I have now been to Bocado 6 times. Lunch and dinner during the week and on the weekends. The food never disappoints. The service is ALWAYS very cordial, but SLOW. My advice is to schedule your dining time early. Don't arrive hungry because you'll be dying of hunger by the time your food arrives, UNLESS you order the burger, which always arrives quickly.

Our friend gave us a gift card to Bocado and we had a very nice night out. We didn't really like the entree options, which were limited, so we went the small plates route. We ordered three small plates and that was plenty to fill us up. The food and drinks came out very fast which was nice. The only negative is that our waitress forgot about us entirely. We had thought about ordering more small plates, but she never came back to check on us so we called it a night. We had to eventually go to the hostess to ask if we could pay and leave. Other than that blip, it was a very nice evening and we would recommend Bocado to friends and family.

We've tried Bocado twice in the last month. Excellent small plates and good that vegetarians and those who need gluten-free can also find great options. But it's just TOO noisy - they need to work on that - there are companies that specialize in reducing restaurant sound levels so that patrons can actually have conversations while they enjoy the excellent cocktails. And on that front - it seemed short staffed at the bar on Saturday August 23 - need more staff and especially bartenders.

The last time there were 4 of us, this time there were 6. The 1st time everything was spot on, served at the same time, and a great meal. Made reason for a return visit! This time the food was all good, but 1 of the 6 of us received our plate almost 8 minutes after everyone else! And no offer of anything was made to make up for us all sitting there staring at her empty setting while our all of our food cooled. Notgood.

We were a table of four friends, three of whom had previously been there for lunch, and two had been there before for dinner. While lunch is a pleasant experience noise-wise, we ALL had a truly difficult time trying to hold a conversation at dinner. Everyone remarked unfavorably on that! My ears were literally ringing all of the next day. In addition, there is a constant line-up for the restrooms. The drinks are beyond amazing and the food was really superb....but I don't know if I would go back again due to the noise level!

This is a great place that my neighbor recently introduced to our Saturday dinner group and I fell in love. The cocktails are great, the wine list is great, wine by the glass is great and the FOOD... YUM! From the peach & blackberry salad to the smoked trout dip to the deviled eggs, it is all great and then I tried the burger. Wow! The burger is a delicious creation of two thin patties cooked well until they a slightly crispy on the edges with cheese and pickles on an H&F bun.

I love Bocado. My wife and I have been here many times, especially when we need to satisfy a burger craving. The food is always excellent and, in general, the service is usually up to snuff as well. On our last visit, however, our waitress was simply overwhelmed. She didn't get us our drink orders correctly, didn't bring one of our appetizers, and was sort of flippant about her poor performance. Thankfully, the manager apologized and comped us our appetizers (of which there were many) and satisfactorily rectified the situation. This experience aside, I could not recommend Bocado more highly. I will definitely be back!

must have been a new server. we ate dinner Friday night August 8, and we had a terrible service experience. We were seated promptly at a bad table and ordered our drinks and our meal. The appetizer arrived and 10 minutes later the drinks arrived we did not get any service for another hour and SAT there with empty glasses turned upside down on the table and no one even noticed. I would definitely give this restaurant another try as this is the first time that we have had terrible service hopefully that person will be better trained or replaced soon.

I had the duck confit, which is a new menu item, and it was absolutely amazing. I also highly recommend the watermelon salad as it has such a unique flavor and combination of items involved. It can be a little noisy at times, but the overall restaurant has a phenomenal setup, and the bar is perfect for a late night snack.

We had an 8:00 reservation. Didn't get seated til close to 9:00. Didn't get food til close to 10:30. Manager said the kitchen was overwhelmed. You can't be picky to eat here. The menu is quite small, but every option is delicious. I ordered the prosciutto wrapped trout and my date ordered the burger. We also started the night with a glass of wine each and the duck appetizer along with deviled eggs. Everything was absolutely wonderful, but there was only 1 option for most meat dishes i.e. One chicken dish, one beef, one duck, and two fish options. Very knowledgable server and quick service, but it was a little cramped and loud. I'd go back though

Food was very good and interesting - Unfortunately, service was not good at all. Ordered wine and a beer after waiting forever for someone to initially come to the table. Our appetizers/salads came before drinks. We had finished our appetizers before drinks arrived. I ordered a second glass of wine for dinner, but it never came. After I was through eating, the waitress came and gave me a story about the computer system being messed up. I had watched them pour my wine - it sat at the bar through my whole meal. Anyway, food is worth the trip, but don't expect great service. Other reviews seem to echo that.

