  • "We loved our night out at Taboon! The restaurant has a very warm and cozy feel. Our table was ready upon arrival, our server was very helpful with answering our questions and making suggestions. We were happy to see they offered reasonably priced bottles of wine too! The service was prompt and everything we ordered was SO tasty and delicious. We would have loved larger portions bc the everything was so good, but I rather have a few tastes of something delicious than a huge portion of mediocre food. I can’t wait to go back!"

  • "Rainy night. Didn't want to walk far. Taboon fit the bill. Usually jammed, was happy to see an opening on OpenTable for a convenient time. Everything was good to very good. Service could have been better. The wait staff was a little condescending. It was my first time there and it seemed like we were supposed to know something we didn't know. In other places our server usually asks if this is our first time there so they can highlight differences that are provided by the eatery. Not at Taboon. We'll try it again as the food was good to very good and it's so close I will overlook a snooty waitress."

  • "Sat at the bar last night for dinner. Our bartender,Tanya, was fantastic. She maned the perfect Perfect Manhattan. The service was impeccable and the food was delicious. Their bread is out of this world, their trio of dips is incredible. The food is presented beautifully and is quite delicious. A definite gem in the neighborhood!!!"

The Mediterranean/Middle Eastern cuisine was generally excellent - we loved the branzino, the lamb kebobs - although the zucchini appetizer was bland and mushy. Great pre-theatre option."

  • "The food was good. The wine recommendation was excellent. The problem was after making a 10:30 PM reservation four weeks in advance we were seated in the entrance/bar/kitchen area. We were quickly told the dining room was full but there were clearly empty tables. Despite our expression of disappointment no accommodation was offered. It made a very special day not so special."

  • "I have eaten at this restaurant before but never have I experienced what I saw this time. First and foremost their up charge of $10.00 on their restaurant menu was a total rip off and not worth it. Secondly I asked for some hot sauce and I was brought a spoon full of hot sauce. To my surprise on our bill was a $3.00 charge for the spoon of hot sauce. I was afraid to ask for salt and pepper. I work in the area for a large company and this is probably the last time I eat at this place."

  • "Taboon is small but nice, in every way. Small space and limited menu, but the food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. The hummus and house foccacia are outstanding, as are the dishes. The lamb is always excellent, and the fishes are good too. The Silan dessert is fantastic. The only downside is that the space is a bit cramped, and the prices are decidedly steep -- particularly for the size of the portions. On the other hand, the first house foccacia is free. Perfect little romantic spot!"

Wait staff very friendly and efficient (Allison is lovely and personable), atmosphere is comfortable and relaxed with nice music at a quiet enough level to allow good conversation. Altogether a pleasant dining experience, which I have already repeated with like results. I have ben there with 5 other people total, and every single one has been pleased and satisfied. I would also recommend that the Chocolate Cardamom Mousse from the Restaurant Week special menu be added to the regular dessert menu - a real winner: complex flavors and nice textural balance, not overly sweetened."

  • "We love this place...the food is always beautifully done, the flavors are distinct and I've never had a bad meal there in the few years I've eaten there. The waiters are knowledgeable and kind (the front of house staff tends to be officious and, well, young.) Regardless, it's a great find...don't miss the bread stuffed with feta, don't ignore the squid, the osso bucco is fine and pretty much every fish, but especially the branzino is beautifully rendered."

  • "When I picked the place I looked at the RW menu first & liked that they included a foccacia with trio of dips (hummus, tzatziki & baba ghanoush) for the table, as well as the appetizer, entree & dessert. The bread was SO good, & they said they could give us another (though didn't mention they would charge us for it, bit sneaky, but was worth the extra $4.50). I had the cajun shrimp as appetizer, lamb kebobs for entree & chocolate cardamom mousse to finish. All the food was great, fairly small portions but altogether filled us up. My friends had the Silan & Halva-lemon cake for their desserts, also very good. Glad we came for restaurant week, it was a good value, normally seems a bit pricey."

He had the cream asparagus soup, the Moroccan seafood and the chocolate mousse and I had the Mediterranean salad, the lamb kabob and the halva-lemon cake. Everything we ordered was delicious. We also had a glass of Malbec each which paired well with the food. The service was good and the ambiance was nice. We will certainly come back."

  • "We come here quite often for brunch. The menu is a bit different, mimosas are unlimited with brunch, and the food is tasty. We like the option of designing your own flatbread, so, we never tire of the menu. Service is up and down...sometimes great ad sometimes dreadful. Most of the time, ok. This is a bit out of the way if one is not going to theatre, but it is one of our go to brunch places for the variety and quality of the food and reasonable prices. Pleasant outdoor space in warm weather."

  • "I usually rate my satisfaction on a ratio of quality for pricing. For a meal that cost my parents and I $112 (we ordered very conservatively - shared plates, and they don't drink), the overall quality of both the food and the service was, I would say, worth about that much. Our server was friendly and knew the menu, and the runners knew where to put their plates - but it was lacking the kind of care that a true fine dining establishment takes in its customers - that extra savoir-faire that true NYC professional waiters have. The food was fresh and yummy, served at all the right temperatures; not extraordinarily inventive, although there were many dishes I would have liked to try if I had the budget/time (and many wines)."

  • "I went there for Restaurant Week. The portions and amount of food was just right and everything was delicious! They offer a wide variety of options on their RW menu too. Unfortunately the service was very slow. There was too much time between courses. The 3 course dinner took almost 2 1/2 hours to complete - entirely way too long. The server herself was ok. She barely interacted with us & only checked on us once. The busboys however were on point! Our waters were always full & plates were cleared quickly."

The waiter asked us off we would like more bread and we said yes. The surprise came when the bill reflected a charge of $10+ dollars for the second helping of bread."

We tried the kube which was excellent and red snapper ceviche-- that wasn't the best I've ever had. This was my boyfriend's birthday treat and we had a nice romantic meal... Word to the wise-- reserve even on a weeknight or expect a wait."

  • "My husband & I had theater tix right around the corner from Taboon. But dinner definitely set the stage! Starting with the octopus, the beet salad, an excellent wine choice from our waiter, James, for me & a ginger infused drink from the bar for my hubby, dinner was a hit. My main course of lamb and steak for him were equally great performers! TY! The staff deserves a standing ovation!"
