It was our 39th wedding anniversary and I wanted a beautiful restaurant with a view, quiet surroundings and excellent food. I got all of that and more. Talavera was recommended to us by a friend for its awesome view and surroundings. We were not disappointed in the least. I would rate the restaurant as Outstanding overall. Definitely the place to bring your spouse or significant other for those very, very special occasions. One must be informed and aware to bring two wallets - as the food is pricey - Good, but definitely not a place you would dine often. A walk through the grounds after dinner was another attractive feature. Great places to take pictures and reflect on the meal and views. We were seated on the patio, at the rail just in time to see the sun go behind Pinnacle Peak. The gathering dusk and twinkling lights of Phoenix came up and provided a spectacular view and romantic ambiance! The corn and lobster bisque (done to my dietary needs) was as spectacular as the sunset. My husband's salmon and tuna appetizer was fresh and delightful. The bison which we both had was delicious and perfectly cooked (again to our request)-as were the vegetable sides. We ended the meal with a luscious chocolate souffle to die for! The service was good, pretty relaxed and the pace of the service was just right.
The prices are high, but the food quality is excellent and you will be well taken care of!

Great venue. The food was just OK, in fact two of us ordered the NY Steak which was less than impressive quality, not prime grade and cold by the time it was served. One comment was "No wonder they were smothered in Bluecheese" The scallops and Salmon were very good, but the salads and soups were nothing great.
I will say that the wine recommendations for reasonably priced wines were very good, and the wine list was pretty good. One vegan diner and the salad with grilled veggies was outstanding, You say, "what is the big deal with a vegetable salad?" The fresh veggies perfectly grilled had that great grilled taste and the homemade dressing was outstanding.
