Food is always great. Great imagination goes into the seasonalemus and the pairings of the flavors are refreshing. Definitely above what you typically find for lunch in the Capital Region. That being said, you pay for special food with you time... Food was sluggish arriving to lunch table for business meeting. The noise level made it difficult to hear all people at the table. That was disappointing, but when the dishes made their way the wait was worth it.

The only other time we've eaten here was for the Sunday brunch, which was very expensive, but awesome. We came back on a recent Friday night that was advertised as the patio farewell, sounded like fun. It took a while to get seated, but the managers were very accommodating getting us out of the wind. The waitress was very friendly and meant well, but was totally overwhelmed. She and a bus boy had the whole patio, which was full. She apologized several times. The food was very good and the ambiance nice, but the wait for drinks, dinner and the check was not commensurate with the prices. Poor staffing job on an advertised night.

My choice had asparagus as part of the title. I do not think that I received more than 1 tablespoon of asparagus bits. That is not a portion of a vegetable. Any good meal should include a vegetable portion. We eat to receive nutrients and also for pleasure. We has the pleasure of eating at the Tala but really wished that the meal had been more complete.

Dinner was ruined by loud music!!! Not only was the music loud but the choice of techno bop fueled the annoyance. Salad was served and wilted in freshly washed & dried hot bowls. The only bright spot was the superb service and ample drink pours. We will never return!!!

Invited business acquaintances to join us at Tala; we had an excellent waitress. The only complaint was my wife's salmon came out clearly overcooked. The response was well, it was on the grill; guess what we do not want hard fish. When they brought it back, it was cooked correctly but quite salty. She didn't complain, but I will take this opportunity to comment. I think someone should have noticed how black this fish was, and it wasn't blackened style. heads up.

When I made the online reservation I had noted that we were coming out for our anniversary. When we arrived at the restaurant we were brought over to a table with a Happy Anniversary sign. The service was excellent. The food was wonderful although a bit overpriced (but not unusually so for restaurants of this quality in the Capital District). The waitress was knowledgeable about the wine selection. At the end of the night they brought out an anniversary gift for us - two wine glasses. I would definitely recommend Tala to anyone celebrating a special occasion.

This was our first time at Tala. My husband and I consider ourselves foodies, so we were excited to try a few items. Our appetizer of the edemame wontons was amazing; we wish there was more! I ordered the scallops with corn succotash. The scallops were cooked and seared to perfection, but they were way too salty! The salt overpowered the rest of the spices and even the cauliflower purée. Needless to say, that was very disappointing... My husband's steak was cooked well and his dish was flawless. Great cocktails and a fun atmosphere! Maybe a bit too loud for date night or romance, but better suited for a group of friends.

I have dined at Tala many times & this time was terrible.Idon't understand why groups can bring their toddlers to a nice restaurant for brunch and let them run around like its a playground. The management must get control of this. This is the second Sunday in a row that kids were obnoxious.m parents, leave your toddlers at home or go to Applebee's, not Tala. Also, for the first time ever, we sat around waiting forever for our food.Itwas at least a 30 minute wait for a salmon salad and three Benedict's.The poached eggs clearly stayed under he heat lamp too long. They looked like fried eggs. However, management fixed this. They deducted the meal from the bill & were very apologetic.Kudos for fixing half he issues of the day.The service was good.

We always enjoy the Mazzone properties whether it is for a dinner out or a group function. Our first visit to Tala did not disappoint us. The host greeted us as if we were regular customers and was attentive throughout the evening. The wait staff was also attentive and courteous. The restaurant is upscale and attractive. We started with the cheese tray. It was delicious and the portions of delicious cheese were large. We didn't finish it since we ordered a salad big enough to share & dinner.

We were greeted by a welcoming smile emediatly (I forgot our server's name) ..but she was spot on with timing, attentiveness, and professionalism. And everyone's hot. The food was cooked as requested. Chefs in back care about what goes out. Flat-screen in men's room above the urinal is always an instant plus! Decor seems well done and not tacky. Nice ambience. Should Salon patrons walk thru ding room to get to salon? Nice X-exposure, nonetheless! Anyway, good stuff guys!

We are so glad we finally decided to have a late lunch at one of the new local restaurants, Tala Bistro. The Asian Calamari is the best calamari north of Florida. My husband and I loved Tala! From our warm greeting to the good wishes when we left, Tala hits the highest marks. Our server was friendly and efficient. But the food is the star of the show. Great menu and the specials this night were fantastic. Heirloom tomatoes appetizer was outstanding and the aokinawan pork belly to die for. Filet cooked perfectly and the maple glazed pork was mouth watering! The chef, Alex, even came out to check on us!! Tala is an amazingly high end experience in a friendly atmosphere. I brought 2 friends visiting from Florida to TALA. They really enjoyed their lunch. One of my friends had the lobster roll and the other roast beef dip sandwich. The service, as always was the best. My one friend and I raved about the Baby Arugala Salad. We all enjoyed the Thai Asparagus Soup and our lunch entrees. Tala is a fine place to have a meal. The decor reminds us of a NYC Bistro. You are doing things right. I have been several times to lunch and enjoy it every time. I look forward to my next visit.

I have to say this was our worst experience at Tala in 15 visits. We love the place, but I have to say that the service and the food quality on this very slow night was terrible. The waitress; Amanda was late delivering our food, so much so other waitresses had to get our food/drinks (after we asked them). She literally walked past and left us waiting as she waited on others. The coffee arrived late, my beer arrived late in a dirty glass, the calamari arrived overcook 2x. They did give us a free dessert, but we are not dessert eaters. She never returned to refill the water glasses. Seemed to be a very sweet girl but terrible service this visit (she was much better the last time we visited). We were extremely disappointed.
