Diner Reviews
  • "One of the few places we have been lately where everything was well done from drinks thought to dessert, and with good service on top. The decor is sort of a minimalist trendy which means lots of hard surfaces (but not uncomfortable) that reflect sound. Not a problem if the place is half full, but at 3/4 or more full the noise makes it hard to hear people even across the table. This however is more than made up by the food, and is not a reason to go, in fact we are looking forward to our next visit but plan to sit outside if possible or not go when it's raining."

  • "Rarely do I get one of the fancy cocktails, but I did this time. The one with Famousw Grouse & Laphroig (sic) was weird and delicious all at once. Held back from a 2nd because we got wine. The Crudo special was deelish. The burger so-so. Desert was the pot-de-chocolate and the bread pudding. Chocolate was outstanding. Skip the other, it's lackluster. We were stuffed! "

  • "Bocado never dissapoints. The service is always great, the food is exceptional for the price, and the bar is staffed with creative folks who can invent some amazing drinks. Also, you can come casual or come dressed up; it's a restaurant for any occassion."

  • "Group of 10 we had a great time. Wonderful service. Eccentric menu. Will be back soon!!!"

  • "The pork chop added to the menu this week is phenomenal!"

  • "Every meal we've ever had at Bocado has been outstanding!"

  • "The famed Bocado burger exceeded my wildest dreams. I'd even say it surpassed the tastiness of the H&F burger that I had to wait two hours for. Oh, and the cocktails were absolutely sensational."

  • "Everything from the service, to the food and drinks and ambiance was great. We tried their king crimson and paper tiger- excellent drinks. The chef dished out a special veggie entree for me. Hubby got the burger stack and loved it! Will definitely go back."

  • "The food was all wonderful -- from the quinoa salad to the prosciutto-wrapped trout, you could taste the freshness and quality in the ingredients of each meal. Really extraordinary. The food wasn't out-of-this-world creative, but definitely a little off the standard track, so it's a good place to take someone who might be a "foodie," but not quite as adventurous as others. Great pick, would definitely go again. Also, the Pinot Gris on their wine list is a perfectly refreshing summer evening wine!"

  • "I seldom eat beef but a couple of times a year, I have to have a really good burger. Bocado is the place to get that craving satisfied. Get the herb fries too - wonderful. Also, amazing cocktails."

  • "One of the best restaurants in Atlanta. I haven't eaten a hamburger in years and they have THE best burger I have ever eaten. Truly fantastic! Food outstanding, fresh, organic, sensational."
    Dined on 3/29/2014
  • "Boccado may not be the largest or most visible dining spot in a crowded area of great restaurants! But, it won't disappoint! This place offers unique small plates to nosh on while getting settled-in with you choice of unique wines. Then, it's on to the larger plates or entrees, which are reasonable in price and equally unique! This place does farm-to-table better than those who crow about it!"

  • "The fried brocolli was amazing. We had a 7:45 reserv. Our server was fine but she took a while to come around and get our dinner orders. 2 of the 4 of us wanted the trout and they were sold out! With such a small entree list (5 entrees) you really can't run out of one at 8 o'clock. That's ridiculous. So for that, I may not go back unless on early side for apps and drinks."

  • "Great food!! Interesting combination of ingredients and they worked beautifully together. We ordered lots of dishes thinking we would take some home and of course finished every drop and splurged for dessert. Yummy!!"

  • "Really enjoy BOCADO's menu and the service is always quite nice. It's in a great Atlanta neighborhood, too. The space and decor is nothing but industrial hard surfaces and high ceilings, which means the noise level is deafening to the point of discomfort if you are there at peak hours."

  • "The cheese burger blasts you back to childhood cookouts"
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Five people, 7 small plates. Plenty to eat and lots of interesting tastes. There were several large groups at Bocado when we arrived and they were loud. I suspect that otherwise the noise level would have been more moderate."

  • "$12 bucks for the best burger in town, with fries and a beer? What a steal. The trout dish was more than ample quantity-wise. This is something hard to come by from time to time. You often order and get the smallest portions. We were very happy with our experience."
    Dined on 3/25/2014
  • "Bocado is known for their hamburgers but since I am not eating meat I had their flounder which was tasty but not a destination dish"
    Dined on 3/24/2014
  • "It was our first time at Bocado and loved it, we can't wait to go back. Food was excellent and so was the service, a little loud but that is ok."
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "The helpful staff at Bocado was able to make accommodations for my large party not once, but twice. The atmosphere of the restaurant was great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend Bocado"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "I have now been to Bocado 5 times: 3 for lunch and 2 for dinner. The food NEVER disappoints! I recommend all of the small plates :) My only disappointment with Bocado is the service. While it is always very courteous and pleasant, it is slow. I acknowledge that fresh and innovative food takes a bit longer to prepare than the more standard fare, but the service is slow in other respects. If one has to wait awhile for the food, then bar service/orders need to be prompt so that you have something to drink while you wait for the food! The Manager, Ari, is fabulous and very receptive to trying to improve on this shortcoming."

