Been here once before. Last time the food portions were on the smaller side, quality good. Something you sacrifice if you want farm to table gourmet food. Our 2nd experience - Noise level was quite loud much more so than 1st time. Our waiter even commented on the noise level as he was yelling out the specials. Ordered two glasses of Calina Cab - a favorite dry red wine. Ordered a beet salad recommended by our waiter. Beet salad was two tablespoons, literally 2-3 bites at most for $12 - could thrown in another beet. Ordered Halibut which was delicious! Got home and realized we were charged $11 for one wine and $9 for the other - both were the same. We had excellent service! Food was very good, but short on portions. Watch salads!

Great food, great service but really loud. It's only one big room and with hard surface floors, at times, it's hard to hear the person sitting across the table from you. Maybe some sort of floor covering and some floor to ceiling panels between tables to soften the sound?

I would have given this restaurant 4 stars except that I think that some of the dishes are overprced and I judged it against restaurants of comparable costs. I had the Mexican halibut and it was fresh and well cooked but my husband was disappointed by his lamb ragout. Our server was very good but the location and ambience also does not support a restaurant with $30 entrees and $12 gazpachoes.

It was my first time ever eating there and I enjoyed it very much. The people were pretty nice and the food was tasty. I went during a sunday and the had a 3 for 33 which is appetizer, entree, and dessert. Thats a pretty good deal considering how much the food is on its own. I took my girlfriend and on the dessert plate they put a heart made of caremel so thats a big plus ;) Would recommend it.

This restaurant is such a wonderful addition to the neighborhood. The modern decor is sophisticated and welcoming and the food was innovative yet hearty and delicious. I had a refreshing pea tendril salad that was light but satisfying. I followed that with the chicken breast which was moist and cooked perfectly. The stuffing was so delicious I ate nearly all of it even though I am staying away from carbs. The service was great. The only suggestion I can make is I'd like to see more wines by the glass (and they currently only serve beer and wine). I will definitely return.

Coming from Washington, D.C. I had high hopes for a gastropub in SD, but this place didn't quite live up to my expectations. It is definitely a neighborhood gem, very nice ambiance and decor. The wine was fantastic and reasonably priced, but the food selection left something to be desired. There was one of every meat, as well as a vegeterian dish, but nothing really jumped out at me (other than the appetizers...wish I could have tried each and every one of them!). I ended up ordering the chicken. It was nicely cooked, and came with a delicious stuffing, but overall it left something to be desired.

We were eating early (6 pm) on Sunday night and the waitress told us the specials. There were two other tables in use at the time. Three of us at our table wanted the same special but we were told there was only one left. How can that be at 6 pm with so few people in the restaurant?

No-hassle on-line reservations, parking a challenge (don't even bother with their little lot unless you can see an open spot before you turn in - turning around is an adventure with the illegally-parked cars on the right-hand-side), seated promptly, polite and attentive service, etc. Appetizers very good (braised Brussels sprouts and fried chicken "oysters" (daily special)); main courses very good (ribeye and pork cheeks (fork tender - no knife offered or needed for the cheeks)); flourless chocolate cake normal but nothing special. My better half is very particular about her wine - server offered tasting portions of two unfamiliar wines even knowing that we were not going to order a bottle - nice touch! $100 all-in. We will visit again.

This venue is a great little secret for North PB tucked away on Turrquiose. I would say them menu needs a few more items to increase options. Also, some of the lighting, particularly the front entrance light is way too bright and bothersome if you sit near the front door. They need to put a dimmer switch in therer to make it more cozy and/or romantic. Overall great food.

The food was great! We started with the duck street tacos and LOVED them. My husband had the special lamb chops, which were cooked perfectly, and served over a bed of sauteed spinach and pancetta grits (fabulous!). I had the ribeye and was really happy with the flavor of the meat and the preparation. The pear tart tatin was incredible and still makes my mouth water thinking about it. Our server was efficient, warm and knowledgeable. (Too bad the hostess wasn't)... The decor was contemporary and inviting. Overall, I definitely recommend this restaurant and will come back - there were so many things on the menu that appealed to me that it will take a few more visits to satisfy my curiosity!

Brussel sprout appetizer was lacking, bland and forgetful. The pork cheeks main course was delicious, very flavorful and filling. The waitress was working hard but stretched thin, waited too long to order. The bus boy promised bread, it was never delivered until the meal was nearly completed. Price was a little high but not unreasonable. A nice spot to check out but I doubt we will return.

Beautiful decor,, pretty convenient if you are able to find parking in the small lot but service is somewhat lacking. As the night got busier, our table felt rather ignored... I understand if you are busy, but no one came to check on us or our water, and it took a while for us to ask for the bill and pay as well. The food was pretty good though. I'm a sucker for anything mushrooms, so I really enjoyed the Wild Mushrooms appetizer. Pork Cheeks were delicious with the polenta. I also had a taste of the Lamb Shoulder Ragu and liked it, but could do without that much cheese and the pasta tasted a little stiff and didn't seem to absorb much of the flavor. I'd come back to this place again but there is room for improvement.

I went with an overall very good rating on this restaurant even though I rated the food as good. The preperation was sound it is just that the sauce was overwhelming. It worked with the fillet mignon for the 1st few bits but then became too much. It did not go well with the vegetables. I might try this place again if in the neighborhood but would not drive from outside the area to get here.
