Diner Reviews
  • "This restaurant is the bomb. Great for dates, family gatherings, or just want to grab something delicious and have a drink by yourself. The cheese and wine selection is on point. The bone marrow appetizer is something you can't find anywhere else in town."

  • "Limited menu. Eclectic. What we had was very good. A bit pricey."

  • "The food is the feature here - great small plate choices and the burger is as good as everyone has said - best in Atlanta. Perfect for a great meal at a fair price. Overall great experience."

  • "This is a great place that my neighbor recently introduced to our Saturday dinner group and I fell in love. The cocktails are great, the wine list is great, wine by the glass is great and the FOOD... YUM! From the peach & blackberry salad to the smoked trout dip to the deviled eggs, it is all great and then I tried the burger. Wow! The burger is a delicious creation of two thin patties cooked well until they a slightly crispy on the edges with cheese and pickles on an H&F bun."

  • "I love Bocado. My wife and I have been here many times, especially when we need to satisfy a burger craving. The food is always excellent and, in general, the service is usually up to snuff as well. On our last visit, however, our waitress was simply overwhelmed. She didn't get us our drink orders correctly, didn't bring one of our appetizers, and was sort of flippant about her poor performance. Thankfully, the manager apologized and comped us our appetizers (of which there were many) and satisfactorily rectified the situation. This experience aside, I could not recommend Bocado more highly. I will definitely be back!"

  • "must have been a new server. we ate dinner Friday night August 8, and we had a terrible service experience. We were seated promptly at a bad table and ordered our drinks and our meal. The appetizer arrived and 10 minutes later the drinks arrived we did not get any service for another hour and SAT there with empty glasses turned upside down on the table and no one even noticed. I would definitely give this restaurant another try as this is the first time that we have had terrible service hopefully that person will be better trained or replaced soon."

  • "I had the duck confit, which is a new menu item, and it was absolutely amazing. I also highly recommend the watermelon salad as it has such a unique flavor and combination of items involved. It can be a little noisy at times, but the overall restaurant has a phenomenal setup, and the bar is perfect for a late night snack."

  • "We had an 8:00 reservation. Didn't get seated til close to 9:00. Didn't get food til close to 10:30. Manager said the kitchen was overwhelmed. I can certainly understand how that can happen, but it might have been nice if the manager had offered a response. Three of the four meals at our table were very average."

  • "You can't be picky to eat here. The menu is quite small, but every option is delicious. I ordered the prosciutto wrapped trout and my date ordered the burger. We also started the night with a glass of wine each and the duck appetizer along with deviled eggs. Everything was absolutely wonderful, but there was only 1 option for most meat dishes i.e. One chicken dish, one beef, one duck, and two fish options. Very knowledgable server and quick service, but it was a little cramped and loud. I'd go back though"

  • "Food was very good and interesting - Unfortunately, service was not good at all. Ordered wine and a beer after waiting forever for someone to initially come to the table. Our appetizers/salads came before drinks. We had finished our appetizers before drinks arrived. I ordered a second glass of wine for dinner, but it never came. After I was through eating, the waitress came and gave me a story about the computer system being messed up. I had watched them pour my wine - it sat at the bar through my whole meal. Anyway, food is worth the trip, but don't expect great service. Other reviews seem to echo that."

  • "My husband started out with 1/2 dozen of the Chunu oysters, the perfect small size and delicious. But the big treat was when his entree came of the seared grouper with the butter bean, tomato, corn salad ... His meal was delectable and he was pleased with every morsel. I tried the kale salad which seems to be all the rave everywhere but I guess I might prefer it cooked rather than raw, but at least I tried it! My entree of roasted chicken was delicious and enough for me to bring some home for lunch the next day. We enjoyed our Saturday night impromptu dinner and this was the perfect place."

  • "This is our second time dining at Bocado and I was really looking forward to the lobster roll. They have changed the recipe and I didn't enjoy it. I prefer a lobster roll with mayonnaise although I know some recipes just use melted butter. The burger stack was amazing as usual. The bartender made our group a cocktail based on ingredients we suggested and it was wonderful. The service was very good."

  • "My boyfriend and I wanted a cute night-out and we got exactly that. It was our first time at Bocado. The servers (twins) were the sweetest. They even suggested some good food (it was slightly bland but overall it was okay). We would definitely go back! What we absolutely loved about the restaurant was the interior and the atmosphere it maintained- very elegant."

  • "we have eaten here several times and of food is always good. This is the third time I have had the burger and it was delicious as always. I can recommend this restaurant as a place to go no matter whether it is lunch or dinner"

  • "It was so delicious. Fresh, unique and very tasty."

  • "We arrived at 7:30 last Saturday, and it was already so loud we could barely hear ourselves think. When the noise became unbearable, we asked to move out to the patio, and the staff said yes. Out there, we could actually hear, and we enjoyed the rest of our evening. As for the food, I raved about Bocado's delicious burger, and all four of us ordered it. Unfortunately, it was not nearly as tender and flavorful as the first time I'd had it. My non-alcoholic cocktail (lime and ginger beer) was really delicious, though."

  • "Second time and not going to hurry back. Everything was totally uninspired, from the service to the food. No dining room supervision (management) which might explain the service part. It wasn't that busy so service should have been better. Two of three scotches out of stock and valet bumped my new car into something (parking is a mess there). Too many other (better) options, especially on the Westside."

  • "I found the service to be less then usual. It was not typical to my experience. The waitress took a plate before we were done. Took an appretizers that was not finished without asking us if we were done. I loved the food but that took away from the experience."

