  • "Very good and innovative food Nice design of the restaurant Unfriendly blond male waiter"

  • "We dined on a Sunday for brunch and were struck by only being able to order a pre-fixe menu, and that the price was $35/pp. we thought: OK, maybe it will be memorable. the food portions were small but the ingredients were interesting; however, a number of items, such as the omelettes, were overcooked, and the house sweet rolls were no better than Betty Crocker makes. add to this difficulty getting our server's attention for more drinks, and it became a forgettable experience. I wish it were different, and with thought and effort the owner can make it so."

  • "This restaurant is quite expensive, yet most portions are extremely small and the food is only ok. Not worth the price and the service wasn't even that great. It was just a bit pretentious."

  • "I had made a reservation through open table for 8:15 and was informed upon arrival that my reservation was listed in the system as being at 8:45. After showing my reservation confirmation to the hostess I was told a table would be ready soon but no accommodation was made and I was not seated until after 8:45. Table does not have an adequate waiting area (either you sit in front of a drafty garage door or you're pushed up against hanging coats right by the front door, which is also drafty) so the wait for a table was unpleasant. Once seated, the food and service were top notch, but unfortunately it was a poor start to an anniversary dinner with my girlfriend."

  • "This restaurant is just the best - the food is very creative, well executed and delicious. The restaurant is very cute and has thought about every detail - from the wine glasses to the "notebook" style menu. Even though it's a little pricey, I always feel great that I spent the money on high quality food, service and ambiance."

  • "From start to finish the experience at Table was unique and memorable. The food was distinctive and left a lasting impression beyond dinner! I'll definitely be back!"

  • "My roommate and I finally made it to Table to take advantage of their restaurant week menu and were not disappointed! Starting with great selections off their wine list, we were seated at the counter to watch the action in the kitchen, which was mesmerizing. We both loved our selections, the wild boar tagliatelle being my personal favorite. The desserts were better than expected - we were a little unsure what we were getting, based off the description, but the deconstructed cheesecake with blood orange sorbet blew us away. And the ricotta donut-hole-thingies tasted like the fanciest, most tender funnel cake I've ever had - so good!"

  • "This was our first time at Table and it was clearly the star of our restaurant week outings. The setting is very charming and the service warm and attentive. We ordered a good variety of dishes among the 4 of us. The presentations were beautiful and there was not a weak dish among the group. The standouts were the tiger shrimp, the beet carpaccio, and the lamb entree. Desserts were all excellent. We look forward to many future returns."

  • "I saw a review of Table on DCist and decided it was worth trying. So, my fiance and I went to Table during restaurant week, and we can't wait to go back for our next date night. Not only was the food delicious, the plating was so beautiful; it looked like art. The rustic and modern decor was fun and welcoming. I'd recommend asking to sit upstairs."

  • "It was restaurant week. We had a pre-fix 3 course menu which was pretty tasty albeit underwhelming in size. The wine selection is outrageous-nothing under $50 a bottle! We ordered a bottle and they brought out a different bottle. They apologized and brought ours out. Then some members of our party ordered beer which they brought out warm! The worst part was that event though our reservations were at 5:30 PM and the restaurant was almost empty, we were seated at a huge round table by the front door, kitchen, bar area and it was FREEZING. We asked to change tables twice and were told that it was restaurant week and they couldn't move us even though there were only 4 of us in the party and there were plenty of other 4 tops empty."

  • "Service was great and we gave special thanks to Alejandro who helped bus and clear our table. Food was OK. Two of the dishes we wanted were sold out (rabbit mousse & rack of lamb). Will come back to try the regular menu which looks outstanding. Our waitress was attentive and passionate."

  • "My first experience at Table was for Restaurant Week in winter 2014. The restaurant was serving a restaurant week menu along with a couple of items from the regular menu. My friends and I all enjoyed our meals, though we all wished the portions had been bigger. I am inclined to say that the average person needs three courses to feel full for dinner. The ambiance was chill and unpretentious. This place is definitely a simple fare sort of place. They serve wine and beer only and from what I could see after skimming through the menu, they have an interesting wine and beer list."

  • "We were skeptical about going in during Restaurant Week, but Table didn't disappoint. It was slightly busier, but dinner was excellent and the atmosphere just got a little more energetic (in a very pleasant way). The RW tasting menu served up some top notch, flavorful options; very pleased! Our particular waiter seemed a bit overwhelmed by all the activity but managed to provide decent service. It should be noted that -during other visits, service here is always excellent."

