Taboon means "oven" in Arabic. Considered the heart of our restaurant, the wood fired Taboon oven delivers freshly prepared specialties that are exotic, healthful and full of flavor. Our trademark "Middle Terranean" cuisine blends the traditions of the Mediterranean with Middle Eastern cuisine using French techniques to create dishes that are uniquely delicious. Visit us at 773 10th Avenue, at the corner of 52nd Street, just steps away from the Theater District to find out what everyone's talking about. And ask us about our brand new PRE-THEATRE PRIX FIXE MENU! Reserve a table with us between 5pm and 6:30pm Monday through Friday and enjoy 3 courses accompanied by our famous fresh-baked-to-order foccacia for only $35 per person!Continued

  • "Great service and wonderful food, presented with flair. Off the beaten track but worth the trip. We had the chicken taboon and the lamb and would recommend both."

  • "I had made a reservation for Taboon during Restaurant Week. Once we arrived, we waited a few minutes for an outdoor table, where there was less noise - not the issue. However, our server did not appear until 10 minutes of being seated at the table, our first appetizer took 15 minutes to be delivered, the couple that got seated after us, appeared to be getting their food before us. In addition, our waiter did not check on us at all during dinner; he took our order and then gave us the check. Lastly, the couple across from us, who got seated after we did, got much more attention; asking about the meal and a refill on drinks. We live around the corner from Taboon and thought it would become a regular dining experience. Not anymore!"

  • "Taboon is always amazing. The bread with the hummus and other dips is always my favorite. Also the salad with haloumi amd the kenafe. One of my favorite restaurants in manhattan."

  • "My wife and I were in NYC for restaurant week and chose Taboon as one of our destinations. We enjoyed the restaurant and the meals. We were both glad to include this restaurant on our visit to the city and hope to return in the future."

  • "the restaurant week dinner was good. the best were the bread and toppings. dessert (chocolate and sherbet ) were outstanding. when we came in at 5pm, we did not want table near the bar, and were told other people had requested the window tables before us!"

  • "There was nothing really serious to complain about at Taboon. Everything was pretty good. However, when I go to a restaurant, I'd like things to be notable. The wines that were available by the glass could use some help. We tried three different reds and none were very good. The food is good, but definitely not great. Every dish that we ordered (baby octopus, branzino, and the halibut special) lacked finesse. The "micro cilantro" was just some hand picked cilantro thrown on top. Taboon is definitely overpriced for what it is. I think that they think they're better than what they are. For the prices they charge, they should definitely pay more attention to details. There is nothing memorable about this place. I would not go back."

  • "We enjoyed the food, everything was delicious. The lamb duo was very well cooked, the lamb chop was super tender. The service was slow but not to a point where I had to flag someone down. I would recommend Taboon, I sure will return if I'm in the neighborhood."

  • "Superb food, service, ambiance. A neighborhood gem. Love, love, love this restaurant. PS. The bread, made as you order it , in a brick oven, is drop dead delicious. Run, do not walk to Taboon."

  • "The meal of Middle Eastern & Mediterranean fare we enjoyed at Taboon on Saturday is one we will not soon forget. Excellent service, the waitress was helpful to us in making selection from the menu to get the best sampling of their specialties, she was also very knowledge about the beer, wine, and cocktail menus. We were on a bit of a schedule to make curtain for a show and they were more than accommodating. The food was delicious, authentic, and exquisitely presented. We enthusiastically recommend Taboon."

  • "We really enjoyed dinner at Taboon. The restaurant was lovely and the food was so interesting with delicious and unexpected combinations of favors. I had a salad of beets and Asian pear that was visually beautiful and a perfect combination of sweet and salty. My fish dish had a lots of fresh herbs. My husband loved his chicken dish with couscous and interesting sauces. I highly recommend this restaurant./"

  • "Every bite was delicious! I'd day don't fill up on the bread, but it was so great that it's impossible to not want more and more. We had three loaves between three people! THen all the apps & entrees were great, & the Silvan dessert, we couldn't get enough! We talked about going back for just the bread and dessert:)"

  • "Starting with the lovely hostess Ali we were made to feel very comfortable (we were running late for our reservation and we were pre theater). Our server Tanya was so pleasant and refreshing and made us feel relaxed and placed our order so that we could leave on time. The food was excellent and everything was prepared from fresh ingredients. Only negative- main dish portions were small. Would definately try it again !!"

  • "We have eaten here when we visited New York and had such a good experience we went back this visit. It was another great experience. The service was attentive and amiable. The food was exquisite. We had the red snapper ceviche and pita falafe lappetizeres. Don't miss the halumi salad. We both had the Heraime (striped bass). It was great. Not too moist, perfect. The knaffe dessert was also fantastic.A great experience."

  • "Our evening at Taboon was perfect! We arrived at 5:30 for a pre-theater dinner. We had a lovely waitress who did not rush us. Everything was delicious from our drinks and appetizers to the striped bass for the main! The flatbread and babaganosh was the best we have ever tasted! The beet and pear salad was scrumptious and we had the stipper in 2 different ways- both delicious! We were able to enjoy a leisurely meal as the beautiful restaurant around us filled with Saturday evening patrons."

  • "With so many really good, moderately priced restaurants in the area, not sure why anyone would head here. Food is good, not great, but really overpriced. Dinner for 3 (3 apps, 3 entrees, one glass of wine), was nearly $200 with tax and tip. Just not worth it."

  • "love the place (been there before)... great lamb duo/Octopus grilled/hummus/dips/Sancerre/waitors/etc.... but after booking online w OpenTable......not liking where we were seated this time...in that weird corner (enter and turn right)...its poorly lit/no windows/near loud kitchen.... ...felt like I was in pergatory. ;)"

  • "We have eaten at Taboon several times over the past few years. It was never great but was good and convenient to the theatre area. Our biggest gripe was the service was aloof. Our most recent visit was our last. The food was just fair and the service was rude."

  • "I love everyting about this restaurant, from the intimate atmosphere to the delicious food and outstanding service. It has quickly become our favortie NYC dinner spot. The breads are warm and delightful. The appetizers and entrees are all outstanding. Flavors are amazing, and not over done. Nothing else compares!"

  • "I am a Midwesterner who eats beet salads everywhere I go, especially if they do NOT have goat cheese in them, and Taboon's was incredible! Pears and drizzle of tzatziki. We all liked everything we got-excellent schoog. It was entertaining to watch the gymnastics class across the street during dinner."

  • "I've never had a bad meal at Taboon. There are plenty of vegetarian selections, and each dish is flavorful and artfully presented. However, the real showstopper is the bread. We always get a full order per person."

  • " In another life? I so enjoy tzatziki and dips and warm bread baked in a clay oven, with fish ( Bronzino) roasted in that same oven. Taboon uses the best ingredients, prepares them with care, and I then am happy, thankful for bounty and a glass of wine."

  • "As a French resident in NY, I'm very picky on food and rarely recommand restaurants (sorry, French are pretentious...). Taboon is one of the first restaurant I discovered when visiting Hell's Kitchen with newyorkers. Since I'm living in the neighborhood, I'm always excited to go back there on a monthly base, manly with parisian visitors. Taboon cuisine is very tasty and so much influenced by mediteranean flavors (which reminds me a "bite" of my original home in the south of France ). Guys, I'm having good diners and great time in your restaurant. "

  • "Been coming here for many years and the food is always good an creatively prepared BUT...... I am not sure that the portions could be any smaller and still be called an entree! Given the small portions which are highly priced, it is very petty to charge for an extra order of bread. They give you one order if you are a party of 2 and the same order for a party of 4 "
