We came here for a late dinner. And we were happy that we did. Authentic Indian cuisine right in the heart of Midtown. I don't think that many people know about this place yet. The food is very good, but the place was pretty empty.

The food was quite tasty, My husband and I ordered the okra which was thinly sliced and coated just right. We also ordered the coconut crab marsala. When it arrived I dived into it unaware that it was scorching hot and burned my tongue badly. At that point I was unable to enjoy my Tandoori Chicken and my Kiss of India cocktail. However my husband was pleased with his Vindaloo shrimp which he said was extremely hot with pepper just the way he likes it. It would have been nice if I had been warned that the appetizer was hot and to proceed with caution. Perhaps after my tongue heals I will return again to fully enjoy the flavorful dishes at Tabla.

Went with a group of co-workers, some of whom never had Indian. Everyone loved the food - the naan is made to order and is awesome - the curries were all very good as were the samosas. The waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful. Can't wait to go back for dinner!

My partner and I dined at Tabla previously with my dad, and it was incredible then...SO, when we visited on Monday for our second time we were crossing our fingers that the first time was not just a hoax. To our delight, it was just as incredible the second go around. Food was amazing, wine was great, especially at half off on Mondays!! This is going to be a regular spot for sure...for the naan alone!!!

After seeing this restaurant sparsely populated in the past six months of living around the corner, the amazing fragrant aromas consistently pouring out; made me not care if anyone was there. The food was amazing, it was pretty packed, but I was kind of disappointed in the service. It wasn't anything to keep me away in the future, it's just a petty nuisance I felt. Oh and when the waiters say "spicy" they are not joking.

We love Indian Food but have had a hard time finding a really high quality Indian restaurant in Atlanta that has authentic recipes that are well execkuted. Tabla is that place in Atlanta. Every item on the menu is excellent and the service is always first rate. The space is modern and has a great vibe and is located in the trendy Midtown neighborhood. We have eaten at Tabla three times already and plan on making weekly trips back to Tabla. Also make sure to take a look at the unique cocktail menu.

Drinks - Mango lassi was typical. Disappointed the large bottles of Kingfisher were not available; had to settle for the small. Small plates - Duck tikka was okay but had an aftertaste. The paneer tikka and coconut crab masala were well seasoned. Mains - Mint fish was too dry even when adding the sauce on the side. Bharwan kofta was one big lump in the almond sauce (not at all a good presentation; good flavor though). Goat bhuna didn't have much meat, was mostly bones. Masala mac and cheese was flavourless until we added the chili oil. Our 9 month old loved the tandoori rotli. Service was good - server kept checking in on us and was attentive when we needed something. Hostess was accomodating despite us being late for the reservation.

First off, food was excellent. Ambiance and setting excellent. Several other service related issues. We had a large group and used scoutmob "deal" for each couple. Initially waiter said we couldn't use it for dinner. Then he relented. Then when the was cleared up, took 40 minutes for all of our drinks to get to our table after 2 requests. Finally had issue with how our entrees were to come out (suffice it to say ownership didn't agree with scoutmob wording). However manager relented and we came to a compromise. Bottom line: food excellent and very much worth coming back for. Skip the scoutmob voucher and just order off the menu.

We visited Tabla after buying a Scoutmob offer however once being seated and having read the menu decided to order a la carte instead. Service was attentive and friendly the space modern and very pleasing however above all the food was excellent, this is the type of high end Indian fare that you would be lucky to find in a major city. This was a Labor Day evening so there were few diners and therefore difficult to judge on the noise and service levels under pressure however the staff seemed to be very capable. The food has proper levels of flavor and spice, if you are not sure would recommend a visit for a cocktail and appetizer in the bar area before trying the full menu. This will be on my list of places to visit again and again.

I checked this place out last weekend! First of all, the parking is validated for two hours for the deck located right next door, which is a huge plus for Midtown in Atlanta. The ambience was great; it's a classy, quiet restaurant with a modern vibe. The food was absolutely amazing. For those that aren't familiar with Indian food, the restaurant has done a great job of creating traditional dishes that are clearly described on the menu. You'll get quite a serving, and the pricing is fairly low for a Midtown restaurant. The server was extremely friendly and attentive. This is a great restaurant for those that want to try something new in a classy, quiet setting in the heart of Atlanta.

Who would think that the best fried okra in Atlanta would be at an Indian restaurant? I wouldn't, but try the fried okra small plate (which is massive) at Tabla. We've been twice and loved both entrees and apps both times. I would recommend getting a Garlic Nan with any entrees that have a curry sauce - it comes out fresh and hot. We have struggled to find a great Indian restaurant in the downtown area. I will be back.

I live in midtown, and it's great to finally have an Indian restaurant within walking distance! They have a wide variety of Indian fusion dishes with well-thought out flavors. The dishes were executed well, and the service was good. The vindaloo was less spicy than I'm used to at traditional Indian restaurants, but very good flavor. I'll have it again!

An out of the way, not the easiest to find on 12th st restaurant but so worth going. The menu is interesting and not just standard food, the wait staff is attentive and all smiles and the food was scrumptious. I had a flash okra and mushroom dish that was superb. A friend of mine recommended this restaurant and we were so glad that he did! My daughter and I enjoyed a starter of fried okra with several dipping sauces. My favorite sauces were the tamarind and the cilantro. Yum. Dinner was the Moilee (a coconut curry) which had just the right amount of creaminess with tender chicken and the Dehli Chole (a chickpea dish) which was fantastic. The flavors were amazing, the spiciness for both was perfect and we did love the garlic Naan bread. We will definitely go back and try more items. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful with the menu. I would recommend this restaurant.

Tabla really hit a sweet spot on my palate and expectations. We went for lunch, and each had a thali. In my opinion, thali is always the way to go since it's an entree, two veggie side dishes, dessert, and of course rice and naan. The menu options covered the basics we expect from an Indian restaurant. The flavor profiles were on point and I was doing my happy dance! What makes Tabla unique is that it's not a lunch buffet. The service was impeccable. Our server gave us advice, suggestions, descriptions, always had a smile and my water glass never went empty. Also unlike most other Indian restaurants, the decor was modern. It's clean lines and neutral colors are very welcoming. We'll definitely be back soon!

There are better Indian restaurants out there. Tabla was good but it's overpriced. For the price the food quality is not that great. The paneer was so hard and a little too creamy. My family and I I have dined at Indian restaurants around the world, and I have to say Table ranks at the top. The food was positively superb -- so many creative items on the menu that you cannot find at a traditional Indian restaurant: duck tikka, mint scallops, red-curried lamb shank, you get the gist. Each and every item was delicious and achieved that difficult balance of blending subtlety and sensation. I would unhesitatingly highly recommend Tabla!

If you' re looking for Indian food with a twist, this is a solid option. Food is good. Service is good. Ambiance is friendly and relaxed. If you're looking for traditional Indian food, stick with your favorite neighborhood spot. We would certainly go back to Tabla, but I don't think it will be on the regular rotation. We were left missing a few of our favorite traditional dishes and asked ourselves if our favorite Indian spot had grown boring enough to need a fusion twist. The answer was "no" - not when we're craving traditional dishes.