  • "We had the pleasure of sitting at one of the tables right next to the food prep area. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but it was a great learning opportunity. The chefs were more than happy to engage us with regard to questions we had. Overall, it was probably the best part of our experience - next to the ricotta fritters!"

  • "The wine by the glass was good. I had the escargot for the first course, it was tasty, but not swimming in butter like I was expecting it to be. Second course was the venison stew, which was a little sweet, but it blended well with the other flavors in the dish. The dessert was the cheesecake mousseline, which was probably the best dessert I have ever had. It was kind of the reverse of a normal cheesecake, with most it actually being the crust."

  • "The five course tasting menu was delicious. Each course was well prepared and presented. The atmosphere is quiet and we enjoyed basically being in the kitchen and watching everyone work. We would gladly return to try dinner one day."

  • "it was my first time to dine at Table. What a pleasant surprise! the menu was inspired, food delicious, service excellent and good wine selection. the small space made for an intimate and romantic dining expereince. parked on 9th street, just around the corner. I will definitely return to this charming and creative place."

  • "This is our third time at Table and our previous excellent experiences were overshadowed by our most recent experience. The restaurant lacked all the energy it previously had (and on a Saturday night too!), the service was lackluster, mediocre, and unprofessional. When asked to recommend a wine, the server recommended the most expensive one on the menu. Our food came out warm (not hot) indicating that it had been sitting around waiting for the server to pick it up. We sent two dishes back because of the temperature and, to its credit, the restaurant's manager did his best to make it up to us, which was much appreciated. But overall, the experience was disappointing. Table has lost its luster."

  • "The food was fantastic, and the server we had was really kid--easily 6 stars on a 5 star scale. I had to doc them though, because after making a reservation for 8, we still got a call at 7:50 asking if we could move our time back because they were too full. I think they're still a bit too popular for their own good--for obvious reasons--and end up way overbooking. I know a few people this has happened to, so I would just suggest to book earlier in the night if at all possible. Otherwise, absolutely incredible experience. They made up for the 30 minute delay with complementary champagne, and the food was definitely worth the wait."

  • "We had dinner there with a couple who were visiting from the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was a great taste of American culinary flare. The food was delicious with nuanced flavors that really made each bite worthwhile. The desserts were delicate and refined. The venue was a great neighborhood choice for us and the style of the restaurant fits really well with the wave of gentrification and rehabilitation."

  • "For Brunch, it was a 5-course meal at Table--some of the food was excellent and some was either okay or not as exciting. Overall, good value for $35. If you are going to get a drink, would just recommend doing the bottomless brunch as most of their drinks are > $10, so it doesn't make sense to go a la carte"

  • "Nice meal the Saturday night after New Year's. Our 7.5 year old joined three adults and the staff could not have been more accommodating and efficient. Eating upstairs was akin to the comfort of having dinner at home, but without the effort. The Pad Thai Mussels and the Coq au Vin were great and the Chocolate Bombe was a great way to end the meal. Next time I would like to try the more energetic downstairs."

  • "Had heard this was a fun restaurant with good food so was very happy to have gotten a reservation for New Years Eve. The sparse interior was fine to me but my boyfriend couldn't stop commenting that it looked like the whole place came out of Ikea. The menu was a set 5 courses--none of which were anything special. Food was average at best. And we barely saw our server. Since it was a fixed menu he disappeared after we choose our entree and only reappeared when we asked for the check--which he dropped off at the table and then simply walked away--no "thank you," no "happy new years." That was moment I realized my boyfriend was right and that we would never be going back. Waste of $230."

  • "Table is on of my favorite restaurants in DC but this new year's eve they dropped the ball a little bit. While we had a great tasting menu, service was bordering on rude and the micro climate at our table next to the entrance was freezing as guests coming in frequently forgot to shut the door. We wished we had a heat lamp next to us."

  • "For the excellent reviews this restaurant has received, I thought the meal was average at best. Average and not cheap. The food was fine but unexceptional. I had a fish that was quite tasty. Two people in my group had the cauliflower steak (which I've had at other restaurants in DC for less money and more food). It tasted fine but included three large pieces of cauliflower on a plate and nothing else. Not exactly what I'd expect out of a main course dinner. It took about 30-40 minutes for our dessert to arrive after we ordered it. They did give us the dessert for free due to the wait. The staff was friendly, no complaints. I will definitely not be coming back to this restaurant. I've had considerably better food for less money elsewhere."

