Diner Reviews
  • "I found the service to be less then usual. It was not typical to my experience. The waitress took a plate before we were done. Took an appretizers that was not finished without asking us if we were done. I loved the food but that took away from the experience."

  • "We had late, 9:45 reservation and were treated well by our server. Our meal has been overshadowed by a followup tweet we received from someone at the restaurant saying we overstayed our welcome and also didn't tip well. We left 22% on our table-total (over $200) and stayed an hour and a half, which to me is fair on both cases. I would not go back here because of this. And that's a shame because the food was excellent and we didn't receive any indication from the staff that we should leave earlier... the table before us left only about 10 minutes prior to us. Very disappointed"

  • "Great drinks, great service, and amazing dinner options. The burger is a must-try, but the pasta dish on the dinner menu is probably the best I've had in Atlanta."

  • "We enjoyed the food and the experience altogether. We opted to sit outside because it was a bit loud indoors, and it was a nice day. Covered patio with fans helped cool things off. Burgers were great, and trout dish was really good. Enjoyed the cocktails! Service was outstanding - very attentive and timely."

  • "The restaurant did not have 2 of the only 5 main course dinner items before 8:30pm. How does that work? Sketch. They were both the fish plates so if you weren't interested in eating fried chicken or beef, you were out of luck. The waitress also informed us that we could only get our burger well done. Why? And then there was grissell in it. YUM Overrated - would not go back."

  • "We got to sit outside, which we have never done. It was a great unhurried dinner with family. Excellent sharing plates. My daughter tried one of the mocktails (strawberry juice) which was great. I felt compelled to try the ginger beer mocktail...fabulous! We settled on the burgers which were great as always. Just a nice enjoyable evening in a great setting with very good service"

  • "I feel that the mgt here is not up to the task. The number of servers is inadequate or they are poorly deployed during busy periods. Our server was very absent - come to find out she also had a huge table inside on the far side of the restaurant. Food was good but salty."

  • "Bocado changes its innovative appetizer menu periodically and each time we go, we are amazed that this creative kitchen keeps coming up with new and exciting dishes. My dining partner was wowed with the kale, apple and shaved parmesan salad with buttermilk dressing while I enjoyed the scrumptious fried broccoli, lemon and squash, drizzled with a delicious, warm cheese fondue. For our entrées, we chose the halibut and great standby burger and fries. Both were outstanding. Speaking of outstanding, our server Adam (who has been with Bocado since Day 2) sure knows his menu and can handle a roomful of diners beautifully, with perfect ease."

  • "I felt like I had to scream across the table because it was so loud. Our server was less than attentive. She barely came over to the table. The food was mediocre. I thought the burger was suppose to be this raging great burger everyone loves. It was tasty, but not as good as H. Harper off Memorial. The burger to bun ratio was way off, with the burger feeling swallowed by the bun. And the meat had no real flavor. The cocktails were fantastic, but again what I got for the price wasn't worth it. In fact comparing the meal to other restaurants it was way over priced and way over hyped. Overall, it was just ok."

  • "Always delicious...from the trout tip and beef tartar appetizers to the best burger in town. A great, cool, easy place to go with friends. Friendly, hipster staff, great cocktails. I love Bocado."

  • "We spent a very good evening at Bocado. Our reservation was ready on time, very good service, not pushy but attentive and professional. Cocktails were excellent and so was the food. We started with the deviled egg with tomato jam, I had the steak tartare and it was perfect. Great meat flavor not hidden by a lot of spices but very tasty. My husband had the halibut and it was flaky and delicious. Our friends had the tagliatelle and the lobster roll and only heard good things about it. Will definitely come back."

  • "I visited Bocado because Executive Chef Adam Waller uses the organic produce and pasture-raised meats that the farmers from Peachtree Road Farmers Market sell. I've worked there for about a year and a half and our farmers consistently put Adam Waller's Bocado on their recommended restaurant list. His menu did not disappoint with local, seasonal ingredients and a bright, bold flavors. Highly recommended for folks trying to eat ethically."

  • "Have eaten at Bocado several times with my husband, mostly for lunch and it has always been great. This was our second dinner dining experience and both of us were very disappointed with the food. The hanger steak was chewy and lacked flavor. The fried chicken breast was dry and the collared greens were too vinegary. The noise level was deafening. Could not hear person sitting right next to you. Will stick to lunch at Bocado. More civilized and quieter."

  • "Ate outside on a warm Atlanta night in early June 2014. The food choices were excellent. The flavor combinations of the various items was fantastic. The quality of service was great. Bocado is a real gem, one that I highly recommend."

  • "We had a wonderful time at Bocado! The food was great and the service was excellent. Be sure to book weekends in advance as it fills up quickly."

