"We LOVE this restaurant! Decided to sit at the bar and really enjoyed talking to the bartender, Jake, and learning about the wine from him. HE's new but seems very knowledgeable. The food was GREAT - especially the spring rolls, pork belly, chicken in a clay pot, and the egg dessert (get that if it's available)."

"Went for Sunday noodles. The tempura appetizer was meh -- the breading was way too heavy, and more appropriate for fish and chips than vegetable tempura. But the noodles were FABULOUS. The ramen texture was the best we've had in Chicago -- chewy, not too sticky, perfect. The cold soba was also just right, and I loved the bits of yuzu."

"Takashi is, in a word, "wonderful." We went Sunday Easter at 2:30 pm and experienced the Noodles Lunch. The starters were outstanding and we had fun sharing noodle dishes. Don't miss the ginger mint martini! It has become one of very favorite places in Chicago. The blend of Asian and French influences really works for us."

"The cauliflower risotto served with the Osso Buco was extraordinary. Other courses, were also superior in every way, although one minor nit - the Osso Buco was slightly under seasoned. The pacing of the meal was spot on, and the service was very good. For the quality of the food alone, the cost for our meal was a bargain. In short, my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to a return engagement soon."

"We suspect the multiple "outstading" reviews led us to anticipate a remarkable dining experience. And although the ambiance and service were exceptional, and the food was noteworthy, we felt, it did not merit all the acclaim. Yes, the selection and presentations are unique. And yes, the flavors are an intersting and subtle blend. But, we believe, another Chicago Asian-French fusion restaurant (Japonais) was a more memorable dining experience. [During our return home, we noted that our favorite dishes for the evening were both meat-based NOT the seafood Takashi is known for.]"

"Takashi is wonderful. The food and service is fabulous. I've eaten here many times and it never disappoints! Highly recommend the Summer Roll to start. The Chicken in the Clay Pot is fabulous -- although their fish dishes are usually a fav. Also recommend starting with the Scallops. Fabulous!"

"This restaurant is amazing. Second time coming and the food is consistantly wonderful. The chef was on the floor greeting and it's great to see the owner/chef taking an active role in the restaurant."

"A group of friends and I attended on a Sunday night, and it just so happened it was Takashi's Iron Chef experience night. The secret ingredient was egg, so we were treated to a wide range of dishes that featured eggs in many different ways. So, while we did not have the regular menu items, what Chef Takashi prepared that night was incredible! He truly is a culinary force, well deserving of the awards and accolades received to date. All members of my dinner party agreed that we have to go back to Takashi to sample the regular menu items, since what we received was so delicious."