  • "We were seated at 945 for our 9pm reservation, surprised when our vegetarian entrée was subbed for something else without notice, and even charged for the free drinks we had while waiting. While the space is great and the food pretty good, until management steps up, Table isn't ready for prime-time."

  • "Aside from getting the wrong appetizer (snails, which were delicious!), my dining experience was nothing short of remarkable. The wine list is in the process of being redone so there are some limitations but the food and service is stellar and I can't wait to go back."

  • "Had a great time celebrating my birthday. We were seated at one of the two chef tables they have, slightly uncomfortable chairs but enjoyed watching the chefs prepare dishes all evening. Really disappointed they were very low on their wines. Apparently the shipment was to arrive the next day; however, when your recommending a comparable wine, you meet the price point of the wine the customer requested - don't try to negotiate a price because you're offering a more expensive bottle...your low supply is not the customers fault. Other than that, the food was great and just what we expected in a farm-to-table concept."

  • "Table is lovely and intimate. The food is high quality, but the portion sizes are too small for the prices. I had the lobster and grits. It was the tiniest drizzle of grits i had ever seen. The service started out well, but after our food arrived, our waiter disappeared until I flagged him down to ask for dessert menus. All in all, we enjoyed our food and the experience, but I don't think I would go back anytime soon."

  • "I love Table. This is my 3rd or 4th time dining here and it has never failed. I had the roasted cauliflower - it was divine and also had the lobster and grits. I didn't think the meal could get better after the cauli, but the lobster proved that sentiment wrong. Always happy to return. Always a great experience."

  • "We ate at Table last week. Very innovative, local food with creative spins on classic dishes. The decor has a very minimalist- Scandinavian vibe with long wood tables and benches. The small restaurant keeps the noise level down and while the restaurant was full it still felt private. The service was outstanding, our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and the food. You could tell he was passionate about the restaurant and his excitement translated into his spot on recommendations. I had the Lobster and Grits which was amazing. Other favorites were the Risotto, pork and clams, and Cauliflower steak. For dessert the Bruleed Rice Pudding and Butter Chess Pie were delicious. Great neighborhood gem, highly recommended."

  • "I've been wanting to try this spot for a while. After going out with a new guy, I decided a 3rd date at Table would be the perfect restaurant. I made a reservation on Open Table and mentioned it was a date and hoped they could make it special. When we arrived we were sat at the Chefs table. We had an amazing view, direct access to the chef, and an amazing server. Our food was perfect, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience."

  • "A friend who is a foodie recommended table, so I went in with high expectations. From the moment we sat and saw the open kitchen and were able to witness the back and forth between kitchen staff and wait staff, I was sold. The wine was excellent, the cheese selection we ordered was exquisite, and the main course (Lobster grits) absolutely fantastic. And the service was extraordinary; there when you wanted them but not hovering too much. Definitely recommend as plan to go back again when I'm in DC."

  • "I took my wife to Table for her birthday, and we were thoroughly delighted. We've long complained about the lack of outstanding, innovative dining in DC, in the mid-to-upper range, and Table is now instantly at the top of our favorites list. We sat at the Chef's table and were fascinated as we watched the dishes come together. We started with a quail appetizer which was perfectly done and complemented by unusual touches like spinach flan. Our mains were the bison hangar steak and roasted duck, both of which were also perfectly done, pleasingly plated, and accompanied by subtle, flavorful and interesting additions, like a bed of sweet and tangy wheat berry sauce underneath the bison. Very excited to go back again and again."

  • "I liked everything about Table. I was there with three friends for brunch and the food was delicious and creative. The brunch is 5 small courses and as each dish was presented, I was impressed with the prentantion and the blends of flavors. I also enjoyed all the design elements of Table: the decor, the composition book themed menus, serving pasties from a basket at the table, even the bill was delivered in a unique folder. The food was perfectly prepared and they also very graciously accommodated my vegetarian friend. The staff were wonderful and the atmoshere was relaxed and welcoming. I look forward to going back!"

  • "Our very helpful server steered all of us to a bone marrow mousse consomme for the first course. The mousse was velvety flavorful goodness. The broth made your mouth water just smelling it. Two of us took our server's recommendation for the duck entree which was tender and deliciously raisin flavored without being sweet. I had the bison hangar steak which was cooked to perfection with awesome wheatberries and a spinach jelly which was ridiculously good. I had the mocha mousse Bombe which was perfection in taste, texture, and presentation. My companions got the ginger apple cake and the brulee rice pudding which was superb. Service was intelligent, helpful, and zero stuffiness. All I can say is bravo and see you next time."
