I had ordered the filet medium well and the waiter stated that might take a little extra time. We made it very clear we were in absolutely no rush. Might meal came with three burnt pieces of asparagus (clearly a garnish versus a side) and a rare filet. By the time my meal came back correctly everyone else was done.

The restaurant has a prime rib special on Friday and Saturday nights and if you get there for their happy hour, you can have a fabulous meal and drinks for a reasonable price. My husband got the prime rib, which was very good and cooked to his medium rare liking. The salmon with beurre blanc sauce and rice was also very good. We like to visit the annual Golden Arts festival, then get a reservation at this great nearby venue. They also have a nice selection of 'skinny' maragaritas, which was a welcomed surprise.

Table Mountain Inn is truly a neighborhood gem with a wonderful atmosphere, excellent service and a deep rooted tradition that lives on. The food was fantastic and the staff was very professional, friendly and knowledgeable. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone either living in the area or visiting from out of town. Absolutely one of our faves!! A MUST HAVE is the flaming asadero cheese! All of the food is grand! I have many different food sensitivities and for the most part everyone here is considerate, accepting, accommodating and friendly about these issues. Every once in awhile we have a waiter that is not so much and makes it obvious. If you are Coke drinker beware they serve Pepsi! At brunch you have to ask for the yummy cinnamon rolls (WHAT>?), it's brunch bring these goodies to every table, don't put this on the customer to ask for, what if it's their first time and they don't know about them? GIVE THEM to every one!

The hostess tried seating us in a booth that was to small for me to fit into and walked away. We requested a table from the server that came with water. She was wonderful and made the accommodation for us. Our server was wonderful and did a great job! The food tasted good, however, the portion for the price seemed high. For what were charged, each person in our group received one very small cinammon roll, which was not freshly baked. My suggestion is that at this price point and for ambience, it would be best to have a basket of fresh-baked pastries at the table It is unlikely that we'll be back for Sunday brunch again.

We have eaten here many times, and this was the first time the meal was so-so. Out of the for of us, one was good, two were ok and one was unacceptable. Our waiter was very good, and we usually have very good meals here. All in all, we will eat here again, hopefully the kitchen was just having an off night.

Our book group frequently chooses Table Mountain Inn's Cantina Grill for our meetings and the site for events. We have never had a bad experience there--the staff is wonderful, just attentive enough but not hovering; the food is consistently excellent and they are always kind enough to accommodate requests for a little more or a little less. Always a really great experience.

  • I Was Disappointed
    MollysMom

I was disappointed in my entree - it sounded so good on the menu. The "cherry sauce" tasted like bottled brown gravy with some dried cherries in it. The chicken breast was just breaded and fried and the mashed potatoes were just dry and blah. I added a side of grilled asparagus and it was so salty, couldn't eat it. My friend had the skirt steak (I think that's what it was caled) and it was nothing special; same blah, dried mashed potatoes. The two men had the ribs and they said the sauce was very good. We decided to go else where for dessert. Our waiter was very good (Dan, I think), but service was slow. I think they must have been short handed.

Due to our bad experience in 2008 & 2009, I was hesitant about taking out-of-town guests for dinner. However, we decided to give it another try and the food and customer service was far better! Our waiter was awesome (wish I could remember his name) was polite, outgoing, knowledgeable about the menu and had good suggestions. Ambience is nice with a southwest theme. The huge margaritas were great, as well as the hand mashed guacamole and cornbread muffins. Guests said the Pinon Cherry Chicken and Slow Roasted Chicken Enchiladas were delicious. My fish tacos were good, but the fish was a tad bit overcooked, reason for 4 stars. Dessert was very good. Overall, it was a very nice evening and will come back.

We have been eating here for years. Our favorite time to come is the first Saturday of the Month when the Classic Cars drive up and down the main street, almost like on parade. This restaurant is always busy - make a reservation first. It is always nice to sit outside but the ambiance inside is very nice too. This particular visit we came for Brunch which we have never done before. Delicious! You are served FREE baked fresh from the oven cinnamon rolls while you wait for your food. The Sparkling Mimosas are only $5! The Banana Bread French Toast is melt in your mouth - no syrup is even needed! The Golden Omelette is amazing, especially served with a side of Red Chile sauce! Absolutely the best hash browns ever! Service is always great.

Going to Table Mountain Grill and Cantina at the Table Mountain Inn is, first of all, a trip down memory lane. The former Holland House Hotel occupied the site of the now significantly remodeled Table Mountain Inn. In the 50's we had our Christmas dinners there. Today the SW decor fits very well in the charming town of Golden, CO (home of Miller Coors Brewing) Whether for brunch, happy hour or dinner, the service at the Table Mountain Grill and Cantina has always been good and the food - much of it southwestern - is very good. Prices are very appropriate. It's a great place in a fun little town - just a very short drive from the heart of Denver.

The special chicken with coconut sauce was highly recommended by the waiter. The chicken was over cooked and dry, and the sauce had little flavor. The waiter was negative about most of the menu items. He was high energy, and did not check back with the table after the meal was served. Water was not refilled and we had a long wait for our entrees. We recently ate brunch there and the food was average.

We arrived early and understandably had to wait. We did get seated about 15 minutes prior to our reservation time. The restaurant was very busy. The buffet was very good and was kept stocked regardless of the amount of guests. We had to ask for water a couple of times which you shouldn't have to do at a buffet. Overall a pleasing experience.

Mother's Day brunch was not as expected. They put us way in a back room (lacking ambiance & cold). The buffet was "so-so" and over priced, crowded lines, and service was lacking (had to clear our own plates from the table and ask for water refills over and again). Not the experience I have had over the years eating at the Table Mountain Inn. Generally, I love it! But, this was cold and uninviting! Won't do it again.
