Taita Peruvian Cuisine & Bar features an outstanding new Peruvian menu with a touch of American influence in an upscale and cozy atmosphere.

The menu, inspired from a wide selection of Peruvian delicacies, is Jose “Chef Pepito” Aparicio’s pride: a culmination of over 20 years of cooking experience.

Chef Pepito is a man of many flavors...but you should already know that if you’ve ever had the pleasure of dining at his restaurant. His success in the culinary arts is owed to his passion for tasteful food and a community to share it with.

Taita opened in August of 2012 and was quickly selected as a “Best New Restaurant of 2012″ by the Westword Magazine of Denver. Taita is open every day for lunch and dinner and will begin serving brunch in the Spring!

  • "There aren't many Peruvian restaurants in Denver. Four, I think. Taita offers a good variety of Peruvian dishes, great variety of pisco cocktails, as well as moderate prices. Great ceviche classico, as I mentioned in the review title. Lomo Saltado was delicious too!"

  • "We were so impressed the first time we went there that I wanted to go back for my Birthday a few months later with eight of my friends. We ordered two appetizers Civiche Clasico (Mahi mahi marinated in freshly squeezed lime juice, cilantro, red onions, red aji limon, yellow aji limon,) and the Causa de Pollo y Avocado (Mashed yellow potato cake with chicken salad and avocado.) Both were delicious. The first time we ate there we had the mussels and the Ceviche Caliente both yummy too! All the Entree`s that we have had have been top notch, the unanimous favorite is Sudado de Pescado a fresh white fish slow-cooked with tomatoes and tender onions on a aji amarillo sauce, served with rice. Don't forget to try their Pisco Sours!"

  • "Not sure if this place is relatively unknown or just happened to be a slow winter evening. My boyfriend joked that he booked the whole place just for us. I was pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food was good, maybe because it is a cuisine I don't get to eat often. I had a traditional chicken and rice dish for the entree. The ceviche was different from others I've tried, and i would say I like this one more."

Been here several times Food - interesting, not super ethnic. brunch very good Service - good passionate wait staff, they seem to enjoy working there Atmosphere - really lively on nights with band. otherwise not so busy. Very warm and small restaurant feel when its busy though Overall - would go again, parking is on site but not much of it. street parking impossible, patio is fun to eat on"

  • "The quality of the food was poor. The ceviche was too spicy. The entrees used cheap ingredients and were of poor quality. The key lime pie tasted like a mini cheesecake. The menu prices were inflated and the dinner was not worth more that the coupon price even if prepared properly. They added on a large tip based upon the menu prices. This was a poor dining experience. I expect this restaurant to close within the next 6 months."

  • "We were lucky enough to have bee referred to this restaurant several months ago when we were in the area. We LOVED it, and could not wait to return. This visit, the restaurant was not as lively and busy, but the food and drinks were still amazing!! The dishes are fresh, so worth the wait. The fish is so fresh and tasty and the courses are very generous. Love the Mosquito drink--very refreshing next to the spice of the meals. We are looking forward to returning."

  • "Restaurant is easy to find but hard to identify with poor signage and a hard-to-read logo. Service was minimal and not very informational but, the food is amazing!! Wonderful ceviche and the Lomo Saltado, made with filet mignon, was a one-of-a kind taste treat. Food presentation was beautiful. Make sure to ask for a drink list when you first arrive."

  • "We had an early reservation, so the restaurant had just opened and had yet to heat up. The service was prompt and friendly, we just wish the room had been warmer! The ceviche was outstanding and I will return for that alone. I would have preferred a little more tartness to the Pisco Sour, but very much enjoyed the Malbec."

  • "I've eaten at this restaurant before and was looking forward to another evening here again. Not only was the service terrible, but the food was also bland and disappointing. It was just myself and my husband, and gratuity was automatically added to our bill. I'm not into tipping badly for subpar service, but that did rub me the wrong way. Probably not going back."

  • "Taita is definitely off the main road and not easily seen if you're not looking for it. It's a small restaurant that is warmly decorated. The ceviche app and mussel app are amazing--the seafood as well as the flavors are fresh and tasty. We both had the lomo saltado as the main course which had an unordinary combination of rice and fries but was also very tasty. Desert was an unbelievably wonderful coffee cheesecake. The food was defintiely amazing but not followed up with equally amazing service. It was a bit on the slow side and we were never asked if we wanted another beverage after ours went empty. BUT, pricing was good, food was excellent, and there was free lot parking next door. We will definitely go back."

  • "Appetisers of mussels and ceviche really good. Entree of spanish paella was outstanding as was all the fish dishes. Kale salad was beautiful but could have used a little more dressing or spice. pisco sours wonderful and key lime pie terrific. Waiter, Jessie, was very helpful. Used a travelzoo coupon and they were very cooperative and we could order off the menu which was unusual. Will certainly return."

