Diner Reviews
  • "Food and service were great! The view is ridiculously nice, and there are ton of tables that have a view. We went in the summer, I can only imagine how nice it would have been in the fall."

  • "We had a wonderful dinner at Table. Our server was friendly and warm and gave us lost of helpful info on the menu. I enjoyed the shrimp and grits. The best I've had anywhere. We both had the kale salad as recommended by our waiter and it was wonderful. The view is SPECTACULAR! We watched the sun set right from our outdoor table. For dessert we had a rich chocolate torte that was amazing. I highly recommend Table for the service, food and atmosphere. A perfect experience!"

  • "The ambience rating is for the spectacular sunset view other than that it was a disappointment for our party of five. We were seated after 7 PM and our dinner did not until arrive after the closing time of 9 PM. In between was a comedy of errors beginning with our cocktails in which I did not receive mine until 30 minutes after the initial order. The average wait time was 30 minutes between courses and cocktail orders which could be forgiven if the restaurant was busy. I counted two dinner parties inside during our "stay" and the outside dining area was never filled to capacity. The couple next to us also commented on the poor service and they ended up bussing their own table while waiting for dessert. They did comp the cocktails."

  • "My husband and I spent 2 nights at Crestwood for his birthday. The food, drinks and staff were absolutely phenomenal. The first night we sat out on the patio enjoying the beautiful view while we dined. Our second night (due to weather) we dined inside enjoying the Thursday night live music. We would absolutely recommend The Table and will be back asap!"

  • "Good tasty food. The portions could have been bigger considering the amount of money spent to eat, but maybe we just didn't get the right things. The burgers/sandwiches on the table next to us looked like big hearty portions, but our crab cake and trout dinner were very small. Also not sure why we weren't brought out a bread basket upon our arrival. When we asked for one it was brought out. "

  • "Wonderful location and views, great food presented beautifully, a must go!"

  • "It's a lovely spot with a great view. If the food were better we'd go there often. I had the trout, one-half of a small trout for $24. Description of the preparation sounded interesting but all I could taste was lots of salt and pepper. Menu choices were also limited. I really wish they'd improve their menu. "

  • "The waiter referred to a filet as sirloin several times, poured wine to taste then failed to finish pouring the glass, set the bread basket on the bread plate....service was in over his head. The filet was better than expected. Overall, due to the location and view, this could be a fabulous destination restaurant but needs alot of attention to detail, more experienced waiters and an updated menu."

  • "Had a wonderful meal watching the sunset over the Appalachian mountains. Highly recommended!"

  • "Waitress was great and food was delicious; however, my first two choices on the menu were not available....and since I am not a big meat eater, there was only one other option available. And the soup of the day was also not available, my third request. Dessert took forever and wasn't even heated up to lukewarm. "

  • "Took my girlfriend out for a romantic dinner. It could not have been more perfect. We were seated in a quiet room with a perfect view of the mountains. The food was spectacular, from the crab cake appetizer to our entrees to the wonderful chocolate tort dessert which we enjoyed while watching the sun go down on the mountains. What a wonderful dining experience. I would highly recommend your restaurant to others and cannot wait to come back the next time we are in the mountains!"

  • "Mem day reservation and confirmed 1 hour in advance. Problem#1: Those w/o reservations are treated better than those with reservations? Old couple withOUT reserv stumbled in with sippee cups full of purple "juice", made a scene, cowered staff, got the window seat. We were seated with them between us and the "view". Prob#2: No water, bread, menus for 20 min. Prob#3: Wines list was 25% out, entrees were out, vegetables were not known. Prob#4: There was no one supervising the confused flustered wait staff. Staff was scattered over the patio and dining room-separated by some distance. Staff problem #5: waiter disappeared for very long periods of time though not crowded at all, see #4. Staff problem #6: Not engaging, welcoming or interested. "

  • "Limited selection of food (crispy skin trout, shrimp & grits and a filet for $40, etc.); more appetizers than entrees. "

  • "Brunch at The Table at Crestwood was a perfect way to celebrate our son's graduation from App State and Mother's Day. The Lord provided the beautiful weather and scenery, and the restaurant provided a quiet table, friendly staff, good food and quite a view! "

  • "My family went to The Table to celebrate my son's graduation from college and Mother's Day. I had asked what the menu was going to be when I made the reservations, and was told at that time it would be a brunch with breakfast items as well as chicken and waffles and pastries. It was quite the disappointment! There was no chicken, waffles, or pastries! Nothing sweet like a dessert, except for fruit which consisted of watermelon and grapes only. The scrambled eggs were awful...definitely made from a powder. Luckily it was not as expensive as I was expecting!"

  • "We travel to Boone quite often and we find ourselves going to the same restaurants. On this visit, I wanted to try something new. It was a beautiful day, so I really wanted a place with a view. The Table at Crestwood certainly has a view!! An absolute beautiful setting. We enjoyed cocktails on the patio and had dinner inside. We ordered two appetizers....the cheese tray and the chicken and waffles. Both were very good....yet the chicken and waffles was our favorite. A must try. The guys both had the Bison burger and loved it. I had the chicken pasta dish that was very good, too. The wine menu is extensive. The service was very attentive, yet not "in your face"! I would highly recommend The Table. "

  • "We have been here twice now. The beer pricing and selection are excellent. We both had the Green Man ESB and would highly recommend it. The food was excellent as well. The appetizers were a little overpriced ($9 for grilled romaine and $10 for one crabcake) but tasted great. Dinner was a bison burger and the stuffed pork chop. Both were excellent choices and priced fairly. Both times we have eaten here the service has been great with friendly and knowledgeable staff . We will definitely come back again the next time we are in Blowing Rock."

