Diner Reviews
  • "Immediately upon entering we knew this place was going to be good. The staff was friendly and attentive, and our waiter was just awesome. Every recommendation was great and the service was quick. Will definitely visit this place again."

  • "An out of the way, not the easiest to find on 12th st restaurant but so worth going. The menu is interesting and not just standard food, the wait staff is attentive and all smiles and the food was scrumptious. I had a flash okra and mushroom dish that was superb. My husband has the flash spinach which he loved. We were with friends and every dish was a keeper. We will definitely return"

  • "We've been there a few times. Most recently we went there for my sons birthday. The atmosphere was great! We got there a little late but were seated right away. My mother is hypertensive so they dished out a special dish for her, which was delicious and at the end they brought a mango icecream cake with candle for my son, making him very happy. Loved our experience!"

  • "this place was suggested by a colleague and we tried it out and were quite impressed.. the decor would not at all lead you to believe you were in an Indian restaurant, but the food well makes up for the lack of decorations"

  • "A friend of mine recommended this restaurant and we were so glad that he did! My daughter and I enjoyed a starter of fried okra with several dipping sauces. My favorite sauces were the tamarind and the cilantro. Yum. Dinner was the Moilee (a coconut curry) which had just the right amount of creaminess with tender chicken and the Dehli Chole (a chickpea dish) which was fantastic. The flavors were amazing, the spiciness for both was perfect and we did love the garlic Naan bread. We will definitely go back and try more items. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I would recommend this restaurant."

  • "Tabla really hit a sweet spot on my palate and expectations. We went for lunch, and each had a thali. In my opinion, thali is always the way to go since it's an entree, two veggie side dishes, dessert, and of course rice and naan. The menu options covered the basics we expect from an Indian restaurant. The flavor profiles were on point and I was doing my happy dance! What makes Tabla unique is that it's not a lunch buffet. The service was impeccable. Our server gave us advice, suggestions, descriptions, always had a smile and my water glass never went empty. Also unlike most other Indian restaurants, the decor was modern. It's clean lines and neutral colors are very welcoming. We'll definitely be back soon!"

  • "Tabla is a must for lovers of Indian cuisine. It offers dishes that can be found in only a small number of Indian restaurants in the United States as well as traditional dishes with a twist. Tabla is reminiscent of Rasika, the outstanding, upscale Indian restaurant in Washington, DC."

  • "Thought the food was really good, service excellent but overpriced for standard Indian fare."

  • "There are better Indian restaurants out there. Tabla was good but it's overpriced. For the price the food quality is not that great. The paneer was so hard and a little too creamy. The Black Dal was amazing. I was happy to see Rumali roti on the menu. We ordered a chicken appetizer which was good too. Overall I would give this place a 3."

  • "My friend and I dined here and loved it! We ordered small plates (5!) and shared. All were delicious - from lamb, shrimp and chicken to flash-fried okra and stuffed potatoes. Tabla is Indian with a twist and presentation is wonderful. Excellent service - would definitely return."

  • "My family and I I have dined at Indian restaurants around the world, and I have to say Table ranks at the top. The food was positively superb -- so many creative items on the menu that you cannot find at a traditional Indian restaurant: duck tikka, mint scallops, red-curried lamb shank, you get the gist. Each and every item was delicious and achieved that difficult balance of blending subtlety and sensation. I would unhesitatingly highly recommend Tabla!"

  • "If you' re looking for Indian food with a twist, this is a solid option. Food is good. Service is good. Ambiance is friendly and relaxed. If you're looking for traditional Indian food, stick with your favorite neighborhood spot. We would certainly go back to Tabla, but I don't think it will be on the regular rotation. We were left missing a few of our favorite traditional dishes and asked ourselves if our favorite Indian spot had grown boring enough to need a fusion twist. The answer was "no" - not when we're craving traditional dishes. "

  • "Best indian food in atlanta! Try the baby eggplant and the chicken vindaloo."

  • "This was our second time dining here. The service was excellent! The food us delicious. Must try the fried Bhindi. The stuffed eggplant was excellent. I had a cucumber gin cocktail and hubby had whiskey infused with chai. Cocktails were also very good. "

  • "Had lunch at the Tabla. It was a pleasant experience. A nice clean place. Two hours validated parking, easy to find. Were seated immediately and served promptly. Every dish we tried was consistently good. The servers were very helpful, polite and friendly. The food was a very good - cooked just right and flavorful. Overall and very pleasant experience. Give it a try."

  • "What a welcome addition to Midtown! The food is creative, delicious and upscale. I hope that more people can find it tucked away on 12th near Crescent. It's in the base of a new highrise and there's hardly ever anyone there at lunch. I've been there 5 - 6 times already and have enjoyed every visit. The tikka masala is flavorful without being too spicy. The cauliflower dish is awesome (has almost a meaty texture). The garlic naan is perfectly cooked and seasoned."

  • "Me and my wife were looking for a good Indian restaurant in midtown area for our 1st anniversary dinner and we are glad we chose Tabla. The food was great, the service was superb and they truly came across as wanting to make each customer's experience unique. We had a samosa chaat, butter chicken, dilli chole and rumaali roti. Though butter chicken appeared as if lots of color had been used, it tasted great. We ended up filling our tummies to the maximum. The restaurant people were so nice to give us an awesome dessert complimentary. The dessert was a great combination of chai ice cream with some berries served in a small bowl made frm chocolate. All in all a memorable experience. Will love to visit again."