  • "Sorry Holeman sorry Grindhouse sorry Farm Burger but the best burger in the ATL is downtown! Three cuts of meat: short rib, brisket, and grass fed sirloin is an unbeatable combo. And the garlic fries are off the chain my friends. The Kale salad would make you go vegetarian if it weren't for that damn double stack. My vegetarian friend raved about the black rice salad and root veggie soup. I've had the quinoa salad before and it was unbelievable! Great drinks too!"

  • "Enjoyed our dinner with friends. Service was fine. Menu was somewhat limited, as I was looking for more choices for full entres. Restaurant became very noisy - difficult to carry on conversation without raising our voices. Place could use some sound dampening to help the hard surface echoes. Full by the time we finished our early dinner. Service was good ... Would have preferred a more traditional Mojito drink."

  • "We arrived right on time for our reservation and were seated immediately. The dining area is a bit tight and a little loud due to a large group of diners. The ambience was nice, and our server was very attentive which made this a great dining experience."

  • "There's a chocolate pot de creme dessert that will change your life-- it's like a cold, less liquid but not quite the consistency of a cooked brownie, and it's stellar. The Brussels sprouts and farro will make you want seconds, the quinoa with cucumber is unique and tasty, and the fried broccoli with goat cheese is unlike anything else and is still delicious when you eat it as leftovers the next day. Our waitress was helpful, arrived when needed but wasn't bothersome, very accommodating, an overall lovely little find of a restaurant!"

  • "We have been to Bocado and definitely recommend it. In fact, the latest trip, we brought newcomers to Atlanta with us. The small plates are a nice addition to the menu and allow you to taste several different things rather than just one. We enjoy that. The wine prices are very good and we enjoyed a lovely 2007 bottle of Tempranillo for just $33. What a deal!"

  • "I ran in for a quick bite and was pleased with the presentation and meal. I ordered a cheeseburger with a little side salad. It was all quite delicious and the price was right. There are lots of items on the menu I'd love to try the next time when I'm not so rushed."

  • "I am some what of a regular at this restaurant so I was VERY disappointed in our experience there this past Saturday night. Basically, we had to wait over an hour for our table (even with a reservation) and the burger wasn't as great as it usually was. Wondering if the quality of food has gone down since the last chef left. We won't be back any time soon."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "We were seated promptly. The burger was fantastic! Meeting with a friend and they loved it too. I will return to Bocado. The friend will return too."

  • "My wife and I have friends who live about a block away from Bocado, so we make a reservation for dinner whenever we visit. After a few visits, we've settled into a dinner routine. I order the cheeseburger ($12), one of the best I've had anywhere with homemade pickles and fries (Pay the extra buck for seasoned). The local and craft beer list is above average, so I usually try a new beer with the burger. My wife orders a pan grilled chicken dish with grits and collard greens. The dish is spicy, but not overly so, and flavorful. She normally avoids chicken on a menu because it's too bland, so the fact this dish is in her heavy rotation speaks volumes. It's not the best place for a romantic evening due to the noise level, but it's a local gem"

  • "My Husband and I had heard the burger was "the best" in Atlanta and it's a shame it took us so long to make our way to BOCADO. The burger was truly delicious as were the deviled eggs and cheese plate we started our dinner off with. BOCADO will become one of our regular dining spots."

  • "A good friend told me that this place has "the best" burgers, so I went with her just to try their burger. The taste of the burger was delicious, but I was surprised when I bit into the burger several times and got gristle that I had to remove from my mouth. One piece of gristle (I'm using this word generically) was fairly big (the size of a small pebble). I would expect that a trendy Midtown restaurant would use the best beef they could get. The wine list is extensive, and the service is excellent. Loved the herb fries that come with the burger."

  • "Great food and even better prices. Don't miss this one!"

  • "The food here is always impeccable. I typically eat at the bar so I can't comment on the waitstaff but the hostess is as kind and as accommodating as it gets and the bartenders are both talented and personable. Definitely one of my favorite dinner spots. And, no matter what anyone says, Bocado has THEE best burger in town. Hands down."

  • "The food was great but service was very slow (though nice enough otherwise) and the valet parking was a mess. Still - the food is good enough that I might return."

  • "We love Bocado; they never disappoint. Their burger is very popular, but my favorite lately is the duck ragu. Great cocktails as well."
    Dined on 2/15/2014
  • "They got a lazy between chefs and opening a new restaurant. But our meal the other night was as good as ever. The kitchen was spot on as well as the service. We were in the back room and it is a more pleasant, quieter place to dine. The front room can be a roar. First we had to decide that we were not going to succumb to the burger again. Maybe next time. It's always hard to resist. You forget what a touch the chef has with a few wonderful ingredients. Our server was outstanding. Shaved head. If you see him ask for him. There and not there. Silverware appearing in anticipation of each course right on time. Water glasses always topped off. The service is always good but he brought a greater degree of professionalism to the job."

    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "Food was great, Atmosphere was great. Thumbs up overall. Only negative was that since it was VDAY, they had a limited menu and ran out of almost all the entree's, except for 2, by 9pm. So since we had a 9pm reservation, we only had 2 out of the 5 or 6 entrees available for us....the food was good however. Would definitely try it again, and look forward to trying some of the options that were our first choice."