  • "We had late, 9:45 reservation and were treated well by our server. Our meal has been overshadowed by a followup tweet we received from someone at the restaurant saying we overstayed our welcome and also didn't tip well. We left 22% on our table-total (over $200) and stayed an hour and a half, which to me is fair on both cases. I would not go back here because of this. And that's a shame because the food was excellent and we didn't receive any indication from the staff that we should leave earlier... the table before us left only about 10 minutes prior to us. Very disappointed"

  • "Great drinks, great service, and amazing dinner options. The burger is a must-try, but the pasta dish on the dinner menu is probably the best I've had in Atlanta."

  • "We enjoyed the food and the experience altogether. We opted to sit outside because it was a bit loud indoors, and it was a nice day. Covered patio with fans helped cool things off. Burgers were great, and trout dish was really good. Enjoyed the cocktails! Service was outstanding - very attentive and timely."

  • "The restaurant did not have 2 of the only 5 main course dinner items before 8:30pm. How does that work? Sketch. They were both the fish plates so if you weren't interested in eating fried chicken or beef, you were out of luck. The waitress also informed us that we could only get our burger well done. Why? And then there was grissell in it. YUM Overrated - would not go back."
    Dined on 6/27/2014
  • "We got to sit outside, which we have never done. It was a great unhurried dinner with family. Excellent sharing plates. My daughter tried one of the mocktails (strawberry juice) which was great. I felt compelled to try the ginger beer mocktail...fabulous! We settled on the burgers which were great as always. Just a nice enjoyable evening in a great setting with very good service"

  • "I feel that the mgt here is not up to the task. The number of servers is inadequate or they are poorly deployed during busy periods. Our server was very absent - come to find out she also had a huge table inside on the far side of the restaurant. Food was good but salty."

  • "Bocado changes its innovative appetizer menu periodically and each time we go, we are amazed that this creative kitchen keeps coming up with new and exciting dishes. My dining partner was wowed with the kale, apple and shaved parmesan salad with buttermilk dressing while I enjoyed the scrumptious fried broccoli, lemon and squash, drizzled with a delicious, warm cheese fondue. For our entrées, we chose the halibut and great standby burger and fries. Both were outstanding. Speaking of outstanding, our server Adam (who has been with Bocado since Day 2) sure knows his menu and can handle a roomful of diners beautifully, with perfect ease."

  • "I felt like I had to scream across the table because it was so loud. Our server was less than attentive. She barely came over to the table. The food was mediocre. I thought the burger was suppose to be this raging great burger everyone loves. It was tasty, but not as good as H. Harper off Memorial. The burger to bun ratio was way off, with the burger feeling swallowed by the bun. And the meat had no real flavor. The cocktails were fantastic, but again what I got for the price wasn't worth it. In fact comparing the meal to other restaurants it was way over priced and way over hyped. Overall, it was just ok."

  • "Always delicious...from the trout tip and beef tartar appetizers to the best burger in town. A great, cool, easy place to go with friends. Friendly, hipster staff, great cocktails. I love Bocado."

  • "We spent a very good evening at Bocado. Our reservation was ready on time, very good service, not pushy but attentive and professional. Cocktails were excellent and so was the food. We started with the deviled egg with tomato jam, I had the steak tartare and it was perfect. Great meat flavor not hidden by a lot of spices but very tasty. My husband had the halibut and it was flaky and delicious. Our friends had the tagliatelle and the lobster roll and only heard good things about it. Will definitely come back."

  • "I visited Bocado because Executive Chef Adam Waller uses the organic produce and pasture-raised meats that the farmers from Peachtree Road Farmers Market sell. I've worked there for about a year and a half and our farmers consistently put Adam Waller's Bocado on their recommended restaurant list. His menu did not disappoint with local, seasonal ingredients and a bright, bold flavors. Highly recommended for folks trying to eat ethically."

  • "Have eaten at Bocado several times with my husband, mostly for lunch and it has always been great. This was our second dinner dining experience and both of us were very disappointed with the food. The hanger steak was chewy and lacked flavor. The fried chicken breast was dry and the collared greens were too vinegary. The noise level was deafening. Could not hear person sitting right next to you. Will stick to lunch at Bocado. More civilized and quieter."

  • "Ate outside on a warm Atlanta night in early June 2014. The food choices were excellent. The flavor combinations of the various items was fantastic. The quality of service was great. Bocado is a real gem, one that I highly recommend."

  • "Was difficult to figure out where to enter with my car but the Valet was polite and helpful. The food was good and the restaurant became completely full. We sat on the porch which was good because the noise level inside was a liitle too much for me to have comfortable conversation and the air conditioning was very cold to me. Otherwise the staff was great as was the food. And the specialty drink menu was particlarly yummy. I think it's a good place to grab a cocktail and small plate. "

  • "Always enjoy the fresh cocktails. The quinoa with cucumbers and radishes was delish. Days later I am still thinking about it. The fried broccoli was way to rich for me. "

  • "We always love the food and the outdoor area is great, especially in the spring and fall. We had a delicious halibut dish with fresh peas & butter beans and wonderful celery salad. The drinks are always inventive and delicious. And it's right around the corner!"

  • "I think I was the only one at the table that did not order the burger, which seems to have a great reputation. In tasting my wife's, I agree it was very good. I had a chicken dish and it was good, just nothing special. Service was very attentive and my favorite thing about the restaurant was a very inventive cocktail list. Overall the price was right in line with the food and service we got, so I consider that a success."