  • "Was difficult to figure out where to enter with my car but the Valet was polite and helpful. The food was good and the restaurant became completely full. We sat on the porch which was good because the noise level inside was a liitle too much for me to have comfortable conversation and the air conditioning was very cold to me. Otherwise the staff was great as was the food. And the specialty drink menu was particlarly yummy. I think it's a good place to grab a cocktail and small plate. "

  • "The food was very good. Everyone loved the small plates selection. They were creative and flavorful. There is a number of nice vegetarian options among the small plates. My group enjoyed the wine and on another occasion, the cocktails. "

  • "Always enjoy the fresh cocktails. The quinoa with cucumbers and radishes was delish. Days later I am still thinking about it. The fried broccoli was way to rich for me. "

  • "We always love the food and the outdoor area is great, especially in the spring and fall. We had a delicious halibut dish with fresh peas & butter beans and wonderful celery salad. The drinks are always inventive and delicious. And it's right around the corner!"

  • "Bocado did not deliver the elegant, food-centric experience my friend and I expected. We like to sample high-end burgers and explore wine lists, and Bocado disappointed on both. Our food took forever to arrive at the table. We did not receive the side items we requested, and the burgers arrived with mayonnaise, which neither of us can eat and had requested it be removed when we ordered. Small irritations that we typically overlook, but combined with a noise level that prevented us from chatting, and a server who could not be bothered to pour our bottle of wine, place our orders correctly, and even care about her performance, we both decided we won't return. Bocado will need to get on its game...The Optimist is right down the street..."

  • "I think I was the only one at the table that did not order the burger, which seems to have a great reputation. In tasting my wife's, I agree it was very good. I had a chicken dish and it was good, just nothing special. Service was very attentive and my favorite thing about the restaurant was a very inventive cocktail list. Overall the price was right in line with the food and service we got, so I consider that a success."

  • "Place was 1/3 full so relatively quiet. Outdoor still the best if you want to talk at all. Wine list grossly overpriced so go for a beer or cocktail. food very good - the beet and Radish salad with cumin vinaigrette was superb. Stack burger good and the yogurt (?) garlic dipping sauce very tasty. Service was friendly but slow on a quiet night. Food arrived fast but server seemed to have lots of tables. Would try again. Valet parking is a must."

  • "Favorites on this occasion: Trout on fennel puree, fries with garlic, almond bread pudding, steak tartare, chocolate dessert. The restaurant accomodated our gluten free needs as we had a celiac guest. "

  • "We have been to Bocado many times and they never disappoint. The burger is one of the best that I have EVER had (and maybe one of these days I will order something else off of the menu). Their unique cocktails are also fun to try. All in all, a great place for a casual dinner with friends or that special somebody <3"

  • "I can't quite grasp the appeal of this place, but it is very popular, and VERY noisy. My friend and I had two of the more expensive small plates and the lobster roll. Food was OK, but, with three glasses of wine between us, the bill including tip was over $100. Strongly suggest that you order the burger and have iced tea or beer. The wine list is very limited and the only chardonnay was $13/glass. Most people we observed were enjoying the burger or other sandwich. PS: Street parking is limited and not recommended, so you will be stuck with a valet tip as well. Bring money."

  • "Average at best - to me just not worth the price. A bit heavy handy with the dressing/sauces"
    Dined on 4/24/2014
  • "They may not be known for their burger, but it is one of the best, if not THE best, burger I've had in Atlanta! The rest of the menu is delicious as well, but the burger really made an impact. "

  • "I enjoyed dinner here recently. It is an industrial modern building in West Midtown, with free valet parking. It is basically upscale/bistro-type American food. We had the deviled eggs for an appetizer, then the hanger steak with homemade chimichurri sauce (which had a nice pop of citrus), and the halibut with spring peas. Both entrees were different, but good and satisfying. I wouldn't hesitate to eat here again if I were in the area and needed a nice, but not uber expensive restaurant. I will say that due to the hard surfaces, it can get noisy inside, but I sat on the covered patio in the rear of the building, which was very comfortable."

  • "The food was excellent and the wait staff friendly and attentive. It's very loud and difficult to have a conversation. I could barely hear my dinner guest or speak w/o yelling."

  • "I've never not enjoyed myself here. Our group had a great time as always. Delicious little apps, duck pappardelle, or that burger of theirs-- all good. Casual space and comp valet. "

  • "The menu choices reportedly change daily, according to the waiter. The selections were few and not very appealing. I tried the oysters which were recommended. The first one was unusually fishy. The second one was just so bad that I could barely keep it down. I did not touch the rest. Then came the flounder which had been described as a light grilled fish dish. Instead, it was an overcooked pan-fried dish. I took one bite and just couldn't bring myself to eat any more. I paid for it and then left to have dinner at a decent restaurant. The wine selection are equally few and uninspired. I will not be back. The chef should go down the street to The Optimist to see how seafood should be prepared."