  • "The ceviche and pisco sours were awesome. The flank steak with "chimmy churi" tasted good, but was a little cold, more well done than ordered, and a little on the cool side. The arroz con mariscos was packed with fish, but the flavor was a little bland -- especially compared to the flavor explosion of the ceviche. Next time we'll go for drinks and appetizers at the bar and skip the entrees."

  • "The food here was outstanding, specifically the ceviche classico and the Sudado De Pescado. I have never had a seafood dish as good as the Sudado. It was amazing and I will probably go back just for that dish. The ceviche was spicy and flavorful. The service was AWFUL! To their defense, however, it was New Years Eve and two of the four servers didn't show and one of them it was their first day. We waited a horrible amount of time for drinks. The new server took our food for another table, which increased our already long wait time. We had a reservation for 6:45, and finally got out of there at 8:30 after asking for the check 5 times. We were comped a single meal for the four of us which was nice."

  • "My wife and I took another couple to Taita because we so enjoyed our first experience. Menu has changed to incorporate new items while still retaining the wonderful fish dishes we had before. Alcoholic drinks are also uniquely prepared with different alcoholic elements -- very, very good as well. Overall, a great experience. We will return often even though on the opposite end of town from where we live and will introduce other friends as well. Highly recommend. My wife is lactose intolerant and requested a dish with this in mind. Executive Chef, Sean, even came out after dinner to be sure that all went well with the modified dish. Very nice and much appreciated gesture."

  • "CAUTION do not purchase the Travel Zoo deal for this restaurant. After one failed attempt at dining at Taita I was eager to return with my husband with a recently purchased Travel Zoo deal which included 2 apps, 2 mains and a shared dessert. Killer deal and no fine print indicating that portion size would be trimmed down and that the full menu was not available. Had these two points been made clear we would not have purchased the deal, but instead simply gone back to the restaurant to give it one more shot. Crab cakes were good, but only received one because of the deal. Ceviche was okay. Frijoles con Seco is a joke of a meal so poorly prepared I would not feed it to a dog. DO NOT order meal here. Arroz con Mariscos edible."

  • "Came hear hoping for type of food we enjoyed in Peru. Menu does not list the variety of "whitefish" used in several dishes on the menu. The waiter informed me their "whitefish" was cod. Our entrees took 40 minutes to arrive and the fish purveyed was not like any cod I have eaten previously. The tasty cilantro sauce covered the muddy taste of the "cod". Tamale appetizer was ordinary. Drinks were acceptable. Parking is a challenge, but regulars seem to use the post office parking next door so long as it's after business hours. On-street parking is unpredictable & street folk loiter for the nearby shelter to open. Not sure we'll come again. Best for neighborhood folks who will walk here."

  • "The food was fantastic. However, our waiter was horribly inattentive and often left us waiting for a long time. When we ordered a second round of drinks, he took my wife's first glass away even though it was still half full! He had a terrible attitude. In fact, the service was so poor that I don't think I would return to this place even though the food was very good."

The host bugged me when we asked for a table in corner and he said I guess we don't have to many reservations tonight. It was 5:30 and almost empty. I don't like that treatment. Waiter was awesome. Would go back. PS. Best Pisco Sour in town."

  • "I had been to Taita once for dinner and once for happy hour and decided to have my birthday dinner there. My reservation was for 30 people and they accommodated us with no problem! I know serving a group that large can be difficult but they handled it well. Everyone in the party loved the food and had a great dining experience. Definitely recommend it!"

  • "We arrived on time for our reservation to an absolutely empty restaurant. The place smelled like too much bad incense. The menu online was completely different than the menu at the restaurant - no brunch at all. No cocktail specials. When we asked about the differences, the server spent 5 minutes telling us about the great new restaurant the owners are opening in a few weeks. Totally horrible experience."

  • "Bottom line... I really want to like this place. The food is amazing! You could tell it was fresh and made with high quality ingredients. Where this place falls flat is the service. I booked this place on Open Table about an hour prior. When we arrived, we were seated at a high top table in the bar area. Not the best place, but acceptable. We waited for only a couple of moments until our waitress came to take our drink order. That is when the waiting began. We waited about ten minutes to get sangria, another 30 minutes to get our dinner. In all, we were there for close to two hours. If you don't have anywhere else to be, this is a great date place. If you have plans after, I would skip this place."

  • "This place is a surprising find, just a few doors off Colfax at Marion Street. Great food, reasonable prices, attentive and friendly wait staff made it a pleasant Saturday night out. It's unpretentious from the outside, but spacious inside. With room for about 60 diners, we were glad we reserved on Open Table, even though it was only a couple hours ahead. By 7:30 the place was nearly full. There were several large parties of 8 to 10, and quite a number of young children, so those categories fit here. There are lots of hard surfaces, so sound bounces around, but the tables are spaced widely enough that conversation was not difficult. The alcohol prices were very reasonable, keeping the total tab in the $35-40 per person range."