  • "Everything about our dining experience was wonderful! My husband had the pork medallions and I stole a couple of bites myself and we both agreed that they were amazing! I had the chicken provencal which was also good, but definitely not as good as the pork. I think that the restaurant should definitely advertise their dessert menu because our dessert was amazing! We got the apple pie and both agreed that it was probably one of the best apple pies we had ever had. It was very hard to share because we both wanted more. The food is a little pricey, but the servings are quite large. The view of the mountains is gorgeous. I would recommend booking your reservation for around sunset time. Our waitress was also very helpful and sweet. "

  • "I reserved a table at Crest Wood to celebrate valentines day with my wife. We were pleased with quick seating, good menu items and a beautiful setting. That however is where the expierence took a turn. We ordered a cocktail before the entree and at the end of the evening it had yet to arrive. We were hoping to salvage with a Delicous desert but much like our bread the menu never came. The feeling at the end of the night was Crestwood expanded there seating and charged a healthy fee to turn a profit on a popular holiday. Few more staff members would've made all the difference."

  • "The Table has a beautiful sunset view and a quaint feel to it. A wonderful place to meet up with friends or have a special romnatic dinner. The staff was attentive and the food was good. On a scale of 1-10, I would rate the dinner a 7. We enjoyed the Trout and Filet Mignon, both seasoned to perfection. At the bar we had a wonderful drink made with Tennessee moonshine, Apple Cider and cinnamon."

  • "My husband and I enjoyed our evening thoroughly! Not only was the Ahi Tuna chef special wonderful, but the drink selections were amazing! The staff was extremely pleasant (the restaurant manager, in particular), and the bartender was on top of his game! We will definitely be back!!"

  • "The food was delicious and they offered unique courses. The best part was when we arrived, even though we had a reservation, they weren't quite ready. Instead of simply being told to wait, we were invited to the bar and received complimentary drinks."

  • "Beautiful spot in the Blue Ridge. Glorious mountain views from soaring windows in the dining room. Good menu/wine list. Meals are generously proportioned and well-prepared. Four of us shared the appetizer cheese plate and added salads for a filling dinner. The staff, from the restaurant manager to the server, bartender and even the kitchen staff were friendly, attentive and helpful in all respects. I don't think you can do better in the area."

  • "Husband and I ate here for new years eve. We were greeted graciously by an energetic smiling hostess and we were optimistic about what was to come. Before we had removed our coats or found a seat, the bartender asked us bluntly "what are you drinking?". After placing a drink order, we were served our cocktails one at a time though he did serve me first (as in ladies first) . Once in the dining room, the atmosphere was intimate. Food was mediocre, and beverage service was virtually non existent. We had to get a manager to get our first drink even though we were done with our appetizers and salads. Been here, not going back."

  • "A prix fixe menu with five courses. All were excellent. Well done. I was concerned when it was pretty vacant, but it was early. I reserved via OpenTable, so I was not aware of the prix fixe menu, was pleasantly surprised with the wonderful 1st course, then the cheeses were excellent, setting the stage for a great salad. We have already recommended it to our neighbors in the Sweetgrass Community (about 15m away)."

  • "My fiancée and I shared our first dinner as an engaged couple at The Table and it was truly memorable. The waitress took excellent care of us and guided us both through the menu so we could make sure we were choosing a meal that met both of our wants. Although the sun had already set, the restaurant was still absolutely gorgeous. My fiancée's jambalaya wasn't exactly worth $30, in my opinion, but it was worth every cent for the experience that we shared. The steak, on the other hand, was absolutely delicious and worth every penny (or dollar-$40 to be exact). We will definitely be back for another special occasion."

  • "My wife and I chose the Crestwood for our last vacation night dinner. Arriving at the restaurant we were warmly greeted and seated in the nicely appointed dining area with cathedral ceiling and huge window overlooking the valley. The dining room was moderately busy with very nice ambience. We shared a butternut squash soup, very thick, creamy, with a fresh taste. My wife’s crispy trout was very tender and moist, served with a tasty risotto. My pork tenderloins were cooked just right and tasted excellent, served with rice and brussell sprouts. Dinner portions were well-sized. Service was prompt and friendly. The meal was well worth the price. I highly recommend the Crestwood."

  • "This place was recommended by one of your employees who happens to be an outstanding singer, much to our surprise and delight. My only complaint was the quality of the rib-eye steaks three of us ordered. There was too much sinue therefore hard to cut. They were cooked to our order, no complaint there. We had rib-eyes at another great restaurant 2 nights previous that were done to perfection and easier to cut and chew. The plate presentations were great. The singer was coaxed by us into singing and more than made up for the "tough" steaks."