  • "We live in the neighborhood, so we were eager to try Tabla, which has just opened this year. We were pleased with the very attentive service and good food. The flash fried okra first course was especially notable. The menu is very well rounded with good variety. We ordered curries, which were excellent. We will definitely return frequently. Tabla is off to a good start and could develop into Atlanta's best Indian restaurant."

  • "After having great Indian food in London, we found that Atlanta is sorely lacking. Finally we have Tabla. The setting is elegant and comfortable, service was excellent, and food was superb. The Open Table site says no parking, which is not true - the restaurant is in a building with an underground deck and will validate. We were really pleased and hope Tabla will make it!"

  • "I've been living in Atlanta for almost 5 years and have not been satisfied with the Indian restaurants in and around the city.. that was until Tabla opened. The food is excellent, service is top notch, and the ambience is great. We had the Chicken Tikka and Saag paneer.. Both very large portions for 2 people. Must try the gulab jamun for dessert, it was yummy!! I can't wait until my parents come into town to visit.. Will definitely be bringing them here!"

  • "We've been for lunch and dinner and have thoroughly enjoyed the food and service both times. They were very accomodating to our (well-behaved) 2 /12 year old, which was wonderful. This is a great place for weekday lunch or a special dinner. We will definitely be back."

  • "You can count the number of good Indian restaurants in Atlanta on one hand. In terms of food, this is definitely one of them. However, service and atmosphere could do with some attention (eg while we were happy with our waiter, we didn't appreciate another waiter 'butting in' every time he walked past)."

  • "Fantastic food and excellent service. The menu has terrific traditional dishes but also some very modern and creative no traditional dishes. Our server was Godwin and he was great. The interior of the Restaraunt is work and modern, very tasteful and not stereotypical Indian."

  • "From the minute we entered, greeted by a stunning Indian woman in a gorgeous saree, to the minute we left to catch a cab, we were very well treated. Our waiter was charming and made excellent recommendations, the owner checked in several times and the food was exceptional. Definitely try the specials - unique combos of textures and favors... Yoghurt "kebabs" (how do they do that???), a chick pea topped vegetable puff -amazing, pappadams with 3 very interesting sauces, shrimp tikka masala... And a nice wine list. Will definitely come again when in ATL"

  • "We thoroughly enjoyed our meal here. The food was very good and authentic. We are looking forward to going back. It was a little empty when we were there, but that might have to do with it being fairly new."

  • "This restaurant fills the void of not having good Indian fine dining restaurants in Atlanta. There are a couple of others but this is a good addition. Good food, ambience and service though not sure why its called tabla."

  • "Tabla has really good Indian food whether you want vegetarian or meat dishes. The environment is friendly, and they recommend reservations but I've never seen a wait. They have a bar, but really no beer selection. They have plenty of liquor and other mixed drinks, and a decent wine selection. The waiters are a little bit awkward and almost pushy, but I would imagine that's because they are new. I think it's a tad bit pricy in general, but for being indian and in midtown it's expected. It's definitely worth going to if you're craving Indian food."

  • "No compromises Indian food served in a high energy setting. Great service and good wine selection. Definitely would recommend this for business lunch and dinner for foodies who are into Indian food in a very localized environment"

  • "I was craving Indian food and had planned to venture to one of my regular spots when I discovered Tabla on OpenTable, and I'm SO glad I did! The food was fabulous, our waiter was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere is great. We went with more traditional dishes to see how they compared with other restaurants and were pleasantly surprised. The Paneer Tikka was roasted perfectly, and the seasonings were wonderful. Tandoori shrimp was perfectly smokey but still tender and very flavorful. Tikka Masala was fresh and delicious, and the Aloo Gobi was some of the best I've ever had. More expensive than some of the traditional Indian spots in town, but good value compared to other upscale restaurants. We will definitely be back."

  • "Was happy that Midtown finally got a higher-end Indian restaurant option and excited to try it. I've lived in the UK and miss the quality Indian fine dining you can find there. Menu was hit-or-miss, seemed a little bit unconfident at presenting truly authentic food, but does have some strong points. However the condiments and side dishes are not as good as you can find at far cheaper spots in the area, as they lack forward flavors and spice. I asked for a plate of onions, chili and lemon (typical indian accompaniment) - which was not on the menu. It took them about twenty minutes to come up with something, with no sense of urgency, and I sent it back because was already nearly finished. Odd service too, never knew who was actually my server"

  • "It's great to have high quality Indian food in Midtown finally. A welcome addition to the neighborhood. The garlic naan was fantastic. Everything was delicious."

  • "While I have pretty varied food palate, Indian food has never really been on my radar screen. This restaurant changed that! There were only two of us at dinner, but I would love to return with a crowd so that we could order a bigger variety of dishes to sample. The food was beyond excellent - my friend and I both ordered two different curry dishes, along with a couple of small plates for appetizers. Everything was delicious and very flavorful. Keep in mind that curry is spicy (I really enjoy spicy foods), so if you prefer a not so spicy dish, this may be too spicy for some. The service was extremely attentive, and the servers were always available without breathing down your back."