My husband started out with 1/2 dozen of the Chunu oysters, the perfect small size and delicious. But the big treat was when his entree came of the seared grouper with the butter bean, tomato, corn salad ... His meal was delectable and he was pleased with every morsel. I tried the kale salad which seems to be all the rave everywhere but I guess I might prefer it cooked rather than raw, but at least I tried it! My entree of roasted chicken was delicious and enough for me to bring some home for lunch the next day. We enjoyed our Saturday night impromptu dinner and this was the perfect place.

This is our second time dining at Bocado and I was really looking forward to the lobster roll. They have changed the recipe and I didn't enjoy it. I prefer a lobster roll with mayonnaise although I know some recipes just use melted butter. The burger stack was amazing as usual. The bartender made our group a cocktail based on ingredients we suggested and it was wonderful. The service was very good.

We arrived at 7:30 last Saturday, and it was already so loud we could barely hear ourselves think. When the noise became unbearable, we asked to move out to the patio, and the staff said yes. Out there, we could actually hear, and we enjoyed the rest of our evening. As for the food, I raved about Bocado's delicious burger, and all four of us ordered it. Unfortunately, it was not nearly as tender and flavorful as the first time I'd had it. My non-alcoholic cocktail (lime and ginger beer) was really delicious, though.

Second time and not going to hurry back. Everything was totally uninspired, from the service to the food. No dining room supervision (management) which might explain the service part. It wasn't that busy so service should have been better. Two of three scotches out of stock and valet bumped my new car into something (parking is a mess there). Too many other (better) options, especially on the Westside.

We had late, 9:45 reservation and were treated well by our server. Our meal has been overshadowed by a followup tweet we received from someone at the restaurant saying we overstayed our welcome and also didn't tip well. We left 22% on our table-total (over $200) and stayed an hour and a half, which to me is fair on both cases. I would not go back here because of this. And that's a shame because the food was excellent and we didn't receive any indication from the staff that we should leave earlier... the table before us left only about 10 minutes prior to us. Very disappointed

They were both the fish plates so if you weren't interested in eating fried chicken or beef, you were out of luck. The waitress also informed us that we could only get our burger well done. Why? And then there was grissell in it. YUM Overrated - would not go back.

Bocado changes its innovative appetizer menu periodically and each time we go, we are amazed that this creative kitchen keeps coming up with new and exciting dishes. My dining partner was wowed with the kale, apple and shaved parmesan salad with buttermilk dressing while I enjoyed the scrumptious fried broccoli, lemon and squash, drizzled with a delicious, warm cheese fondue. For our entrées, we chose the halibut and great standby burger and fries. Both were outstanding. Speaking of outstanding, our server Adam (who has been with Bocado since Day 2) sure knows his menu and can handle a roomful of diners beautifully, with perfect ease.

I felt like I had to scream across the table because it was so loud. Our server was less than attentive. She barely came over to the table. The food was mediocre. I thought the burger was suppose to be this raging great burger everyone loves. It was tasty, but not as good as H. Harper off Memorial. The burger to bun ratio was way off, with the burger feeling swallowed by the bun. And the meat had no real flavor. The cocktails were fantastic, but again what I got for the price wasn't worth it. In fact comparing the meal to other restaurants it was way over priced and way over hyped. Overall, it was just ok.

We spent a very good evening at Bocado. Our reservation was ready on time, very good service, not pushy but attentive and professional. Cocktails were excellent and so was the food. We started with the deviled egg with tomato jam, I had the steak tartare and it was perfect. Great meat flavor not hidden by a lot of spices but very tasty. My husband had the halibut and it was flaky and delicious. Our friends had the tagliatelle and the lobster roll and only heard good things about it. Will definitely come back.
