Menu is extensive and covers a wide array of Mexican dishes from different regions. It was my first visit and it was for business so I frankly didn't pay much attention to prices, but will bring the family next time to see if this will be a weekly joint of a special event kind of place. I tried the Enmoladas and they were amazing; my guest had Chile Relleno and he said it was also really good."

From the time we sat down until we paid the check was two hours. The main courses were ok. The huarache was way overcooked to the point of being hard like microwaved rock. This is their speciality.   • "By far the BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT IN MIAMI. We've been used to having Steak Arracherra - but since it was Mexican Football day all their steaks were gone - they recommended a Lean Pork dish with cactus salad and by jolly - it was unreal. It has now become our favorite dish. Pair that with Conchinita Pibil and get the one with soft tacos - you will never regret. We've been eating here for over a year and absolutely love it. We're big foodies and travel all over the world only to eat and this place stands out as our top 10."

  • "I had a group of 10. We made a reservation ahead of time on their online system. We arrived a half hour early and the table was already set for us, nested along the back wall of the restaurant. The restaurant was relatively empty aside from us. We received excellent service, the waiter was very attentive. Every single meal out of the ten of us was delicious. I would definitely go back here."

  • "The service was not what I was accustomed to from a Gables restaurant. It was Mother's Day and the wait staff was probably tired...and it showed. The chicken quesadillas were not edible. The tortillas were hard as a rock and although in the menu it stated that guacamole was included, they had run out and didn't even offer another side. The only enjoyable item was the Skinny Margarita' Lastly, food was very overpriced for the quality. Would not recommend :("

The food and the service were outstanding. Found the price of the drinks to be a bit on the high side compared to the actual price of the entrée but everything was delicious and the personal service was superb."

  • "The Cactus Salad was delicious (marinated cactus, portobello). The Chile Relleno (stuffed poblano pepper) was also very tasty. For my main dish, my daughters and I decided to go with the Vegetarian Grill option, which is supposed to have grilled zucchini and guacamole. It was very disappointing because it only had only two small slivers of zucchini (cross-section, not lengthwise)! For being a vegetarian dish, I would have thought that there should have been more zucchini. The amount of zucchini was the same as the zucchini garnish on the Chile Relleno. I did tell the the waitress and she said she would tell the kitchen, but there was no compensation of any kind. My husband had the fish of the day special... Red Snapper... and it was good."

  • "It is a beautiful place. They seated us right away. They brought still water without asking, which was great, and filled water glasses all around. The waiter recommended a passion fruit margarita, which was pretty good, the second one was more like Hawaiian Punch - did they forget to put in the tequila? We had a round table and with all the dishes and glasses etc it was very tight. Lots of passing back and forth and no place to set anything down. It was kind of hard to order because there was a mariachi band that was good, but loud. Cochinita pibil was by far the best entree. Quesadillas were bland. Stuffed fried poblano pepper was ok, too much blah tomato sauce surrounding it. Overall the food was underwhelming, but ok."

Awesome chocolate cake, served alá mode with spiced almonds on the side. With a cortadito, n excellent ending to the meal. Would definitely return again anytime we are in the Miami area, even worth a special drive from 20-25 miles away."

  • "Excellent freshly prepared food. Stellar service. It was our first time eating here, and we will most definitely return. Deliciously authentic regional Mexican cuisine. This is not your average taco/burrito bar. The menu at Taravela reaches into Mexican culture, and history, to conjure up flavors that delight, and speak to it's rich heritage. To find a Mexican restaurant that's doing Mole's is not such a common task. Taravela's Mole is spectacular. The menu has a great range of choices. Fantastic!"

  • "Heard about this place from my husband's co-workers. So far their recommendations have been on point! The food here is authentic, flavorful and presented beautifully. I had the sabana de res which was good, though a little too much sauce for my taste (also wish the chicharron was on top so it remained crispy as opposed to soggy). Tried everyone a little of everyone's food which were all pretty good-tacos de carnitas, enfrioladas, Cochinita Pibil. Next time I want to try one of the Quesos Fundidos which I have read are delicious. Though my food was not my favorite I will definitely be back to try more as it is hard to find fresh, authentic mexican food in my part of town. Also-the guacamole is not to be missed!"

  • "Talavera could be a great restaurant if they professionalized their service and paid more attention to the customer. I've never had a professional server in Talavera, but this time, we had a terrible one. He was rude, kept interrupting rudely, would walk away in the middle of our questions, and would speak at the top of his voice when going around taking our orders. And when we needed something, including the check, we had to chase him by asking others in the staff. Sorry, but there are other Mexican restaurants in Miami that want to keep their customers. If you expect good service, this is not the restaurant to go to."

They did get a little busy on Friday night, but the waiter messed up the 2nd time - the last time we had the same waiter.
