try this new place with my family and half liked their dishes (osso bucco) while the other half thought there could be some improvements (short rib ravioli). The reason for this review is to highlight the excellent service by "Fred". He is pleasant and helpful but also knowledgable and attentive. While he stood out the most, the other staff appeared happy and friendly, which to me means the restaurant is good to them (and I like that!). While it does seem like some of the dishes might be improved over time, the management corrected what they could and provided a complimentary desert for a mistake. We would go back to see Fred and give a few other dishes a try. One person really liked the gluten free pasta option!"

It was so welcoming, and the owner Moises was so charming that I came back for drinks and jazz at the bar later that night with my husband. I also appreciated the valet service, when it proved to be difficult to find a spot to park. I will definitely be back."

  • "This was the second time we have dined at Taleggio, and it was every bit as good as the first time. We were warmly greeted at the door as if they remembered us (I'm sure that they did). Our table was ready and waiting for our party of four, and the waiter, I think he was the manager, personally saw to our table. Our drink order was taken immediately, and going forward from there, the entire wait staff was extremely attentive. From appetizer to desert, everything was expertly prepared,beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. Taleggio is a great Italian restaurant in the heart of White Plains, and it is a restaurant that we will return to again and again! You must give Taleggio a try!"

  • "Went for Valentine's Day and the place was packed. No wait for a table, but once we did get a table we didn't see a waiter for at least 20 minutes. We also had to ask for the wine list from a bus boy...and that took two times before we actually got it. Even after ordering, it took at least an hour to get our food. Overall, we were at the restaurant for over 2 hours...and that is without dessert or coffee. The food itself was very, very good. We had the lobster crab cake for appetizer and it was delicious. I had the salmon risotto and again, very good. I like the place, but just make sure you aren't pressed for time when going."

  • "The ambience was perfect, not too fancy but nice. The menu was lengthy enough and had a variety of Classic Italian dishes. The burata didn't disappoint us, the fried calamari was tasty once we finally got it. They brought us fried zucchini first and we waited a little too long while the correction was being made. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection! The Chilean sea bass lived up to the reviews as well. Seafood risotto was a nice mix and a generous portion. The filet mignon was cooked as requested and was very good. The service seemed to be the only issue. Waiting for water refills and wine and soda as well. Desserts were ok nothing too crazy. The apple tart was a bit,tartufo tasted a little freezer burned."

  • "Although we had a reservation we were told upon arrival that our table was being cleaned off so they suggested we "wait at the bar".Half an hour later they were still "cleaning off" our table although there appeared to be several unoccupied table. Dinner was good, nothing outstanding but very tasty. Portions were huge and they have an abundance of staff who are very attentive. I recommend taking advantage of their valet parking option as trying to park at a meter or in a municipal lot is challenging in downtown White Plains."

  • "Had seating issues when we first arrived despite the restaurant being mostly empty and a reservation. Were given a questionable table and then asked to move because a larger party would be sitting in that area -- despite there being plenty of table combinationsins elsewhere that would work. Odd service after that with an overactive/somewhat pushy wait staff. Hard to differentiate between trying to be helpful and pushy, but was a bit unsettling and gave the impression that some kinks need to be ironed out. The food was ok, not bad but missing something. Given the name of the place plus the size of the wine list (which was a definite positive although slightly pricey), we expected a small small italian app sampling/section (tapa like)."

  • "Undercooked octopus and over cooked steaks, despite sending one back asking for another more rare. Sloppy waiters, one had spilled a glass of wine while bringing it to the table and only wiped off the stem and base when I asked him too. Unfortunately he did so with part of the napkin in the bread basket, which he left there, red, wet and crumpled. A bus boy took away my guest's drink which was still a third full without asking and was gone before we could stop him... Had to order another. Waiter was nowhere to be found when we wanted our check and when we did eventually get it they had added 2 glasses of wine to the bill which were not ours. They didn't charge us for one steak .. the only good thing about the experience."

Although this seemed to impact the short staff, the service was very friendly. When our food did arrive, it was beautifully presented and delicious. The chicken martini was tender and flavorful.   • "The food was decent and the prices reasonable, and I've been told that in the area one should not have high expectations; but even though we had said we didn't want anything to drink, they kept asking us; they also brought out the dessert menu without inquiring as to whether or not we'd like any. By itself this wouldn't have been a big deal, but after the repeated asks it was a bit rude. Also the waiter didn't pay very much attention to my questions. I asked about three appetizers, and he instead advised me about a calamari dish I had not asked about."

  • "Reservations were for 7:30 didn't get seated until 7:50. We sat down and no one came to our table for a good 20 mins. We had no idea who our server was, he walked by our table at least 3-4 times before we flagged him down asking if he's our server. He said yes, but then left our table, never got his name. we had to get the wine list from another server/wait staff person. We were ready to order but our server never came by, hit every other table but ours. We ordered our wine as well as food/apps since we weren't sure how long it'd take to get, he didn't write it down then left to get paper and comes back and we had to tell him our order all over again. When we asked for bill it was wrong, prices didn't match what was on menu."

  • "Birthday dinner celebration on a recent Friday evening. while not very busy around 6:15, the seats filled up during the next hour or so which is a good reflection on this new restaurant. Very nice menu with a significant number of choices. Specials were good and the service, especially for a new restaurant was highly attentive. Everyone enjoyed their meals and there was some left over to take home. Will return in the near future when I'm looking for solid Italian dining."

  • "My friend and I decided to try a restaurant where we had never before dined. We liked the valet parking esp. on a cold night. We were warmly greeted (very important). A classic chopped salad had many flavors that reminded me of a warm summer day. It was very fresh and perfectly dressed. We shared the salad, and the waiter graciously served us individually from the salad platter. Those little touches mean a lot. We thought the prices were fair. I hope our next visit is just as pleasing."

  • "What was once Laguna, then a Persion eatery, then a family-style Italian has now returned to upscale-style Italian. I say upscale-style because it really isn't a true upscale restaurant in the way of say, Mulino. The menu has some interesting offerings not all, however, as promised. The prawns Taleggio, for example, are described as stuffed with lobster and crab and sprinkled with breadcrumbs. What arrives is three whole jumbo shrimp with head and legs intact. The stuffing is a soggy breadcrumb mixture with a hint of the promised seafood. Clearly, not as advertised. The chef was apologetic; provided dessert for the four of us. The burrata appetizer was uneven. On one order there were tasty ripe tomatoes, the other had pale, tasteless ones."

  • "Very nice freshly prepared food. My husband had the Branzino which was very fresh and prepared to perfection. I had the seafood risotto which I loved. It was generously prepared with all kinds of shellfish . At the end we were happily surprised by two delicious complementary desserts. We will be back soon."
